Bed bugs! :(
By ,
Upon our return home, we found two dead bed bugs in our luggage. I called to inform the manager and she seemed completely disinterested. Not even so much as an, "I'm sorry to hear that." The room was very old, smelled weird, had bleach stains on the carpet, and felt unclean... I am not surprised it had bedbugs, too. Now we have to go through a massive amount of work and expense to make sure we don't get an infestation in our home (if we brought home dead ones, I assume we brought home some live ones, too)... and knowing that management could care less just adds insult to injury.

Would not recommend

Dirty rooms, uncomfortable beds, noisy......and staff that think you are asking too much to have things cleaned or fixed. Only plus is the location, but there are other hotels with good locations.

They don't go out of their way
We've been to the Impala Island Inn a few times now. It has a good location, the rooms are acceptable, and the pool is nice. But this time convinced me to start looking elsewhere. We paid $200/night for a room -- not cheap IMO. On the day we checked out, I asked if we could leave our car in their nearly empty parking lot across the street for a few hours before we left for home. I was flatly told no, that we would have to have our car out of there by the 11am checkout. So we had to feed the meter right outside their lot (which remained empty all day). I could understand it if they were short on parking or if we'd asked to stay in the main lot, which was full. This concession would have cost them nothing and I was really annoyed that they would inconvenience a long-time customer for no good reason. Never again. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

A nice second visit to Impala Island Inn of OC NJ
By ,
I have visited Ocean City countless times and stayed at the Impala twice. Both times we found the motel to be clean, quiet and a friendly staff. The motel is about a block from the boardwalk and nearly connected to the back of Playland's Castaway Cove. If you have kids and they love rides boardwalk and beach, this is the place to stay. The staff also keeps the pool clean and that is not an easy task so close to a sandy beach. The do have wireless internet but it is very slow and went down often. I had to release and renew the connection or restart hoping for a good connection.

Really Clean - great deal for 1 Night
By ,
Weren't sure what to expect when making the reservations but for 1 night with a 7 year old and over $75 savings from other motels/hotels; why not? We arrived & were greated by a friendly staff, a good parking spot, and an extremely clean room with bath & body works toiletries. We stayed in Room 112, it was in a dark hallway, but it was very quiet and comfortable. It was great for us for one night, I wouldn't stay a week here, but definitely good value for 1 - 2 nights tops! Great location to the boardwalk & rides.

Great expierence.
By ,
Great shore place to stay. Very clean, and quiet we didn't near noises from adjacent rooms or the rides. Had a problem with the A/C 7pm on a Saturday night, maintenance switched out the unit by 8pm. What more could you ask? Defenately would stay there again..

Will always love the Impala
By ,
My family have been visiting Ocean City for over 30 years and return to the Impala every year. This is not the newest of inns, but the location is unbeatable. Preps is the best pizza you will find in Ocean City and is only one block away. Don't go to mack'n'manko...THEY SUCK! Impala employees are nice and always willing to help. Parking isn't the greatest but they have an overflow lot that provides more than enough room for everyone. Love it and will never go anywhere else!!!

This Hotel will accuse you of smoking...
By ,
The place was okay they should tell you that you are directly next to a rollercoaster. They also charged me extra 250.00 b/c they said the room smelled of smoke... I am a NON SMOKER! Then I found out a friend of mine stayed at the same hotel last year and they did the same thing to her! Beware they just want your money their was no proof of smoking b/c We Didnt smoke, I also told them I would give a dr note stating that I am a NON SMOKER! I will never go back, and just beware they apparently do this to lots of guests! My credit card company is fighting it but still this is a pain in the rear! I DONT SMOKE!

Definitely will return!!!
By ,
We had a great time at the Impala! We just got back from a 3 night stay. The room was impeccably clean, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located at an ideal part of the boardwalk, close to everything and 1/2 a block from the beach. Parking can be a problem, but once there you really don't need your car! You can walk to several restaurants, like Voltaco's, that have excellent food and are close by. We stayed at the Tiki Inn last year, and it was a dump compared to the Impala. It is close to the amusement pier, so there is some nighttime noise if you stay on the south side, but with the air conditioner running, it really wasn't a problem. We will definitely return next year!!! This is an ideal hotel for families!

Great experience
By ,
I just got back from a weekend at the Impala Island. We had a great time --we booked the "taste of Ocean City" special and got a free Mank and Manco pizza, salt water taffy, sticky buns. ice cream, johnsons popcorn ...it was great !! The location is perfect and the staff kept the place spotless... The rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfortable. I would stay there again. The only pitfall for me was that I needed internet access to print out my boarding passes to fly home early and they didnt offer it but otherwise very good.
