A Bit Off
By MOB, 3/22/11
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. The pool was very warm which was great for our grandson's first swim, but not very refreshing. The hot tub was indeed hot, but the jets did not work properly and the walls and floor are chipped and need refinishing. The elevator did not give a warm and fuzzy feeling. Noises and bumps were a bit scary. Whatever they are using to clean either doesn't or leaves a really odd smell in halls and common areas. The heating/air conditioning unit in our room was so loud that when it was operating you could not hear the TV and it woke me every time it came on throughout the night. Really loud! They really need to renovate the rooms.

Great for the price!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/10
I recently stayed at this Holiday Inn while my husband was recovering from surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. It was much cheaper than any of the (decent) hotels in Downtown Cleveland, and only 15 minutes from the Clinic. Being that both it and the Cleveland Clinic are right off of I-90 made it an even better choice. (Didnt have to worry about navigating a strange city by myself) Overall my experience was good. The bed was comfy (and NO bed bugs!!), both the front desk and housekeeping were friendly and attentive, and the FREE breakfast buffet (coupons were given by the front desk at check-in) was very tasty. My only complaints are that there was no mini fridge in my room and that the computer chair didnt lean back which are both pretty minor (to me anyway). If we are ever need to stay in the Cleveland area again, will definitely book this hotel!!

great desk staff/shabby, noisy hotel
By TerriA, 11/10/08
The front desk was friendly and helpful as was the restaurant/bar staff. The indoor pool was in the middle of the hotel and very noisy. People using the pool until very late and it seems that people talk louder around the pool, especially children. The toilet was broken and the hairdryer caught on fire. The only phone in the suite had a dialtone but when you tried to call the front desk or anywhere, there was a message that the call was unable to be placed at this time. The furniture seemed old and dirty. We had a suite and it was quite small. I should have know this was going to be a disappointment - the room rate was too reasonable. The food at the restaurant was poor. There was no menu, just a prime rib buffet and the food was cold and not all that great. I had breakfast the next morning at the buffet and it again was cold. I do not want to visit this hotel again

Wouldn't stay again
By Ticked, 7/13/08
As others have said, the staff was pleasant...however I also have stayed at MANY Holiday Inns and Expresses nationwide and I did have some disappointments with my stay. I did book my room over the phone and so I did not check to make sure they would have the usual amenities I have become accustomed to, I was surprised to find there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room. There was no bedding for the pull out couch (although when I called the front desk they happily brought it up). They did not bring up a crib as requested, and there was a horrific squelch coming from the air conditioner all night long. They came to try and fix it twice, but couldn't. The building was completely booked so they could not move us into a new room. However, the manager on duty came up and offered to credit back to us the points we used for the night. Again, the people were pleasant but my stay could have been a lot better. I can't wait for Holiday Inn to e-mail me my satisfaction survey!!!

Not Holiday Inn Material
By deb, 7/8/08
I have stayed at many Holiday Inns across the country, and this one is way below average. Although the lobby, restaurant were nice, as well as the staff, the maid service was a different issue! My husband and I were in this hotel for an extended period due to relocation, and the maid staff was completely inadequate. Most days I cleaned my own room, made my own bed, emptied my own trash. Some days they did not even come at all. I would have to make a special request for a linen change once a week, or it didn't get done. They never vacuumed, or cleaned the tub or the sink. I would go into the hall and hunt down a vacuum and do it myself. Basically all they did was change out the towels on the days they showed up. If my husband's company wasn't footing the bill, we would have checked out after a few days and gone somewhere else.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/20/08
I have been pretty disappointed with my stay at the Holiday Inn in Westlake. The hallways smell of cigarettes. Children are left running wildly through the hallways at 11:30 at night, the beds are really stiff. Had to ask for more towels, more soap and a bath mat and shower cap. It all just seems a little on the cheap side. Sad because the lobby is beautiful.

handiman's haven
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/06
This hotel needs to be maintained better and updated. Our carpeting around the airconditioning unit was buckled and water damaged. The ceiling in our bathroom had cracked and been re-plastered several times (it appeared) and pealing once again. The lighting in the pool area was very dim and the hot tub was cool instead of hot. The buffet area from a wedding reception earlier today is still messy and it's been about 5 hours since it ended. Only one elevator is working and the ice maching down the hall from us is broken so we have to go upstairs to get ice. We arrived back from shopping at 10:00 and the back entrance from the parking lot was unlocked for anyone to enter. The sign says that you must use your room key to enter from 9:00 P.M. on. The upside is that there is wireless access (I'm writing this in my room) and it's close to great shopping in a very nice community. Another plus is that there is plenty of parking.

Beautiful place, wonderful stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/18/05
This was the best hotel experience I've ever had. I've only ever been to 3 hotels in my life, so this may not be saying much, but I really enjoyed it. The whole building was so beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The woman who brought our room service even stayed for a minute and chatted about the movie we were watching, it was great :) The only thing I regret, is that I didn't have enough time to experience all there was to do there. I only ended up spending time in the game room. (On pinball and Mortal Kombat mostly). We stayed there for 5 days, while visiting the Rock & Roll Hall and Football Hall of Fame, among other things. It's close to everywhere we wanted to go, so it was perfect for us. I'd definitely go again.
