Great Location for walking historic Philly!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/08
This hotel had wonderful service by the front desk. They were very pleasant and helpful. The room was good. The location had to be the best in town. Right next to the Mint and around the corner from Liberty Bell and other historic attractions. Was able to walk from hotel to just every historic location. The price was okay. The only thing I would have liked, is a cheaper rate for the hotel room. There is no inside pool. Since it's on the roof and it's April...it was closed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Philly!

A Great Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/08
We went to Philadelphia in August of 07' and stayed at the Holiday Inn. The hotel is beautiful from both the inside and the outside. We did miss a lot of features of the hotel such as the hotel restaurant and the pool (it was raining the entire stay), so there isn't much to review. The room was nice. The only thing to complain about was the location. The hotel is right across from the fire department and we heard sirens all night long. But the location itself is incredibly close to all of the Historic places to go.

Great great great location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/07
Loved the location, you want to see this area--stay here. No doubt about it. great rooms and beds. check-in a little slow. breakfast buffet was good, managers were friendly and nice. great parking- we walked most of the time. We went out walking on Sat eve and it was a wonderful experience, we walked up four blocks and enjoyed old philly and unique stores and cafes, lots of people and felt very safe. They didnt have enough cards for internet our first night and we had to be put on a waiting list but got one the second day. For this area- which by the way was WONDERFUL, you must stay here!

i had to write and let you know that your staff is wonderful. my daughter had eye surgery at Wills eye last week and he did not plan to stay overnight. but we were able to get a room at your hotel and everyone was so nice and accomodating. My family will stay there again and we will recommend it to our friends. thank you Kim Johnson

great for history buffs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/07
you can't throw a rock in any direction from this hotel and not literally have it hit something of historic value. from the window of my room i could see ben franklins grave-very cool. the hotel is under some remodeling but this was never an issue for us. the room was nicely decorated and clean. the hotel staff was helpful and friendly. room service was prompt and accurate. the only negative for this hotel is the hotel restaurant. the restaurant staff should be thrown off the franklin bridge--that is after you find them. we stood at the desk waiting to be seated for 15 minutes during lunch time (1230) as staff walked by and did not even ask if we were there to eat, etc. another couple was there and were as dumbfounded as we were. by the way, the restaurant was empty except for a couple of suites having a drink and looking at papers. p.s. the outdoor pool needs to be enclosed for use in winter months.

They lie
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/19/07
The rates posted on this website and on gophila cannot be had. The actual rate is 189 per night. I have made 6 phone calls into the sales department, left 4 voice mails, none of which were returned over three days, only to find out at the front desk that the advertised rates are not available. I was actually quoted and reserved with a credit card a 133 rate for 8 rooms, and then it was taken away. This is the most poorly run excuse for a hotel in the year 2007 that I have ever seen.

Sirens all night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/07
This hotel is lovely the rooms are weel kept. It is across the street from a fire house so sirensa are foing all night. We were at a conference and half the attendees were exhausted the next day becasue they kept getting woken up by the sirens. If sleep is what you seek do not stay at this hotel.

Do not stay at this hotel
By Jeff, 11/17/06
This hotel is in aweful condition. It is old, dirty, and dark. The bathroom was possibly the worst bathroom I have ever seen at a hotel. The ceiling is falling down. The make shift closet that is in the room was falling apart. The heater also smell like burned food. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will never stay there again.

Confused
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/06
Everything about this hotel was excellent, however, I had to give it one star. This place is haunted. I can't begin to describe how terrifying this experience was. Lights coming on and off in the middle of the night, footsteps in the room at night, a child laughing in the room at night. However, the service was great and the hotel has a great location. Just don't bring young children to this hotel or they may be very frightened.

We want to come back in April
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
Housekeeping was wonderful, cooperative and helpful. Location was the best. The location was the best. We could walk everywhere with ease even though it was hot and I was recovering from open heart surgery.
