We were surprised at the wonderful breakfast, the room was clean and comfortable. For the price it was great. Would recommend it highly

Nastiest place ever
By RandyP, 3/22/07
Stayed on 3/13/07. Stayed in bad hotels before but not bad enough to write about like this hotel. Checked in late with kids and too tired to look around. Lobby was decent and this is the highlight of the hotel. Stairs and halls smelled like mold and urine. Did not allow my kids to shower in tub due to excess mold and mildew. shower curtain missing half of hangin clips. Rooms very out dated and torn carpet and torn wall paper throughout the room. Carpet excessively soiled and would not allow kids to walk around without shoes. Wrote detailed complaint list for the manager and asked for her to call me. Yet to receive a courtesy call for being ripped off by a sanitary hazard. rp from Texas

Priced to Smell
By omizzle, 9/16/06
We stayed at the Teakwood during a football game in Las Cruces, so no one else had any rooms. Also the Teakwood offered it's rooms (2 double beds) for substantially less than it's competitors, again most of whom did not even have any rooms available. The lobby was fairly nice although the motel had pathetic curb appeal. When we walked through the corridors, we found them to be in either a disgraced, unkept state or at least unfinished with exposed wires and unpainted walls ripped open. Upon entry to our ground level room, we noticed that there was a light but awful smell rather like stale human feces lingering in the air. To top it all off, the glass sliding door in back of the room, did not even lock; it's locking mechanism was clearly fouled and the motel would have been responsible if we were broken into and bludgeoned by ruthless bandits come nightfall. Naturally we complained and were given another room which although had locking doors, failed to give up the putrid stench which engulfed the previous room. The beds were mediocre in comfort and the showers were slightly moldy. The staff were friendly and about my age, and the hot breakfast in the morning was not too bad. However, the clientele that I saw in the breakfast area in the morning, were plainly of a lower tax-bracket. I felt sorry for most of them because even they did not look like they wanted to be there. If you want to bask in a latrine-like facility, feel free to stay there. Go to the Ramada down the road for better rooms.

not good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/06
We had stayed in this hotel 3 years ago and found it to be very nice. This trip it was not so nice. Good location, but dirty. Made us feel like we needed a bath, but were afraid to use the shower.

Most horrible stay ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/05
The room was filthy. We found pubic hair in the glasses on the counter. I asked to change rooms only to find the next room exactly the same. The wallpaper was peeling. The hallway carpet and bedroom carpet looked as if they had been thrown up on all over the place. I can't believe hotels that look like this can be in operation. It was the most horrible experience I had ever had. I was afraid to go to sleep. Please do not give them your money.

Be careful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/26/05
Teakwood advertised services (high speed internet) that they didn't have support for. Room was in very poor condition. We left Teakwood and went to the Holdiday Inn after realizing the dollar savings at Teakwood weren't worth staying there any longer.

Good Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/04
We staying here for one night and found the hotel by accident. There was a lot of consturction going on, but our room was relatively clean and the staff was very friendly. We were able to stay with two dogs at no extra charge. I had no complaints, and the discount because of the construction made it a great value.

Not too bad
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/13/04
This is an old hotel. The new management is trying to fix it up so there is some construction in the lobby. Rooms were clean, bed was firm, bathrooms were OK. Tub tile had a little mildew, they need to be redone or cleaned really well. Only noise I heard was the occaisional train. Right next to freeway, so some rooms may have a little traffic noise, I was on the other side of the hotel. I was told it was the quiet side. Pool was alright, some staining on the bottom that could use an acid wash some time.

Horrible
By Jennifer P, 8/17/04
We couldn't take a shower due to black mold everywere. The noise level at 1:30 keep me and my children awake. We left 2 days early due to horrible experience in the hotel. Not worth $10 let alone $55.
