No Longer be Staying Here for Cleveland Trips
The lobby and restaurant of the Cleveland Renaissance are absolutely terrific, but the horrible staff and unimpressive guest rooms lead me to suggest that you choose one of the other downtown Cleveland hotels. I have stayed here multiple times in the past, and had positive experiences, but this once great hotel is no longer what it once was. The staff were rude and disinterested, even at check-in, and preferred to talk among themselves rather than attend to the customers waiting. The parking situation was truly a nightmare even on a work day, and the parking garage itself is rather run-down (in addition to parking there for $24, which was supposed to be comped but nonetheless was charged a week later, my room had a great view of the disgusting garage). The room also had no ability to adjust the temperature, which luckily for me was not a problem given the moderate temperature, but beware this summer's heat. Bathroom was also not thoroughly cleaned and certainly was not what I expected from this hotel.
I would suggest looking the Marriott Key Center, Ritz Carlton (only a few dollars more), Hyatt Arcade, or Doubletree Hotel, all of which are by far and away superior to the Cleveland Renaissance.
