Broadway At Times Square Hotel, New York

My 15 year old daughter and I chose this hotel on our trip to New York City. I have only been to the city once before. We chose this hotel because it was well priced and very close to Times Square. It was very close and we walked to most places. Great restaurant btw, Havana Central, practically right next door! We had a very nice room, well decorated. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our room was always clean every day, we stayed for 4 nights. One day when the wifi was not working they recommended one of their other hotels, right down the street. That hotel was nice as well (beautiful lobby) and had a very friendly staff. They day we were leaving they offered a shuttle service to the airport for about the same price as a cab. I felt very comfortable in this hotel and would definitely stay there again! Overall, great experience in NYC!

Have to agree with the poster about the whole booking problem. If you book through Choice you get a reservation number and price. Then later on you get a confirmation from Applecore with a higher price and totally different reservation number. When I called to find out what was going on and why the price was higher the person I spoke to at Applecore was very rude. I was going to cancel, but ended up going. It does create a bit of a problem when you check in. It made things very stressful and confusing. At least the service at the hotel itself was good!

However, when a guest checks in, we try our best to make sure that everything is consistent to avoid later misunderstanding, which is the reason why we asked you to initial the rate on the registration card. Nevertheless, when we found out that the rates did not match, the front desk agent tried to get the correct rates. Since the rates in our system and in the Choice system were the same, our front desk agent did not have the authority to change your rate. We are very sorry if you felt that the front desk was rude, but he was really trying to help you. Just to let you know that in December 2009 we received a Gold Award which is based on property maintenance and customer service. The issue was resolved the next morning and the night was discounted by our General Manager. The explanation of the bill was also given to you by her over the phone when you called the property. When you book a hotel online and arrive with a printed confirmation, do you have confidence that the hotel will honor that? Don't be so sure if you make your reservations via Choice Hotels! I chose this hotel carefully after reading many reviews. It was a special occasion coming to NYC to celebrate my wife's birthday. We arrived at 11 PM exited and even planned a late dinner after check-in in a nice nearby restaurant. However the reception person printed a registration form with rates about $50 higher per night. When I showed him my printed confirmation letter which showed the original rates, he said there's nothing he can do and "either sign the form withe higher rates or you cannot check in". We asked him to first get the room and then sort this out but he refused and even suggested that if we don't like those rates maybe look for another hotel, which I thought was outrageous! He then tried to call Choice Hotels. It took some 20 minutes of waiting to talk to them, and amazingly they declined my rates too! After finally talking with Choice Hotels supervisor, it turned out that my rates were raised "because I called them to ask for a room facing the back-side" to avoid street noise. Needless to say - they never mentioned it would change the rate, and the hotel does not charge any extra for that anyway. It was after midnight when we finally checked in after giving up and agreeing to sign the registration form. We were nervous and frustrated and had to dine in a fast food place since the restaurant already closed. The matter was settled only the following day, when Choice hotels customer service called me, admitted their mistake, reset the rates and said they'll even discount one of the nights to compensate me. It was unbelievable that when we finally checked out, that additional discount was forgotten! (we did not bother to fix that) The hotel management claimed it was all Choice Hotel's fault. I thought that the guy at the reception should have honored our letter, check us in and then sort this out instead of offering us to look elsewhere. Last - the hotel and room was very nice. Too bad it was overshadowed by the Check in experience.

Very good hotel,great location,very friendly staf, clean rooms, good and tasty breakfast,made our stay in New York like home!

My daughter and I came to NYC to see Mary Poppins. I chose the Comfort Inn based on location and then the price was great. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the room, granted they are small but who cares when all you need the room for is to sleep and shower. The complimentary breakfast fits anyone from a healthy eater to the donut person. The location is perfect. We have plans to see a Broadway show every April and the place we will always stay will be the Comfort Inn Midtown. I recommend this place!! :)

You needn't worry about the caliber of the Comfort Inn Midtown. The room was small, but no smaller than many in pricier NYC hotels. Plenty of room in the bathroom (good water pressure and supply of hot water), and both bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. In winter the heating is uneven, with some guests telling of a cold room, and others having a room so warm that the guests turned on the air conditioner. (a problem in some pricier hotels, too) Even if you don't want the breakfast (which is satisfactory), you can sit at a table in front of a large window with early coffee and enjoy the sights on the street. Rates vary wildly, and once your reservation's been made, you can't exchange it for a better, special deal. If you need the room to collapse in after a full day in the city, you couldn't do better for the money.

All excellent, too much wonderful! Clean rooms, good continental breakfast, excellents workers... Good location, friendly people and ideal place to stay!!!!!!! I have not to say more....Hope back soon again there....

great location,for night life, traveled alone cant wait to get back. time square was 1/2 a block away subway very handle to statue of liberty or central park. it was my first time to new york and i fond my way around very easily.

the room was okay, not the cleanest room i have ever stayed in. the price was fair for new york, however the service was horrible.
