It's Still a Dump!!!
By Emily, 7/18/10
Went last week with the family and feared for our lives. There was a wedding taking place and some sort of convention. The double beds feel more like twin beds, the bathroom had burns all over it. The peep hole is for people 7' and over. There is nothing new or nice in there. The swimming pool is freezing even though it's 100 degrees outside. To much party inside and outside the hotel. Do not recommend especially with your family.

"Stay somewhere else if you can"
By S_Bro, 4/2/08
I can usually make the most out of a bad situation but, not this time. Although I enjoyed my visit to Albuquerque. My stay at this hotel was horrible. #1: Only 1 of the 3 elevators worked. #2: The hotel staff was not very friendly but, quite rude. #3: They advertise that there is a shuttle to a few local attractions. Well, there was only one shuttle working, only one driver and it was too much of a hassle to wait while other guests took priority. Finally we walked across the street the Hilton to rent a van. Which only made things worse when we walked into a brightly colored lobby and were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff...we should have stayed there. #4: The free breakfast was okay but, dinner...bad, bland and not much variety. #5: Interrupted one of the male housekeepers in the hallway while he was looking into the peephole of one of the rooms. #6: The housekeeping staff argued constantly and very loudly in the hallway as they cleaned the rooms. I would recommend looking at other hotels. This hotel may be good for a night. But, we were there for 4 days and it was rough.

Believe the Dump Reviews
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/12/07
Stayed here during the October 2007 Balloon Festival. You can tell this is an old Holiday Inn. It looks as though the new owners have not put a dime into this hotel other than the lobby and the bar. The rooms are dump. Cleaniness is an afterthought. After the latest owners are finished with this run, the place should be demolished. Skip this place all together, plenty of other good places to stay.

What a Dump!
By Claire, 9/21/07
I was at this hotel in August as part of my training for a new job. If I'd have paid for it myself, I'd have wanted my money back in a bad way. The pool and hot tub were both dirty. There was grime in the outlets and on the lightswitches. The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the Regan administration. Unlike a lot of my fellow trainees, my AC worked somewhat. The bath tub drain was so slow, I thought the bathroom was going to flood. Internet connections consisted of an ethernet cable sprouting from some heinous tangle of cords sitting in a pile of dirt and dust behind the night stand. There is NO air conditioning in the halls or elevators. The food was just horrid. The people who worked for food service were in a lot of ways worse than the food itself. The only good things were the desserts and that was because they came prepared and only needed to unthaw before serving. On the last day, we had to check out of our rooms before continuing with the last of our training. We had to check our bags at the front desk and recieved claim tickets. Most hotels, when you go to claim your bag, the staff will take your ticket and go get your bag. After getting a dirty look and a snide remark, I was told to go get my own bag out of the closet they'd piled them in. After struggling to extract my luggage from a dirty closet that also had 100+ other person's bags haphazardly thrown in, I returned to the desk and told them that they were going to do like any good hotel would do and go retrieve my bag. I filled out a comment card right there at the desk (which did not have a 1-star rating on it) which I'm sure got destroyed the moment I left the hotel. You could not pay me to stay at this hotel again. The last time I was in ABQ, I stayed in a cheap place out by the airport that was much better.

This Place is a Dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/07
I suspect these positive reviews were written by employees or owners of this facility. I am here for a work conference for a job I just started. My new supervisors have apologized profusily for this facility. The paint on the outside is peeling. Its dirty, it has not been fully renovated. Only half of the light bulbs in my room were good. I ruined a new pair of pants because the ironing board was filthy. The ice machinces don't work. The vending machines look like someone took a sludge hammer to them. All the floor trim has been torn out, but it doesn't look like anyone plans to replace it anytime soon.. Staff is somewhat friendly, but never seems the slightest surpised by a complaint. I overheard one housekeeper defensively say "Well, I didn't do that room, because you know I do change the sheets." I can say that the common areas are fairly nice though - pool, workout room, bar, etc. I've heard breakfast is good, but the rest of the meals are awful. Free drinks rock.

Well it wasn't all that Elegant
By Sappy1908, 6/11/07
When I thought about the name MCM Elegante I was thinking about how it was going to be very elegant and high class. I should of known better. It was very adequate for what I was there for. They did have free drink passes and free breakfast passes. So I am not going to complain too much.

Stay Away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/06
I am a very frequent business traveler who read the reviews, but stupidly booked anyway. My first room had mold rings in the toilet (as well as urine and toilet tissue), "spotted" seat, ferocious dust bunnies on the bathroom counter (a vent fan that hadn't been cleaned in years), the sliding door didn't have a handle, the "internet" was unplugged, tangled wired behind my NIGHTSTAND! Dust was so thick, walking or touching anything created puffs. Did I mention the construction garbage chute resting on my balcony?? When I explained and requested a room change, not even an apology. My "new" room wasn't much better. Again, the toilet hadn't been cleaned since someone with intestinal difficulties had used it. I killed a very ugly bug living there too, I think maybe he lived on the mildew infested peeling caulk. I found long dark hairs in the bed (and my co-worker found the same all over his room) and a plastic razor cover in the bedsheets? Many hours ago I requested a surge protector so I could actually have LIGHT and use the internet to work. (One outlet for computer, router, light & clock) Needless to say, I am typing in the dark with a VERY low battery. And they have a housekeeping envelope requesting a gratuity?? The hallways are filthy and the elevators are scary & smelly. The management /owners of this hotel should be ashamed. A little bit of work could turn this place around, but I am guessing no one cares anymore.

A GOOD DEAL
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/7/06
WE STAYED HERE THE 1ST WEEK OF AUGUST AND FOUND THE HOTEL TO BE A GOOD VALUE. CONSIDERING THE ALREADY GREAT PRICE, WE ALSO RECEIVED A FULL BREAKFAST BUFFET EACH MORNING AND EACH PERSON RECEIVED TWO FREE DRINKS EACH NIGHT. IT WAS CENTRALLY LOCATED AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO THE INTERSTATES AND LOCAL MALLS. WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.

Great Hotel - I'll be going back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/06
The hotel was wonderful. It was a very nice room and comfortable bed. My husband and I really enjoyed the breakfast. There were a variety of great foods to choose from and the omelette bar was super. In the evening we enjoyed our complimentary drinks and watched the game on the big screen TV in the hotel bar. We had a great time. I also worked out in the fitness room and there were plenty of great machines.
