We'll be back, this year.
By ,
This isa great place to stay at. The loation is fantastick, everything is nearby. When you come to Albuquerque, take the bus system. It's best way to get around the town. And the easiest to get to Old Town, Zoo, Aquarium and to just sight seeing.

Downtown treasure of outstanding value!
By ,
Arriving into Albuquerque and the Civic Center area downtown, Doubletree Hotel ABQ was a relief for tired and sore eyes. Beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday season, simple, yet; "less is more". Checking in seemed flawless and "fun", the manager at the reception desks was quick, well-groomed; GQ model perhaps? best of all he understood questions I asked him with answers so helpful and with a smile not many see these days. His humor eased our stress. Our room was wonderful, clean, and the room-attendent asked if we needed anything extra. The view from our room was beautiful-Sandia Crest Mtn. the sunsets and sunrises which makes New Mexico known for it's painted pallet of beauty. The exercise/health area was better than a massage. We were attending a meeting next door and with the underground walk-way, it eased us calling a cab! After five days, check out went without a hitch. Fast, friendly and with a sincere farewell & invitation back. We will return for their excellence not just for their great value. The choc. chip cookies are forever delicious! yum-yum. Thank you so very much!

You get what you pay for? Not here!
By ,
We had a dreadful experience at the Doubletree Hotel Albuquerque in April 2009. When I reported the problem to Hilton Honors, I was promised a written letter of apology. After a week and a half, I'm still waiting...... I won't hold my breath. As mentioned in previous reviews on other sites, be aware that the place "stiffs" you $10 a night for parking with no warning.... and there are no other choices. Also, they will not let you borrow a rolling cart. You must use (and tip) a bellman "for your own safety" and for "insurance purposes". Perhaps they should check the room for for safety first. We found a blood stain on the duvet. We found a large chip in the kick plate behind the front door to our room. We found a lamp with exposed wiring. We found so much dust in the carpet that we both had to take antihistamines because of our allergies. Granted, we were supposedly refunded the $10 parking fee (we're not sure if they followed through).... and we did get a reduced rate thanks to booking on Priceline, but still.... a customer is a customer... and we won't be customers of this establishment again. It is now two weeks later.... I have not heard from the hotel -- nor have I heard from the "Guest Services Specialist" at Hilton Honors to confirm that a refund was issued. The fact that the franchisee is oblivious to complaints and "instructions from headquarters" underlines the fact that one should think twice before staying at this place. Update - May 3, 2009 Well, it's been about a month.... and still no word from either the Hotel or Hilton Honors..... I have sent a couple of notes to the customer assistance rep at HHonors..... I think they must have "canned names" and all e-mails go in a "virtual garbage can"... I have to see if the promised $10 credit is ever applied to our charge.... but the discourtesy of HHonors and the Doubletree ALBQ make them both dishonorable in my book. As Peter Greenberg says in his book, "Don't Go There!" – and what’s worse, the Doubletree people apparently removed my review from “Yelp!”

Ok if you are here for business.
By ,
Overall this hotel was pretty nice. The room was nice and clean we were on the seventh floor. Bed was very soft, if you like soft pillow top beds, this is the place to sleep. Don't drink the coffee in your room. You will be better off going down stairs and buying a 4 dollar coffee. We had a room by the elevator and we couldn't hear it. We had dinner and drinks at the bar to watch the football game. Food and drinks were pricy but OK. Note*** if you are NOT sitting up at the bar the T.V. quality sucks. Hotel is in a good location, three blocks down there are lots of places to eat and have drinks. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if needed for business.

Very Nice Hotel In A Good Location
By ,
Don't know if there is a better hotel in ABQ -- the people were incredibly nice and helpful (and I mean EVERYBODY)..the room was spotless and the restaurant was fine for something quick. OK Wifi. The location connected to the Convention Center was great and you are three blocks from Central Avenue/Route 66 where there are some fun restaurants and lots of neon. But, this hotel has the worst elevator arrangements I have ever seen. Take my advice, stay on the 1st or 2nd floors and take the stairs.

Uncomfortable!
By ,
The location was good. I had a meeting at the Albuquerque convention center next door so that was good. They greeted me with a warm cookie. That was good! The thing is the bedding was terrible! The pillows were all flat. the bed has a thin, cheap blanket with cigarette burns in it, I could feel the springs in the mattress and the heating was based on a heating/cooling unit in the room. So if you use it, it is extremely noisy and the room becomes very hot and dry, dry , dry! If you don't like the noise and the extreme uncomfortable dryness then you are cold! I did not sleep too well! So I did not like my stay at all! I would not recommend this hotel.
