We will be back as soon as we visit cleveland!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/21/11
When we go there the room was clean and beautiful we asked the front desk for a nice place to eat and a safe place to walk since we are from such a small town. They gave us a nice map with the pricing of restuarants around, when we got back we sat in the hotel lobby bar and had a few drinks all of the staff were so pleasant we sat and talked to them all night until they closed. We met the manager of the beverage and food he was the most pleasant and hospitable manager we have ever met. I have been to a lot of fine hotels and not one had the staff that could compare to this hotel. The managers name is Anthony Rogers and he was so nice his staff waited on us hand and foot with fresh strawberries in my champegne! When we were talking to Anthony we told him we had just got married and he sent us a bottle of champegne and chocolate covered strawberries to our room! This is how service should be and never is anymore! My mom and step father are going up this weekend because we were so impressed! When we woke up and checked out in the morning there was a problem with our gift cards we had to pay for the room we wanted to use it to include our valet parking, they compt our parking and gave us a $25 gift certificate for our problem with no hassle I mean exactly how customer service should be! Anthony and his staff made our trip that more special!! Thank you Renaissance Staff!

Very disappointed
By Kelly, 7/26/11
This is the 8th city we have visited on our tour of the baseball stadiums. We booked this trip well in advance, and actually called the hotel to book our reservation in order to insure we were able to get what we wanted. We reserved 3 rooms, at least 2 connecting, and with 2 queen beds in each. When we arrived at the hotel on Thurs July 21 at 4pm only 2 of our rooms were ready. 1 was on the 6th floor and the other on the 5th floor with the additional room connecting to it. We decided to take our things up to the rooms that were ready. Upon entering the first room we were surprised that there was only a king sized bed. We checked the second room and again only a king sized bed. We proceeded down to the desk to say they must have made a mistake. We were then told that they do not guarantee the beds in the room. Hello, we have 2 adults and 2 children in the room, where are we supposed to put them all. They then tell us that they can offer us roll away beds which are a fairly large. Ok so I guess we will have to make the best of it even though that is not what we requested. My sister in law was up in the one room when they delivered the first of the roll away beds. She calls me on my cell to inform me that these "fairly large" roll aways are twin size beds and they will only put one in each room. Hello, I have 2 children! I again went to the desk to complain. The girl proceeds to tell me that they are large and my 2 children can share one. I then politely inform her that my one child sleeps in a full size bed at home by himself and takes up the whole bed. Her response, sorry I don't know what to tell you! Great customer service, let me tell you! Thankfully we had reserved 3 rooms and had only 3 children with us so we took the roll away from the 3rd room and put it on ours, but I don't know what other people would have done. Why would I want a king size bed when I reserved a room for 4 people!? The hotel was packed the weekend we were there which also made the elevators run INCREDIBLY slow and we had no choice but to use them since my sister in law broke her ankle. The doorways were also a little narrow to fit the wheelchair through and the elevator doors close very quickly and might be trouble for handicapped folks. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling with a family or requests a room for more than 2 people because you might be sleeping on the floor!

One of my favorites.......
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/09
As someone who travels extensively around the U.S - -I've seen lots of hotels -- this is one of my favorites. If it were in New York, Miami, LA or Chicago, the prices would be double to triple. Magnificent old hotel with charm that new hotels cannot duplicate --even the hallways have been 'scented' -- I look forward to staying at this hotel each time I visit Cleveland

Would stay there again!
By Jennifer, 10/1/07
This is a beautiful hotel with great rooms, very helpful staff and great restaurants. The hotel is located in Tower City which was easy to get to from the airport via the RTA. With-in walking distance from the hotel are the Hard Rock Cafe, the House of Blues, Quicken Arena, Jacobs Field, and the Warehouse District. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Science Museum, and Browns Stadium were a short train ride away also. A great place to stay!

Elegant hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/06
I am from New Jersey and was very impressed with the elegance of this hotel. If this hotel were in NYC, it would cost a minimum of $500 a night! The rooms are luxurious and spacious. The staff delivers high end customer service. The only drawback is that it's not safe to walk around at night because everyone leaves the city after business hours. I was here for business reasons but had the opportunity to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which is a MUST SEE in Cleveland. The Warehouse district is close by and has some trendy restaurants for dining. Other than that, there was no where to eat but in the hotel. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with very good customer service. A bargain in my opinion!

A great place to stay.
By darko714, 6/26/06
This hotel is first class. Highs: Location--on a cool part of the riverwalk. Restaurant: Maybe the best on the rivewalk. Certainly the best I've tried. Facilities: Nice pool, and use of a great exercise room on the top floor of the Watermark, just across the rivewalk. Staff: Always eager to help and serve. Room; spacious and immaculate. The bathroom was well appointed and had a very useful dimmer for the lights. Internet service could be ordered on the TV and, although a bit slow, was comprehensive and got the job done. Lows: Pay per minute computers and pay per page fax in "office" by lobby would be more at home at Motel 6. Some hallways not air conditioned.

Should've been better
By Carrie, 5/11/06
A stately, attractive facility, the staff was polite and helpful, and the hotel's restaurants are quite good. But several problems made my stay less than perfect. I was in town with a group of about 400 fellow professionals for a conference, which was hosted at the hotel, and the elevator situation was pathetic. The hotel has four elevators, and they are quite small, so even with all working, they'd have been busy. But for our convention, two were out of order. That meant three days of climbing the stairs to my 6th floor room. The exercise didn't bother me, but being unable to get basic elevator service in a 4-star hotel was ridiculous. Then, the final day of the convention (a Saturday) several floors --including mine -- were roused at 5:30 a.m. by the hotel fire alarm, which went off for about 15 minutes before we finally got word from the front desk that it was a false alarm. So, poor elevator situation and a ruined night's sleep made this a less-than-hoped for experience.
