Don't Waste Your Money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/09
My wife and I booked a room for three nights. We wanted to see the air show. We checked out after the first night. It took almost one hour to check in. After we arrived in our room we discovered we had only four hangers for two people for three days. The room was not very clean, the mirror frame was broken on the dresser, the one dresser drawer would not open, the lamp and tv were not pluged in, and to top it off when we tried to call the front desk the phone would not work. We went to the Borgata and for just about the same price we had a wonderful stay.

AWFUL...Worst Experience EVER!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/09
From start to finish, BAD BAD BAD!!!!! Waited well over an hour to check in. Employee at counter was RUDE. Room was dirty. Elevators are slooowww...Restaurants are terrible...(ate at 3 of them)...Encountered an employee (a forgeiner himself, as most of them are) who was downright ignorant and disrespectful...I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. They can comp me all the rooms and free breakfast they want, I will never return to this hostile environment of ungrateful workers again. Eww...And please, hire a new maid staff.

I will never go back to Tropicana Resort!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/09
I will start by saying I went on Aug 1st with a bunch of friends. We got to our rooms and they smelt of smoke and we were supposed to be in Non-smoking. We had to wait 30 minutes for an elevator. The a/c in the room did not work and then when they came up to fix it it only made it cooler by about 5 degrees which put it to about 75 degrees, still way to hot for a room. Anytime we went up or down the elevator we had to expect atleast a 30 minute delay and you were crammed in. Then the day we checked out. We waited 45 minutes for bell service and they never showed up we then waited another 45 minutes to get an elevator. When we finally got the elevator we had to go up first in order to go down. Then when we got our car from valet we waited another 45 minutes. So we started departure at about 10 and didnt get out on the road till about 1 pm. Maybe it is there policy to make you wait 45 mins for everything. There were also no bedspreads on the beds. For the amount of money I paid for this room they can afford to get a bedspread for the room. And doon't even think about asking for extra towels cause you wont get any. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I would tell them to stay at a Motel before this resort. Atleast at a motel you know what you are getting..

EWWWWW!!
By charlie baltimore, 06/27/09
We stayed a few weeks back, and I was SO disappointed! It took forever to get to the dark, dismal depressing room. It stunk of cigarettes, we had a view of a wall, I slept on top of the blankets because the linens looked gross needs updating, took forever to check in, yes elevators took FOREVER, and the noise from the drunken neighbors was awefull!! Wouldnt stay again for free

Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/09
What has happened to the Trop? Perhaps, it has succumbed to the status of our economy-lousy. Our room had no blankets, wash cloths, soap, ice bucket, etc. The beds our extremely high, and the bed spreads are white sheets. We were thankful for our health, since we had to walk miles to get to our room in the West tower. Bad experience from start to finish.

Don't Stay at the Trop Without a Hazmat Suit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/09
My wife and I stayed at the Trop on the 23rd of April taking advantage of a "welcome back" promotion. For background info, we used to have a condo between the Trop and Hilton and USED TO enjoy the Trop. However, our room on the 23rd of April was deplorable--so filthy and in such disrepair we kept our shoes on the nightstands to avoid floor contact whenever we had to get up. Understand I'm retired military and am have slept in some fairly less then desirable settings. However, despite our care, my wife contacted SCABIES. Granted we stayed at two other hotels on our trip, but if you cross two pristine streams then walk thru a cesspool, then get infected with a parasite, chances are you got it from the cesspool. We contacted the hotel to inform them of the scabies and were passed around to different offices finally settling on leaving a message with Risk Management to call us back in reference to a public health issue. Our motivation was to let the Trop know 1) my wife had scabies, 2) odds were she contacted at the Trop, 3) they needed to sanitize the specific room we stayed in and 4) the Trop has a very serious sanitation and health issue. We did not get a return call. Subsequently we called Risk Management with my wife speaking to "Mr Kellerher." Upon hearing our complaint, Mr Kellerher flippantly told my wife "lady all your going to get from me is a place in line behind all our other creditors." Additionally he stated if she knew anything about scabies she couldn't have gotten it at the Trop because it takes 2 to 3 weeks to present itself and to contact the CDC for information and "go read it so you know what your talking about." My wife informed him that yes, that is normally true but in fact if one had had previous exposure then future response to exposure was zero to five days, which she had had as a past health care worker. There was ZERO, I REPEAT ZERO concern for us as a customer or for you IF YOU EVER STAY AT THE TROP ROOM 804 NORTH TOWER. Furthermore, after speaking to MR KELLERHER, Trop Risk Manager, I called the Trop back to speak to the hotel manager. I was told he was out of the building and that he would return my call. As of today May 5th, I have yet to receive that return call. Bottom line, customer care, sanitation, or care for your health isn't what used to be. It's one thing to most likely contacted scabies at their facility--it's a real eye opener when you are treated like you're either a complete idiot or if you're trying to shake them down when your really trying to let them know there is a potential and likely public health issue at their hotel.

Had a great time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/08
My husband and I, both in our mid twenties, really enjoyed our last stay at the Trop. We were given a South Tower room which was beautiful, clean, and comfy. We ate dinner at PF Changs (MAKE A RESERVATION) which was good, but not fantastic. Then we went to the Comedy Club. What a great time! Make sure to stop by! Plus, they gave us coupons at the front dest. We played some roulette (lost) and headed up to bed. The bars in the hotel weren't the best, would recommend the Gypsy Bar in the Boragata for good drinks and music. Also, in the summer time, I have been to Trump Marina for a live band on the deck. All in all, our experience at the Trop was good. Will be returning in December.

Worse stay ever
By K, 10/09/08
This hotel was very old. I walked into the room and it literally seemed like a flash back to the 60's-70's. The decor and bedding needs to be updated. The bed matress was hard as a rock. For $109/night i was expecting a much softer matress. I complained and was told that all the beds were hard. This is no hotel for a young couple looking for a fun exciting vacation. The number of elderly retired people were uncountable. I felt like i was staying in a retirement home. i expected to see RV's parked out side. Other hotels in the area seems to support a more younger crowd. Expect to pay about $30 mininmum for a single meal in the hotel. The wireless internet in the rooms cost $10.95 for 24 hours. The gym cost $10/day. With The exception of the very large casino this hotel is lacking in too many ways and is not worth the money. I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.

Definitely going back to the Trop!
By newfie68, 09/01/08
I enjoyed my whole experience, from staying there in a very clean room for 2 nights which cost only $79 a night to the food at Carmines, to the employees who were smiling and very helpful....I didn't win big but enjoyed myself and I am going back again this year and I can't wait!

Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/08
This was our fist visit.. We got a very good rate on the Tropicana Resort. This was one huge resort filled with places to eat and things to do. We watched spider man in the hotel I-MAX Theater and had a blast , The only complaint that I would have is that we had no clue how to get to out hotel room and we was not the only guest lost trying to find the way to the hotel elevators... I would suggest getting directions to finding your room.. Carmines was a great place to eat but only order one Dish.. That one plate of food is enough to feed a whole family and was well worth the price. There are also plenty of shops in this resort as well as a small grocery store and there is plenty of different foods to choose from wither you are in a restaurant , Desert store or the grocery store. The resort is within walking distance to the beach and easy to get to the shops. I can't wait to visit Atlantic City again and plan to stay in the Resort ....
