Can't get much worse!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/11
There was not one thing I liked about this hotel. The hall when you walked in was reaking of smoke and carpet was stained. The room was dark (guess they didn't want you to see the imperfections). Bed linens were dingy and grey. What looks like mold on the ceiling had been painted over but started to come through the paint. Bathroom had very distinct mold behind the commode; the shower had mold on the seams and soap dish. Did a preview of the breakfast and decided there was not appealing thing on it. We quickly showered and left as soon as we could.

good price, not cool location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/11
clean, loved the linens! for a hotel in this price range. Breakfast was included but I thought it to be lacking! Not into canned corned beef hash, you know? Room met our needs for the evening. advise: skip the breakfast

NotSoGood
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/06
Surprised to find hotel in midst of renovations with a long way to go. Noticed that tourists walking in from the road were given a price as good as my prepaid advance "Good Buy" price.

It Could Be Better
By GeorgeannO, 8/23/05
We visited Statesville in June and had a very nice stay at the hotel. The service was good and the staff was very friendly. However, on our second visit, we found the staff a bit unfriendly at first. There wasn't any place to put our luggage in the room and the staff had to search for a bench to place it on. We finally got one later in the evening. We asked for a handicapped room as close as possible to the lobby and was put in a room on the other side of the building. It was a great hardship walking every day to the resturant or lobby. Who ever heard of handicapped rooms on the other side of the hotel! The ADA should hear about that. They are presently renovating the hotel. There are lots of noises at this time. There is also a large freight train that passes by every few hours in back of the hotel. It reminded me of 'My Cousin Vinny" movie.

Dirty Linens!!!
By Amanda, 5/11/05
Most importantly, the bedding was dirty. It had to be changed on our arrival. The bathrooms and the rest of the room appeared clean. In the restaurant, there were dirty, soiled placements at three of the four seats at our table. The staff was pleasant and willing to bring clean mats, when asked. The hotel is location just off I-77, convenient to Charlotte and Statesville.
