How to make the best of an average place...
The Best Western in Lakewood, New Jersey is your run of the mill average hotel. You pay for what you get pretty much. For the most part, it is worth your money, even though the hotel has some policies that I don't care for. One of them being that you have to pay an additonal 'security' deposit on top of your room fees and any other additonal services that does not come with your room (for example PPV movies BEFORE you pay for it.) Outside of that, the hospitality there is hot and cold; you receive nice or poor treatment depending on the person(s) working there that that day. My girlfriend and I received extra towels, soap, pillows, etc. when we requested them almost instantaneously, but they curtly responded to us that they did not have room service after they we asked them if they had.
Overall, this Best Western was average hotel that is also located in a quiet area away from any nuiances (including the standard continental breakfast that comes w/ it).. it is a definate bargin.. considering it is a few miles from Seaside Heights.. and it is 3 times cheaper than inflated prices that the hotels on the shore has. When in Lakewood, you won't go wrong with the Best Western.
