Do we have to pay for the air we breath to?
By Lindsay, 5/22/12
We come to Columbus every year for a concert in May. The past few years we have stayed at a really cheap motel outside of the city but this year we thought we would splurg and stay somewhere nice. The hotel itself is in great condition and very clean. However they charge you for everything! Parking is $23 a night! Thats just crazy to me! If you are a guest of the hotel and paying a pretty penny to stay there maybe they should make parking a little more affordable. Also the internet is $9 and to watch half the stuff on there TV it is another $5 per episode or movie. Also the room we had was for 4 people and they put 2 double beds in there. Have you ever shared a double bed with a guy? Its like sleeping in a coffin! Then they wont let you turn the air down past 65. I am a reasonable person and 65 is a resonable temp but try it when 4 people are getting ready. It is quite uncomfortable! So my weekend that was suppose to be enjoyable and relaxing in a nice hotel instead of a cheap motel ended up costing an arm and 2 legs! I was more than disappointed and ended up leaving a day early! Wouldnt dare to ask for a refund knowing if they are so hard up for cash that they limit your AC use they wouldnt be willing to refund a night! Believe what you read in the reviews cause most of it is the truth...unfortunately!

Don't let them park your nice car....
By Chuck Veppert, 4/30/12
I stayed there last week and used the valet service ($23). Once I got home I walked around the rear of my NEW truck and find the bumper caved in and fender damaged ($1,000 to repair). I called the hotel right away and was told that someone would investigate the security video and call back. After 48 hours I called again and they had no record of my first call. I reported it again and two days later got a form letter saying that they are not responsible for any damage once you leave the lot. They would not investigate nor look at the security video. Sorry about your luck.... I have insurance but it burns me that they wouldn't even investigate.

mixed bag
By Alexa R, 5/19/10
This hotel looks great and it was generally clean and comfortable. The beds were luxuriously made up (a bit too much by my standards) and slept well. The air conditioning was dismal (which is one of my most important criteria for a comfortable hotel) and the wifi was ridiculously expensive. I attended a two-day meeting here and the set up was generally good for that, although it would've been great if they'd made some arrangements to take orders for lunch BEFORE they told us lunch wasn't being provided and the whole lot of us (who felt like we had few options since we weren't locals) had to stand in line at the over-priced restaurant on the second floor. (The food was good, though -- I'll give them that.) Given that experience, we decided to pre-order our breakfast for the next morning. It still arrived 15 minutes late. The food was tasty, but they didn't even bring simple things like salt and pepper or butter. Like I said, it was a mixed bag. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel, but they seem to struggle with the details. If they charged less, I might be more inclined to be forgiving of this fact, but their rates certainly don't relect this.

Great place to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/5/08
The room was wonderful. The bed and pillows I wish I had in my house. I asked for extra towels and they said no problem. The only down side is parking other then that I got a great comfortable room for a good price.

Frustrating
By ann, 7/5/08
The AC didn't work well. We could hear EVERYTHING next door including a man brushing his teeth. Parking is expensive and extremely inconvenient. Not a four star. I've stayed at Super 8s that were much better.

Awful
By erika, 4/11/08
The people who worked there were wonderful!!!The rooms(all 4 of them) were awful along with $3 Aquafina, the air conditioning didn't work. No extras like most high end hotels. No swimming pool!! Internet was Expensive!!! Most hotels don't even charge for WIFI! Ridiculous! And if you have kids don't stay here, not child friendly at all! Also if you plan to sleep, good luck! You can hear everything(EVERYTHING) the people in the next room are doing!!!!

Horrible Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/08
My husband and I were recently in Columbus celebrating his 40th birthday and had a wonderful restaurant in the city but a horrible lodging experience at the Hyatt. The walls were paper-thin and we could hear everything next door to us. After a wonderful dinner that evening, we awakened at 12A.M to a party next door that continued until 4A.M. After 6 phone calls to the front desk, we were never offered another room or compensation for any of our payment. Stay anywhere but the Hyatt. They must not have a "No Party" policy as other high-end hotels. The hotel is not very upscale at all, other than the lobby.

Miserable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/22/08
Stayed there for 3 days in December; probably the poorest quality Hyatt I've ever visited. One-cup-at-a-time coffee maker, bad room service, and cumbersome and overpriced wi-fi system. None of that mattered though, because the room was so hot we couldn't sleep. The AC had been converted to heat & there was no air circulation. First call, they sent up a guy who pretended to fix the problem but didn't. Second call, they admitted they couldn't fix it, but offered to "pre-cool" another room. When we asked them how they could do that without AC, & they didn't know. Finally they gave us two 1970s-era table fans, which at least moved the warm air. One of the fans quit in the middle of the night. When we left, one of the valet parkers messed up the steering adjuster knob, which fell on the floor as we were driving away. Had to put it back together ourselves. The people were very nice, and the room had a nice view of the Capitol.

Hyatt beds are to die for.
By DanM, 8/24/07
Wonderful alfresco dining, friendly sports bar, attentive and professional staff, impeccably clean and well furnished room. Typical Hyatt prices on all of this. Great if you can afford it!
