Very Poor Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/7/10
The place was dirty, there was a spot on the bedspread upon arrival, so we called for it to be replaced. The heating system comes on very loud about every 5 - 10 minutes. Pieces of wood missing from the furniture ( dresser ) that was missing, spots on the bathroom faucets, bathtub had brown spots. Will never go back again. They need to do some serious research into making sure their help is better trained or whatever.

Very very disappointed with the hospitality.
By BCB, 11/6/08
I am very very sorry to have to write this but the truth always sets you free my husbands father who was a pastor would say. My husband who has an advanced degree in computers and my self being a business owner went into the computer room at Fireside Inn and Suites and were rudely reprimanded not to touch any of the computers. Since we where not guests, we where not allowed to do anyrhing with the computers or the internet, but just mentioned the printer had a problem. My husband tested the computers internet speed and printers capabilities and the manager verbally jumped all over him. My huband and I have stayed at the finest Inns and Hotels in the world money can buy and we get treated like this? Just a small problem with the computer and my husband looked at the printer just to see if there was something wrong then immediately get taken back by a man standing in the door way acting like a Sargeant of Arms. The man we think was the manager, acted like God all mighty himself and demanded us not to touch any thing in there and said it was for guests only. We where there on business and where checking out the place and feeling it out to see if the look of the place with its warm feel was true to the heart as was its visual appeal. We planned on having a seminar there with our Global Company, injecting a lot of monies into the area with many interested parties from around the world, but we are almost at a stand still from this event. This man had no wright treating us like we where off vagabonds or street people. We also checked out the place for its ammenites only to feel like we where being bird dogged with survelliance. Of course we have to look around, check out the pool, the excercise rooms and even run the hot tub for 20 seconds. We just don't know as of yet if we will plan our global corporate stay with this Fireside Inn and Suites, maybe a Hilton in the area where we have been always treated like human beings, but certainly not here. When we get some satisfaction from the owner if others have complained about this man and his treatment to all his other guests this way, our minds could be changed. But he might just need some schooling in the art of public relations and friendliness. After all, we the people do talk and good speakers bring large crowds or get them to shy away....

Wouldn't ever stay here, $150 a night, rip off!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/30/08
I found this hotel on line and chose it because it was close to where our daughter is going to college. Booked it a couple months in advance through expedia, so when we arrived it was already paid for. When we checked in, the hostess said we had a "Handicap accesible room", something we did not ask for, and she said there were a couple of grab bars in the bathrooom. Well, that's probably okay, until we got in the room. The handicap bars looked like they may have been installed by a 10 year old, the room was musty smelling, ceiling was moldy, just a mess. We checked out immediately and the hostess just couldn't understand what the problem was. Avoid this place. There are a lot of nice places nearby for less money.

Sleep in your car instead of here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/7/08
We were there with a large group. We essentially had the entire hotel. At first glance the hotel seemed nice with a pretty lobby. That is as good as it got. The staff was unbelievably rude the entire weekend. I was appalled by every conversation I had with them. The rooms were filthy and outdated. One of my friends said she found a hairy piece of soap in her shower. The heat was bizarre, coming on and off every seven seconds literally and then making loud clicking noises in the interim. My children were petrified because they thought there were mice in the room (because of the noises and my next comment) so they slept triple decker on top of me all night. There was a dead mouse behind the coke machine that we alerted the staff to shortly after we arrived and it was still there when we left two days later. I would assume that the dust bunnies gathered around it would indicate it had been there a while already. The pool was purely toxic. My children have red, dry, scaly skin after swimming in it all weekend. The restaurant food was ok until I saw the way they cleaned the tables with a Windex bottle and cloth without moving anything off first. I have no idea what the other choices are in the area but this place shouldn't be one of yours.

Not a Bad place to stay......for one night
By joe, 7/28/07
We had very little to choose from and ended up here. Pleasantly suprised by the entrance, pool, and restuarant area, which is, by far, the star of the hotel. The day shift front desk staff seemed to lack humor and were put out by our being there. The night shift were more positive and the cleaning staff were great. The rooms were ok, clean, newer carpeting throughout. The door key was a constant pain in the ass, due to failure. Location great. We thought it was great for families. Go to the local Chili's and ask for Mel!! Keith will be there too........

awful need i say more
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/6/07
the lobby is amazing however the rooms are dirty. The hallway smells musty and damp. The noise level is hard to ignore if you desire sleep. Too many kids running up and down the hallways, and nothing is done by the hotel staff. There are constantly people hanging around the front enterance of the building smoking, they appear to be employee's. What a greeting, a face full of smoke. The pool is very nice except people are permitted to drink beer by the pool. Not a good atmosphere for young children

not what we expected
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/2/07
The fireplace is very inviting. The staff is friendly, however the rooms are dirty. The hallways smell musty and damp. The building was very noisy. We called to complain, however nothing was done. The noise continued throughout the night. Not what you expect for what you pay.

Horrible Rooms
By Sal, 10/16/06
We chose this hotel because it was the closest to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where one of our family members was having surgery. The rooms were HORRIBLE. There were mosquitoes and insects, mold and mildew stench, mildew stain in the bathrooms, rusted pipes, and a mouse in a trap that was squealing in the middle of the night. The place is in dire need of renovation and repair. We would definitely never stay again.

Not Business Friendly
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/06
If you are a business traveler with more than a few day stay in the Valley, this is not the place to stay. Wakeup calls are hit and miss, if you got a company rate and event comes to town, your reservations are meaningless as you are turned away so they can book rooms out at a higher rate. Hopefully, you won't be surprised as I was, by a phone call telling you to come pack up because your room is not available tonight! To many unattended children running the halls until near 10 pm, essentially an upscale hillbilly dive. Pay the few extra bucks and go up the freeway a couple of exits. If you have an extended stay, it will be worth it.
