Arrogance Galore!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/09
Arrogant staff and no cameras in garage. My car was parked in valet, was hit , and if there have been security cameras the accident could have been captured on tape. To add to this incident the hotel has refused to accept responsibility and I paid the repairs out of pocket. How convenient not to have security cameras???

Terrible employees!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/08
This was the worst hotel stay that I have ever encountered! From the beginning the staff was very rude to us. We were a younger group of people, and from the get go we could tell that they had a problem. We were told not to stand on the sidewalk, we were standing there waiting to walk across the street. After we told them that we were guest they told us that we needed to step inside and not be standing around. I complained on this guy that said this and pointed him out to the lady and she said she couldn't do anything. They lied to us about the kind of room that we were getting, so that was another big disappointment! The room was very tiny. Outdated TV, bathroom was extremely small, bed was uncomfortable, and many other problems. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Only assets are staff and location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/01/08
This hotel is NOT up to Marriott standards. I wondered why in the photos there were no pictures of the bathroom. Now I know, the bathroom was the smallest and most outdated I have ever seen in a hotel. I hit my leg on the toilet more than once since it is in the middle of the floor between the sink and the tub. The upholstered chair in our rooom had a patch obviously sewn on the arm. Everything about the decor was old and needs to be redone. The TV had a rounded screen and the bottom score scroll on ESPN wasn't even visible. The hotel is in GREAT need of updating, even though we were told that it had been remodeled. The beds are hard as boards, definitely not the Marriott resort matresses. Visitors to Charlotte deserve better. I was surprised to be told that this was a cooperate managed hotel. I definitely expected more from the Marriott brand. On the positive side, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the location was good for the function we attended, and we liked the food in Champions. My best recommendation for accomodations in downtown Charlotte is to stay at the Westin where we were initially booked. Not as cental to the city but close enough and newer.

Marriott Charlotte City Center, Charlotte, NC "Dora's point of View"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/07
I fell in love with The Marriott in Charlotte, NC. It was my first time at a big time hotel. Although, it was only for one night... I fell right at home. It's something about the hotel that had me captured since I walked in. The satff and the whole atmosphere made me fell like a celebrity from the time I step foot inside till the time I step outside again. Oh and let me not forget the bed felt like I was sleepind on a cloud from heaven. Till this day i've never slept like i slept at The Marriott. no bed has came close. P.S "hey had a wonderful breakfast" Thank you, - Dora

Nice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/26/07
It has a good location. Close to many restaurants, museums, great night life, all within walking distance. The service was good. The hotel staff was cordial and helpful. The one negative is the bed. The bed was HARD as a rock. It did have some lining added to it in order to mask the quality of the mattress, but it did not work. The bed left me with body aches. The Marriott in Raleigh has phenomenal beds. They are just perfect. The Marriott in downtown Raleigh overshadows the Marriott in Charlotte, 100%.

Poor service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/07
I stayed at this hotel as my son was starting college in Charlotte. I chose Marriott because of the reputation. I found this hotel to be one of the worst I have stayed at, and expensive. The pool was almost unswimmable because of the chlorine and how cold it was. The beds have down mattress covers, pillows and blankets. Despite the manager telling me they were hypoallergenic, I couldn't breath and had to go out and buy benadryl. The room was small, too small for the price. The worst part was when I was leaving, with luggage in tow, and a 4 year old, nobody would assist me to get a cab, most likely because I was dressed in sweat pants and sweat shirt to help my son with his moving in. The lady wearing the beautiful suit had 3 people ask her if she needed assistance. When I complained to the manager, he asked "what do you want me to do". It was an awful experience, and I will never stay there again. There is another Marriott right outside the city, stay at that one, it's beautiful!! Only no pool ...

One of the best
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/06
This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! My kids ask to go to Charlotte to stay in the hotel. It was clean, even with a note indicating everthing had been cleaned (I hope not to see this hotel on Dateline with a blacklight). The roomservice was friendly, timely and delicious. If you are needing to stay in Charlotte, I would recommed this hotel!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/27/05
Location, location, location...if you need to be in uptown the Marriott is to be...the rooms are clean and consistent. Every week I stay in the Marriott and I there are no suprises. If you happen to be in concierge lounge say Hello to Gary..

Best ever!!!
By BillD, 09/26/05
We've stayed at many Marriotts in the state and never one as clean and the staff as nice. It is located in a great area, close to whatever needs you desire.
