Didn't even stay the night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/11
Attempted a weekend getaway at Pocono Palace. Didn't last 5 minutes! Checked out the grounds and got our room key. Our lakeside chalet was disgusting. Straight from the 80's! It was very dark and dirty. The whole place makes you feel uneasy. The decor is very cheesy. We went right back to the front desk and got a full refund. The staff was friendly and didn't make any excuses. I would never go back there again. We drove six hours and turned right around. For $500/night you are better off staying at a comfort inn jacuzzi suite- which is what we did. $100 and free breakfast. Atleast it was clean and new.

Girl friends birthday gift...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/31/11
So I took my girlfriend to stay here for one night. I was super excited to go even after reading some bad reviews explaining outdated amenities etc. I am not picky at all but when i say this place needs some redecoration, I really mean it. All the reviews preaching that the tvs are outdated and the rugs smell and whatever are true. It is wierd because they are definitely making money and to touch up the rooms and resort as a whole would be a great investment. Anyways, the mini golf area is really a joke. Nine small putting greens with plastic obstacles. The room was very clean so I have no complaints about that and the food wasn't bad either. Not good enough for my girlfriend, but she is harder to please than I am. The activities were really misrepresented and I was pretty angry about that. Gym was three machines and the roller rink was in a verrrry old gymnasium. Like one I had in my elementary school haha. I still look at the website and see the people they represent in as visitors and it definitely not like that. I am not trying to be rude whatsoever but we absolutely felt out of place and out of our element. The romantic factor was very tacky and it was hard to overcome that. I stayed in the champagne glass tower room and it was nice but too big for two people. The review I read about the fire place being no where near the bed is true I couldn't really enjoy a fire with my gf and snuggling in the champagne glass jacuzzi was impossible. I mean overall it was absolutely an experience but I do not recommend this place to a younger couple; one that enjoys true luxury and elegance.

HORRIBLE - Fantasy Apple
By April, 2/21/11
If there was a 0 rating for this place I would have chose that. This place was like a nightmare. First off when you walk into the lobby everything is so outdated. It smells like fake roses and it's just revolting. We had to wait two hours later than what we were told for our room to be finished. The amenities were ridiclous. They make is seem like they have more available than they do. No snow tubing and no snowmobiling. No snow period. Before we even got into our room I noticed that the walkway was all beatup. As we walked into our room I was bombarded by cigarette smell. I thought the smell would go away the longer I was in the room but no matter how long I sat there I still smelled cigarettes. I had to open up the door and ignore the cold because the smell was so strong but it didn't work. The room itself was completely outdated. There was a 1980s box tv with wooden paneling. It was ridiculous. We decided to try out the tiny pool. The mirrors around the pool looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all, it was nasty. The jacuzzi was supposed to be blue but it had a very yellow tint to it along with the pool. We went into the sauna after the pool and sat in there for 10 minutes and it never heated up. Trying to get to the bathroom is like being in a maze. So if you are the kind of person that goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night you might really hurt yourself trying to find it. The rounded bed is not good for tall people and our bed was very sunk-in in the middle. The sitting room was pointless. They give you a little chair and a little love seat (both very uncomfortable) far away from the firplace. They give you logs (which you pay 7 dollars a piece for) and they didn't give us anything to light them with. The fireplace is in a different area then your bedroom so you can't even lounge on the bed while enjoying the fireplace. The fireplace is very old and you are afraid to touch the door to it for fear it will break apart. There is a light that hangs down near the bed that I hit my head on three times because it's so low. I'm sure I can go on and on about the room but I think you get the point. The food was horrendous. It was a buffet and everything tasted nasty or cold. Not much of a choice selection. I expected to get served as much as we paid. And the service was horrible. The front desk people and the servers were so whatever about everything. The manager was kinda rude when I told him about my problems. All in all the things that you get were NO WHERE NEAR worth the money you pay. That place is so expensive. It was the worse experience I have ever had. We will make sure to stick with cruises from now on.

