Hampshire House Hotel, Cincinnati

After arriving home from a convention, I felt I had to sit down and warn people about this hotel. The ONLY thing it has for it is a beautiful atrium area in the middle of the hotel. That's it! And even that wouldn't have been half as good without the convention's decorations. The rooms are downright DISGUSTING! I have spent the weekend feeling like a elementary school child going "Eeekkkk... Cooties" ! The bathroom was downright scary! The tub/shower looked like it hadn't seen a cleaning product in months if ever. The sink was cracked with black mold growing in it. The toilet shifted and made a crunch noise every time you sat down that made you feel like you were going to fall through the floor at any moment. The mirrors and several other spots on the walls all had black mold as well. The furniture was just as scary. Our mattress felt more like double box springs with a thin mattress pad on top. The desk chair liked to try to dump you due to the fact it was missing a roller. And when opening one of the dresser drawers, it fell apart in my hand. The hotel staff barely listened to anything you asked, most of the time being rude when they did. Also don't bother asking for ANYTHING while you are there. Change for a $5 so you can get a drink or snack from the hard to find vending machines? Forget it. Extra towels because 2 won't do when you have 3-4 people in a room? Not happening. An extra blanket because their blankets are thin and the rooms can't decide if they actually want to get above 40 degrees even if you have the heat on? Dream on. And if you do go, skip the continental breakfast! We still don't know if the milk that was making everyone sick was powdered milk or sour milk but 1 sip altered your taste buds for a good 10 minutes... if you were able to keep it down at all! While I thoroughly enjoyed the convention itself, I wouldn't return to this hotel if someone paid me a million dollars!

WE LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS HOTEL. WE COME THERE IT LEAST ONCE A YEAR. UNTIL LAST YEAR BECAUSE IT WAS NOT OPEN. I FOR ONE WAS VERY SAD. WE HOPE THAT YOU ARE UP AD RUNNING THIS YEAR. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL IN OCTOBER. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS MRS. SIMMONS

A lot of the other reviews are very negative towards this hotel. Once a year my family travels to Springdale and almost every time we stay in the Hampshire House. I do not think the hotel is the most beautiful or luxurious hotel there ever was, but it is decent and I have always loved staying in it. One reason being that it has a huge pool and a big hot tub which are ideal for large groups. It also has an big area next to the pool great for hanging out in or playing games. It also has a workout room which is a nice bonus. I have always enjoyed this hotel and to be honest the times my family has stayed in other hotels, I wish we would have stayed in the Hampshire House instead.
