Days Inn Salisbury, Salisbury

Dirty dirty dirty. Weather was hot so we put the AC on. Smelled like someone urinated in it. We turned it off and then proceeded to open the window to air it out. No screens on the windows. Big drop to a concrete platform below. We have three kids, not safe. TV cable was loose and had to be adjusted often to work. The door had to be slammed to get the lock to engaged. Could be pulled closed then pushed open from hall. Not safe. The bathroom was a mess. Grout was nasty. Thank good it was only one night.

I made my reservations through the 800 number for Days Inn. I was looking for a pet friendly hotel and was told Days Inn was pet friendly and went ahead and made the reservations. We arrived and I paid for my room for the week. When we got to our room it was filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. We asked for another room and were told that we would be able to switch the next morning. We should have left then. The next morning we moved to another room. I watched the maid go into the room that we had just vacated and make up the beds without even changing the sheets. She never vacuumed either. When we investigated the new room we found a six inch spike laying on the floor by the bedside as well as cigarette ashes and partially smoked joints. The tub had hair all over it from the previous resident. I literally had to clean our room. However, one of our party did attract scabies from the sheets from this hotel. When I complained about our room management then turned on me and said I did not pay for my dog which I knew that I had because I had been quoted a price through the 800 line. They tried to double it and told me I had to pay it. I did complain to the Days Inn 800 line and they reimbursed me for the overage that Days Inn Salisbury charged me. While walking our dog we saw drug deals going down in the area. NOT A VERY GOOD PLACE TO STAY.

The room was dirty, unclean by my standards. I went and asked for air freshner. I should have asked for a mop and vacum too. The rates were not as listed and the people(owners) themselves seemed ashamed of the place, the price and the overall accommodations. I should have left then...but the Location was fantastic,but after a night there I figured it is not worth the saving!
