Fairview Lodge, Minot

To start with, EVERY hotel in Minot is ripping people off because of the oil boom right now. This place was no exception. 70 bucks a night for a seedy room that should rent by the hour. Bedbugs, yes! I had to stay there because there were no rooms available there period. I paid a few days in advance so I wouldn't loose the room due to high demand. We were told to evacuate since the river was rising and they feared it would flood. I left like everyone else. I asked if I'd be reimbursed for my advance pay and was told when I came back I would. Well, I called today and they told me they woudn't pay my money back. I asked them nicely and still no results. All this PLUS I noticed a huge blood splatter on the ceiling when I was leaving. Now I'm staying in Williston and paying much less for a nicer room.

the owner was very disrespectful and made comments about my breasts. the place is just nasty.....

HUGE ROOMS!Clean and very friendly.I'll be back.The rates are the best value for your buck.

I was there when the (lady?)claimed there were bedbugs in the rooms-it's B.S.. The manager was nice enough to allow her and her homeless family stay there at a reduced rate and she brought other family members in and took advantage of his good will.After being asked to leave because of reservations for Hostfest she cried BEDBUGS!and demanded three weeks refund.I personally wathed their room being cleaned and 5 large bags of trash and food was removed because she would'nt allow the maid's in her room to clean. The owner had to throw the towel's,mattresses and everything out because they were so filthy and they still had the nerve to try to get money back.They should go back to the cave they crawled out of!#?*&#'s!!Honest customers end up paying for scamming deadbeats like them.Take a shower,you'll stop itching!!

In spite of the higher rates due to the booming oil industry and it's associated businesses vying for living space,plus displaced family's from other less fortunate states,I found that the Fairview Lodge has maintained the cheapest rates in this part of the state and their rooms are easily twice the size of anyone elses.My wife,my kids,and I,come twice a year and this has been our choice for five years now.The rooms are still well worth the rate!The rooms are very clean and the service very good.

Definitely bedbugs in the room on the ground floor west end. Not good!

Stayed here over a weekend. Room needed a good cleaning. Towels were paper thin. There was a loud humming sound all night - not the air conditioner in our room - but something attached to or in the ventilation system of the building- very annoying. Would not recommend this hotel.

I just stayed there and it's disgusting. Big rooms, yes. Filthy, yes, and everything else you have read about the down side is true. The place should be condemned. For those who say it's nice, shame on them. Do they get a free room next time? This place is dirty, dark, damp, dingy. Priced right? I stay in motels all over ND,SD,.MT, and find the coorperate rate at most nice places (Comfort Inn, Days Inn, etc) to be $55-$70. I paid $59 +T at this place (all Motels in Minot were full) and I would NEVER stay there again. You'd be better off walking across the street to the Minot Zoo, pay the admission price and sleep in the Monkey cage. I'm still hoping I didn't pick up any "critters" from that nasty room!

We decided to stop for the night in Minot rather than continue on to Bismarck as we had originally planned. It was late and we were tired. Unfortunately, just about every hotel/motel was full. After stopping at half a dozen places and making about a dozen phone calls, we finally found a vacancy at this place. It was in poor area of town and next to busy street. I kept hoping that outside appearance was deceiving but to my dismay, it wasn't. Our room was on second floor and I prayed that the staircase did not collapse before we made it to the top. The room was grungy and the carpet filthy. There were no glasses/cups of any kind in the room altho there was a tabletop refrig that worked and a microwave plus a standing fan but have no idea whether they worked or not. The room was "No smoking" but smelled as if there had been a fire and someone doused cold water on it. The bed was lumpy and the bedding had seen better days.............I actually dreaded having to sleep in it. The one redeeming feature was...........hot water! I will not stay here again.
