Holiday Inn Grand Island, Grand Island

I'm dissafisfied with this hotel, because of the overall room cleanliness. The rooms inside are clean and in order,but there was no refridgerator and microwaves, and on the "private" balconies there is an outrageous amount of spiders, and cockroaches. We had to change rooms, because we had a cockroache inside the room, and due to the rediculous amount of spiders on the balcony it was not suitable for a 3 yrs old to be going onto it. The new room was fine on the inside, but not the outside. At the top of the outside stanchions, on every single stanchion there were considerable sized wasps nest. The common areas, good. Pool and gym, outstanding, exterior pest contol..AWFUL! If you have young children, don't bring them here. Also, the hotel was under renovation, and there was things being renovated, and the elavators really shouldn't be operational. Regardless of the renovations, the hotel still charged full price for the rooms. The employees were nice, but the overall cosmetics and lack of pest control over shadowed the hospitality of the employees. Fix the problem areas, and maybe this hotel will be a 3 star.

This hotel was the dirtiest, most rundown Holiday Inn facility we've ever been in. The entire place seemed to be in a state of disrepair, and it smelled like mold in the hallways. Our room had a balcony, but the balcony itself was covered in dust, dirt and spider webs. It looked like it hadn't been swept off or cleaned in years. The glass doors leading onto the balcony were equally dirty. Wallpaper was peeling up, carpets were dirty looking. We stayed one night and got out of there.

We planned a 3 day stay at this hotel in order to visit the falls. I paid in advance, so leaving to find another hotel was not an option. The first room that was offered to us was dirty, the room had a bad odor, there was water stains on the walls, and dead fruit flies as well as living flies swarming around. The second room that we were put in was no better. To compensate us, the manager gave two free breakfast and drinks coupons that was only good for one day. I would not stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone else!

Stayed here because trade show was being held there. It's old, dirty,and smells. stayed on 5th floor....elevators never worked right. Light bulbs burned out, cracked glass panels, dirty-spider webs in rooms...no toilet paper. The heater was either on full blast or completely off. Carpets dirty...and did I mention smelled like mold. Look elsewhere.

We recently tried to stay at this "hotel" but our room was so infested with spiders, we had to leave. We asked for another room but management wouldn't accommodate us. We asked them to assist us in finding another Holiday Inn but they wouldn't assist us. We asked for a refund but they wouldn't consider it. Since we paid in advance, we lost four nights reservation costs ( $450). The room was too infested with spiders to stay. We even went and bought bug spray but the more we sprayed, the more spiders came out of the wood work. This is not only a poor excuse for a hotel but is also certainly not a "resort". Rooms are old, staff is unfriendly and management isn't interested in helping and serving their guests. Not only would I not stay there again, I would not recommend this "hotel" to anybody.

Took a long weekend at this hotel for a hockey tournament. Rooms were clean and kept well. Service was excellent. Staff could not have been more accomodating, and it's not easy to put up with fifteen 10 year olds. Pool was great. Would definitely recommend!

We could not get out of the hotel fast enough! We booked a non smoking room mid week during winter, they gave us smoking then we had to fight with a manager until they gave in. They had to clean the room so we sat in the lobby for 2 hours before it was clean. They did not even offer a drink on them or anything, even though this was there mistake and we were only 1 of a dozen or so cars in the parking lot. Then a car got hit by a snow plow outside we saw it happen, we took down the licsence plate number just in case. The next day we heard people arguing it turns out it was an employee!!!! He never told anyone (or supposedly didn't) and the hotel was denying all accountablity. Then we gave them the info we had. Who knows what would have happened to those poor people. The restraunt food was sub par at best, the server was also one of the managers and he was the only person we ran into we liked. He took care of us so it almost made the meal worth it. so he is the only reason we are even giving service 2 stars!

I came to this hotel for a wedding and endured possibly the worst customer service ever. They told the groom that they gave up his room the night before his wedding because he did not check in by 6pm. When guests asked to speak to the manager regarding this, no one responded. We were told that the manager would come talk to us and never did. In the meantime the bride was called to let her know that her soon to be husband was getting loud with the staff for no reason and they were going to call the cops. I'm pretty sure anyone would be a little upset if they were in that position. Many of the rooms had an awful smell and mine had tiny little fruit flies all over in the room when we checked in. The outdoor pool was closed and all tore up during our stay. We paid way too much money not only for the service but the uncleanliness of the hotel. And the one elevator to our floor had been out of service the day of check out so we had to carry our 2 suitcases and cooler down the stairs and to an elevator on the other end of the hotel. If you can avoid staying here please do so.

Closed outdoor pool for the duration! In the summer, in July and August. Advertised as outdoor pool as well as indoor, not so! And not warned ahead of time when the reservation was made.

We recently stayed here becouse we used our rewards so it was free.The hotel was very quite for a Thur. and Fri. night.We stayed in a smoking room so it was the top floor 5th had a great view overlooking the Niagra river.I would recomend this hotel to anyone,we did not try the food here rather went to a small local bar and grill it was great and met some locals too.