The Perfect Honeymoon, Going Back next year!
By Robert, 6/21/10
We went to Pocono Palace for our Honeymoon and loved it. The staff waits on you hand and foot, and are very eager to please. The nightly entertainment was fun. Breakfast and Dinner overlook the lake in the dinning room, We stayed in the Champagne towers, which was two floors, the CRT TV makes the room look dated, but really, we were not on our honeymoon to watch TV anyway. The Golf course isn't too bad but could use some help on the greens. The pool in our room was great, we just added a few candles around the room and jacuzzi to spice the place up a bit. The housekeeping kept it clean. This place exceeded our expectations. We didn't want too leave! The gameroom was nice equipped with a mini golf course. The food is outstanding. Pocono Palace is about 4 miles away from Bushkill Falls, and many other places that we planned day trips to. It was nice to came back to your hotel room and swim in the pool and take a romantic bubble bath in the jacuzzi chapagne tower. The starlights on the ceiling at night set us at ease. Although the resort is an oldie, it is still a goodie. We are already planning to go back next year! We loved it. Also take a boat out on the lake, it is wonderfull. Also if you have a problem, make sure you let the staff know, they will do their best to resolve any issue. Although we had very few issues, they responded immediately.

It is not for newlyweds
By M., 12/30/09
Hey, we went to Pocono Ceasar Palace, PA in 2008 to celebrate our honeymoon in June. Once we arrived, the reception area smelled like swimming pool that was in the same building. We hoped that our suite would be set up before we arrived--maybe a lit candle, which would have been very nice... The breakfast, we hoped, would come on plates, nicely served--but no, it came in a paper box--some bagels, a can of cranberry juice.. and the last day I actually got spoiled cranberry juice...yuck.The first day we arrived (tired after a long ride), we got sat at a table with other couples!!! All we wanted was to rest and enjoy the private conversation. The lake nearby was very dirty, the beach...I am speechless... The place needs a lot of updating... I am sorry, but for young couples there was nothing much to do except to stay in the suite in the summer time!!! For the price that we have paid, we rather flew someplace like The Grand Canyon or so.. Consider twice before going there. It is not worth paying that much for a larger suite with a heart shaped jacuzzi tub that we fell for, I guess...

We will come back!
By Amy, 9/22/08
Our first trip to the Poconos was for our Honeymoon and we stayed at Paradise Stream. We had such a bad experience we said we'd never come back. We were given a complimentary 2 night stay since we had such a bad experience the 1st time. We stayed at Pocono Palace in the Champagne towers. It was great! The service was so much better than Paradise Stream. The room was still outdated but very clean. The steak dinner was wonderful. We got a table for 2 and really enjoyed it. We took the paddleboats out onto the lake and had a great day. If we would have stayed at Pocono Palace the first time, we would have had a wonderful honeymoon. I would definitely recommend this to someone else.

