Our room was so awful, we didn't stay. We were given a "refurbished" room. If that was refurbished, I hate to see what it was like before. When we told them we were leaving because of the accommodations, they didn't even offer us another room. Would never go there again.

I recently purchased a groupon deal for a stay at this hotel and was very excited about it… until I called to make a reservation. I had gone online to see if there was a room available for the weekend I was looking at, and there was. A premium king room, just as I had purchased my deal for. Perfect. I called to make my reservation and was told there were NO rooms available for the weekend in which I was inquiring. Weird, as I was looking at the available room online?!? I was told there was only certain quantity of rooms that were available to groupon holders, but that I could upgrade for another $100 to the superior room. I asked when they did have an availability, to which I was told they were booked up until May 15, 2012, without skipping a beat. The person didn’t even look to see if anything was available. Convenient, since that is when the groupon expired. I asked to speak with the manager, to which I was told no, and that he would write down my name and number to pass on. What?!? I have also left the manager messages, but have yet to receive a call back this week. The person I spoke to was very rude. It sounds as though this establishment is selling a deal under false pretenses, so when you call to use it, oh sorry, we don’t have any rooms available, but you can upgrade to our even more expensive rates. You will spend more than you would have w/o the deal. Terrible business practice!

We used to live in Lincoln City and came back to visit family. Our stay at Surftides was interesting. We loved the fine dining at the Mist. This is a place that should be located somewhere else. The waiter/bartender was great and made the experience over the top. I suggest everyone go and try eating at the MIST. The Hotel is old and you can tell they are trying to update. I give them a 5 for trying but the hotel is still just a 3. A bit overpriced but I would go back just to eat at the MIST. They have some great staff and hope they hold on to them as it makes your stay a great deal more pleasurable. .

This is a nice place to stay. my second favorite to the inn at spanich head. Its an older building but is extremely well maintained and very clean. The rooms become more modern everytime I go there. There is a beautiful view of the beach, nice balconies, and easy, fast beach access. The pool and spa area are outdated in appearance, but are still nice to swim or relax in. I definately reccomend this hotel. You will love it!

This was our first stay and we loved it! Our room was comfy, with a fireplace, and great flat screen tv. The view was AMAZING! Everything was clean, the front desk was helpful and polite and we had a yummy dinner in the restaurant. This is a hidden gem at the coast - you don't have to go anywhere else which we loved. We just relaxed at the beach. We will definitely go back and bring the kids next time!

Service is horrible and has gone down hill in the last six months. People working there are crabby.

After reading some of the negative reviews I can't belive we are talking about the same place. Me and my wife had an ocean front room that was large, clean, and very well stocked with everything we could want. The service wes very friendly. Maid service kept the room clean at all times. A very good value. I would recommend this place to all my friends!!!

We chose this hotel because we needed a room for six people and the price wasn't bad for the "on the beach" location. Our room was large - two queens and a sofa sleeper - but there were definitely some problems. We had two bath towels and two glasses for six people. Our call for more linen was ignored and on the second day when housekeeping came they left the same two wet towels draped over the tub - and no clean dishes. We ended up going to the lobby and taking a few dishtowel sized pool towels just so we could all shower. We could hear the people next door as clearly as if they were in our room so I can't imagine how bad it would be if they had been partiers. The mattresses were hard as rocks - we actually fought over who could sleep on the sofa sleeper. Next time we'll start making our plans earlier and choose a different place.

15 horses are kept in pens on less than one acre 24-7. There is no shelter of any kind. The horses are out in the sun and wind all the time. The horses are not cleaned up after. They roll in their own manure. They are fed on top of their own manure, and sleep in their own manure. I'd be concerned about E.Coli risks similar to the situations in petting zoos where children got sick after touching animals in dirty conditions. The horses have to cross a busy street and go down to the beach via a dangerously steep dirt ramp. I won't take any of my loved ones to such a poorly run business operated by the Surftides Inn.

I was so dissatisfied and uncomfortable, my wife and I left at 11pm and cancelled all of our plans. This stay ruined my vacation. A day later I am still angry. You should not have to request a shower curtain, or a clean room! The selling points of the room (jacuzzi, fireplace) should work! I will tell everyone I know to avoid this place.
