Motel 6 Carlsbad NM, Carlsbad

called ahead for room had to wait two hours for cleaning. then they decided to steam clean all the down stairs rooms so have to wait for another day to get the room I reserved.the upstairs rooms need to be cleaned a lot better. floors are filthy.

BEWARE of this motel - It's only worth $19.99 a night !!!! I stayed there because of its price, $50 per night for 2 adults. I rented 4 rooms for me and my family. We wanted to visit Carlsbad Caverns and Sitting Bull Falls. To my surprise (I've stayed at other Motel 6) this motel has very small rooms. And if you get the two beds room, forget about walking around the room. The beds, the night stands, the TV, the fridge, and the table are all cramped together. Also, there are no amenities. No shampoo, no hair dryer, no ironing board, no iron, no Kleenex, etc. Also, you only get 2 drying towels instead of 4 you usually get at other hotels/motels. I say this because my wife uses at least 2. One for the hair and one to dry off. So, that means I had to dry myself with my wife wet towel. Another thing, the toilet does not have a cover. I had to leave my cloths on the floor when taking showers. They also advertise they have high speed wireless internet, I never got connected. Even in the lobby the signal is in the "bad" signal reception category. In the rooms I couldn't connect my laptop nor my Blackberry phone. For these options, it sounds as if I stayed at a $19.99 hotel instead of the $49.99 I paid for.

While I don't know what people expect I found it maginally better than most of the other reviews. If you go through Motel 6 direct you should get a pretty good deal. Yes the rooms are small but if you plan on staying in your room why leave home? The motel is as close as you can get to the titular Carlsbad Caverns without staying in White's City, an ubertourist dive, and the pool is cool, the air conditioning is cool and bonus of a mini fridge and microwave. The only real letdown/deception is that in reality they have no non-smoking rooms. The room we stayed in stank all over of smoke and several others we talked to said the same. Near as I can tell the motel must have been all smoking at one time and the just haven't spent the time to really clean them. Good deal, good service. By the way why is TinaR yelling?

Stayed one night. Front desk staff nice. The room… well…Checked in about 3:00pm. The room was about 100 degree or more. The room was filled with flies, it smelled the carpet was dirty, the toilet leaked water all over the floor. Took forever to get hot water in the shower. The towels must have been from the 60’s, rough and stained. The sheets…. They still use flat sheets instead of fitted sheets. One turn in bed and the sheets were off. I stayed at a another Motel 6 a few days earlier and it was 100% better than this. I don’t think I will ever stay a another Motel 6 after this experience.

By looking at the Yahoo web site for hotels in Carlsbad, New Mexico, you would think that the Motel 6 is the best value in town. No so. While the desk staff were friendly enough, the rooms were gross. The first room we checked into had what looked to be 3 hand size blood or motor oil stains as you entered into the room. After asking for another room, we got to enjoy stained pillows, toe nail clippings on the carpet, dries urine on the rim of the toilet, and a very fast bug that looked like a cockroach but wasn't. Next time, we'll stay accross the street at the Super 8.

if arriving late and staying for one night, the price is right. otherwise, bring slippers since the carpet is soiled and hasn't been cleaned, sheets do not fit the bed (but were clean!). towels quite used and gray. new mattresses and a fresh paint job. but painted over smoke detector, so it does not work. bring a fly swatter. arrived at 8pm, killed flies until 1lpm (over 16 the first night). air conditioning was off when arrived, so it took until midnight to get room cooled. outside temperature was over 102. lots of tv channels. new comfort inn on the other side of town, just opened, wish they had been on the internet search

I go to carlsbesd often. i have stayed in many hotel but this was excelant place.people are the best,newly remodlad room,really clean place.real resonable rate.
