Sheraton Long Island Hotel, Hauppauge

The lobby & bar are beautiful. We checked into our non smoking room to find it was smoked in and then tried to cover with some nasty deodorant spray. Not to mention there were screaming kids bouncing off the walls next door and rattling the furniture in our room. They moved us to another room which was defintely non smoking but faced the indoor pool full of screaming kids and the constant flash of cameras in the room. Both rooms appeared to have water damaged carpets with the slight smell of mildew.

We bid on Priceline for this hotel room and got it for $70 per night which is reasonable for this area. HOWEVER........... This hotel is not worth more than $39.99 per night as it is extremely old and dingy, in desperate need of remodeling, and you cannot make coffee in your room as they have one-cup coffee brewers w/ full size coffee bags. The carpets were SO DIRTY I wouldn't take off my shoes. The Bathroom was grungy and dirty looking, the hallways very dim and dark, etc. Sheraton should be ashamed to claim this dump as one of their hotels. Now the good- the beds were fluffy and comfortable! And the lobby area is very nice. (misleading).. Nothing else nice to say about this place.

I loved this hotel. It feels like your safe at home. Its like my second home. Im always there. At least 3 times a month. My kids love it. They swim in the pool and i am relaxed and enjoying my time in the excersise room right near the indoor pool. For a 3 star hotel, its awesome. looking foward to going back in 3 days!

I thought I got a good deal on the room for 2 nights. Little did I know the amount of excess charges I would get throughout my stay. There was an amazing amount of extra charges compared to other hotel chains I have stayed at which had none of the listed. There was a refrigerator charge per night of an unreasonable $20 (which was necessary for our wine and champange bottles), there was a room service delivery charge (of an unreasonable amount), and an included gratuity for room service (which should not be automatically included since it's delivery, not sit down). I've never spent so much on a hotel stay! However, the positives were the staff. All staff from the bar/restaurant manager, the bartender, the Club Lounge server and the maid service were very kind, friendly and courteous. If this were not the case, I would have had an extremely unpleasant stay.