We LOVE this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/30/07
My husband & I are both professionals (doctor & nurse) plus world travelers! We love this place because it is so unique. They've been in business for over 50 years so they must be doing something right. There's no other place in the world like Caesars Pocono Resorts! WOW! Everytime we stay here we fall in love all over again! It's such an awesome atmosphere in any season! Here are just some of the features of this resort: A lot of rooms have swimming pools right in them & almost all have heart-shaped Jacuzzis-for-two, saunas, refrigerators & fireplaces! If you have AAA membership you can get a 20% discount! If you're a Starwood Resorts member you can 50% off for just 1000 starpoints. This resort & the other Caesars Pocono Resorts are owned by Sheraton. If your workplace is a member of the Getaway Club you can also get 50% off that way, too. It's a couples-only resort & all-inclusive so you pay one price & everything’s included: tax, gratuity, all-you-can-eat dinners, social directed group activities, nightly entertainment (usually a band & dancing or a comedian), breakfast-in-bed, hors d’oeuvres, late night snacks, theme nights (Welcome, Romance, Mardi Gras, Tropical Beach, Roman night), plus a later all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast in the dining room if you like. Some of the on-site free activities included are: tanning beds, water-skiing, speedboat rides, paddle boats, rowboats, sailboats, fishing, 9 hole regulation golf course, golf driving range, miniature golf, tennis (indoor & outdoor), racquetball, swimming pools (indoor & outdoor), fitness equipment, hot tubs, basketball, volleyball, walleyball, bicycles-built-for-2 or 1, archery, billiards or pool, bocce ball, ping pong, roller skating, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice skating (indoor & outdoor), tobogganing, snow tubing, wireless internet access, 24 hour coffee, tea & hot chocolate. For a fee there is also: an arcade, horseback riding, skiing, room service, massage therapy, horse-drawn carriage rides, etc. There’s lots to do so you won’t get bored. The rooms are so unique with swimming pools, Jacuzzis, fireplaces & saunas that some people just stay in the rooms. It's such a romantic place to enjoy with your special someone that I can't recommend it enough. We've been happlity married for over 32 years now. Go often with the one you love. You won't be sorry!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/25/07
my boyfriend and i just returned from a two night stay at the garden of eden.it was the perfect getaway for us.they had many of things to do as a group among other vacationers, like, sexual trivia, survivor, the not so newlywed game, etc.there was diffrent activities throughout the day and the schedule changed everyday,or, you could go out on your own and pleay pool, golf archery, video games, and much more. the room was immaculant, our private pool was the best.we had room service, and the friendliness of the staff as well as the others staying at this resort was top notch. i would definitely recommend this to anyone.there was plenty to do or just stay in your room and enjoy.its a bit pricey but worth it.

Make sure you get the special
By Yary, 3/6/07
It is a romantic place in a romantic area. My biggest disappointment was our room's outdated appearance and some debris which I suspect is from keeping the porch door open. We stayed in the Fantasy Apple. You would think that for its price they could add little touches such as candles, wine glasses, some romatic accessories to the room--not for an additional price. The room alone is nothing without some special touches. I guess they feel that the pool, sauna, and whirlpool is excuse enough yet we have stayed at cheaper places and felt pampered with just some personal touches. We stayed Friday through Saturday. The "heated" pool in our room was cold on Saturday. Late that same night we tried to take a bubble bath in the whirlpool but there was no hot water! The pool was fine on Sunday but the whirpool still had no hot water. When my husband called it in on Saturday night they said they were not able to fix it for a few hours and that maybe it was because we turned only the hot water. The little refrigerator was not working when we arrived but at least they replaced it rather quickly. There was no garbage can around the bathroom area. It's a good thing we were so into each other that we just made note to comment at a later time, not ruin our special time. So I suggest that if you do plan to go, do it only when prices are around half of what they normally charge. That way it won't hurt so bad.

Adult playland at its best..
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/22/07
My husband and I had a great time we stayed in the Champange Towers by Cleopatra. The room was awesome the pool, sauna, champagne glass hot-tub was great. It's just like the pictures even better. The bed was so comfortable very soft. The lighting was great very mood setting. We had a great time playing put-put, pool, paddle boatting, hiking searching for autumn leaves. The food was great the Lobster was to die for so big. The bands were good and the comedians were even better. The XXX-Newly Wed Game was funny next time we might join in. The only thing that we where not happy with was the greens on the golf course they needed much help.. But we will go back were planning to go in Oct. to see Boy's 2 Men at Cove Haven. I can't wait. If you are uncomfortable with your lovelife don't go you will uncomfortable with your surroundings alot of it is sexual based. Also, if your not in love madly with your significant other don't go will not be worth it for you.. If you like beer buy it on the way in from NY or NJ. It's hard to find in PA if you are not aware of there laws on beer. You can buy however buy spirts and wine almost across the street from the resort. It cost about $10-20 for a six pack at the cafe.. So that you will know. Also you will need to bring your own bubble bath, candles, also the logs for the fireplace and wine glasses if you don't order one of there baskets..
