Nice Place. Take One Night Reservations
By ,
This was the only hotel that we could find in Red River that would take a one night reservation. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the grounds were very well kept. We would stay there again.

Beautiful Sunrise View
By ,
My husband and I had a relaxing visit to the Alpine Lodge. The town was quiet since it was between seasons but that is exactly what we needed this trip. We awoke in the morning to a beautiful sunrise and enjoyed coffee outside on the deck while watching deer graze on the mountain. Besides the outstanding view, the room was comfortable and very clean and included a king bed, the coffee maker, refrigerator, and fireplace (Yes we did use the fireplace in May. The temps dropped into the 30’s.) Several restaurants are located right by the hotel and the office staff gave excellent recommendations for dinner and breakfast. Timbers Restaurant is a steak house just across the street and provided a nice evening meal. In the morning, we went to Shotgun Willie’s for breakfast which was also located at the Alpine Lodge.

Beautiful in the Fall
By ,
This hotel is located along the river and was just beautiful when we were there in October. The aspens, cottonwoods, and willows were at their peak. We rented a room with a king bed and were pleasantly surprised that it also had a wood stove. We really liked watching the deer graze along the river. Red River is REALLy quiet in October so be prepared. If you want to enjoy the mountains it is a great time but if you want action go in September for the festivals. Rates are also lower in October.

Great Stay but Slow Time
By ,
The hotel lived up to expectations but mid April in Red River is very slow. Just not much going on and most everything was closed or had reduced their hours. We did enjoy having the property virtually to ourselves. Our room was nice because it was clean, had a comfortable king bed and a fireplace. We had use of the hot tubs for as long as we wanted. We used them at least twice a day and they were clean and hot. Our room had a great view of the mountains and park - we saw deer each evening and fed some ducks on a couple of occasions. We lit a fire outside a couple of nights and really enjoyed those. The property mentions they offer free Wi-Fi and they do but not all the rooms get the signal very good. I had to go to the lobby to use my computer. Our biggest gripe was just how slow town was. We only had two choices for dinner each night - Capos and Timbers which are both right next door to the Alpine. We wanted to rent a Jeep one day but could not find anyone open and had to drive to the neighboring town to buy a fishing license. Not a big deal and we still had a great time but just be aware that April is offseason in Red River.

Stay Red & Stay Alpine
By ,
What a neat place to go skiing. It was our 1st trip to Northern New Mexico and we were all pleasantly surprised at what we found - it was like Aspen forty years ago. The hotel was charming adn had a distinct 'European' feel to it. It was like stepping back in time and into a totally different place. The snow was absolutely wonderful so the skiing was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, everything was clean, the property was immaculate - we can't just say enough nice things. We look forward to our return!
