Royal Inn Sucks!!!!!
By Mik-e South Florida, 02/04/10
The ragheads told me when I called that the room was $100 When I got there the sand ni$$er told me the room is $125 because I had a corporate credit card. If it weren't for the bullet proof glass that this foriegner was hiding behind, I would have jump over the counter and cold cocked this towel head in the head!!!!

I like that it is so quiet and that nobody bothers u and u can do what ever u want. The thing I hate the most is the parking alot and breaksfast service is not breaksfast it is a snack and some of the service sucks. there isnt alot of cable channel and the tv and no internet either.

Terrible
By Bernadette, 11/17/09
The only thing I liked about this Inn was where in Manhasset it is located. First of all the parking is a nightmare, as the restaurant next door (valet parking) parks cars all over in the same lot as the motel. We had a wake to go to at night and had a terrible time trying to get our van out of the space with an SUV parked behind us (pretty much blocking our way out). Thank goodness it was neither a hot nor a cold night, as the "unit" was plugged in, but neither the air nor the heat worked. We were told there was a continental breakfast starting at 7. At 7:20 a.m. the food had not yet showed up. We had a funeral to attend and could not wait for the food to arrive. Near our nightstand there were some wires sticking out of the wall. Have no idea what they went to, just hanging there. We stayed in this motel about 19 years ago and things were bad then. Thought they would have improved, but they really have not. Also, price is all over the map. The website has one price, they will give you another and in the end it's hard to tell where they got the amount from. If you are still interested in staying there, check out the price on the web before you pay the way overpriced amount that they will charge you if you don't question it.

Great Short Stay Location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/06
Spent a few sweaty hours in a room here and gotta say can't beat the price. Private parking helps avoid unwanted eyes and the restaurant next door will provide an alibi if you need to account for your time. the room was clean and a full wall mirror added just the right touch.

HORRIBLE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/24/06
tHE PLACE WAS FOR CERTAIN PEOPLE WHO MAKE A LIVING AT CHEAP MOTEL, i WOULDN'T CAll it the royal inn more like the junky inn. Manhasset needs a decent motel or hotel. I needed a place not too expensive but clean and neat and decent furnishings and a good smell to it, bedding not so cheap, floor not falling thru and hearing all the sounds of everyone staying there. I was visiting my grandchildren in portwashington, I prefer to stay at a motel then be in the way. This place was so bad. Was only worth $50.00 if anything

convenant lodging while visiting
By Mart, 11/29/05
The hotel is well located if you are going to be in the northshore area.Room service was the best i've seen in any hotel that we have stayed at in a very long time. the rooms decor is dated and they are in the mitest of renovating the entire hotel. good heat excellent hot water. limited pecks. not internet acess except was able to pick up weak wifi siginal at night. twin bds for 3 days and nights came to a total of $450.00 including taxes . i thought was very good price for area.

fabulous staff and service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/05
We stayed at the royal Inn for a wedding. My wife put her diamond earrings in tissue paper and it got thrown into the garbage. The whole staff went looking in every plastic garbage bag and into the garbage container till they located these very expensive earrings. They saved us from having a miserable experience. Whenever we asked for something like more towels or hair dryer or hangers ,they were there in a minute. The room was large and comfortable.I would recommend this place to anyone.

Unbelieveable!
By KennanR, 07/14/05
My family stayed there in two rooms for four days. My room had a bathroom fan that was so noisy it was like a jackhammer. It took two days to get it fixed (all they did was disconnect it so I had no fan for the next two days). The vending machine on the second floor was out of order, with no sign posted. I was told at the beginning that my credit card would not be charged until the end of my stay, but that didn't happen - not only did they charge my account every day, they *overcharged* me by over $700 that I'm in the process of trying to get back. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Frightening
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/22/04
The thermostat was broken and the room was about 80 degrees, in February. We moved to a different room, same story. Very basic and threadbare. They charged my VISA for an extra night and it took months to get my money back. The Chinese restaurant next door is good though.

Very Dissapointing
By William M, 05/23/04
This hotel does not have half of the items listed on the web site. There is no bathtub, no refrigerator, and no phone in the bath room, extremely poor conditions of the room’s air conditioner. The atmosphere at this hotel and the poor locks on the doors is such that you may want to sleep with a chair in front of the door. The shower head was pointed to the wall and could not be adjusted. My room had scratched initials on the vanity and an air conditioner with a broken thermostat. I spent one night there and if I had time I would have checked out and paid triple for a better hotel.
On a positive note the sheets were clean and there were no insects in the room. It is not worth the money. If you must stay there a night you should be fine, but I would not consider this hotel for an extended stay.
