Rundown Property, Rude Desk
We stayed 5 days at this Days Inn, and although it had free internet service and a decent workout room, were VERY disappointed. Its rundown appearance from the outside was confirmed inside. The property was dark with a musty closed-down bar. It was undergoing renovations, and furniture, old mattresses, and so forth were constantly in the hall.
Although the housekeeping staff did their best, the room was run down. Parking near the front of the building was generally full with contractor trucks, and the side entrance door had a crudely lettered sign "Door broken Use front entrance" meaning a long walk with heavy bags or in the rain. The only food service was a mediocre breakfast bar.
The hotel is located on the terribly busy divided Route 22, so it was noisy, but lacked easy access to 22 West even so. You have to head east, exit south, and make a couple of turns to get to a Westbound entrance.
Finally, at checkout, a rude, large man, possibly from India, refused to give a receipt for our stay, saying we had "made the reservation online", so could get a receipt online. I've stayed at a LOT of hotels over the years -- including many Days Inns -- and have NEVER been treated so discourtesly.
