Lovely, Clean and Friendly!
By Will, 8/18/10
When we read others reviews, we thought we were in for a dismal stay. However, not only was this hotel spotless and fully stocked, the staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was wondeful. Great rate for a three day stay and close to lots of activities. After our family's amazing stay, we were absolutley appauled by the poor reviews. We will be staying again at this lovely, clean and reasonably priced find!! Thanks Ramada Kittery!

crappy, brutal, nasty place...never stay!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/8/09
Disgusting, awful place, with an even worse general manager. DO NOT STAY HERE - EVER. Take 5 minutes to drive up the road to Holiday Inn – they were great!! In all of my years travelling I have never been treated worse in a hotel. We arrived to this at dump (9pm) 30 minutes after checking by phone that they had rooms. We got there and the GM would not honor the "walk in" rate advertised in room savers booklet - he stated 30 minutes earlier they would take the discount we had. On top of that he was not accommodating for the 2 kids we had and said no rooms are close to each other (we needed separate rooms). I then said OK lets book anyways (I was upset but cordial) and then now tried to use my corporate business rate (CPSA) where Rodeway is clearly listed -- again he denied it saying he does not need to accept it - it’s his choice. I was upset and stated this fact and asked for his boss. He said he was the boss and that he does not have to offer me a room at all and to leave. Can you believe this is a manager?? This put me over the edge and I said that he cannot treat people in this manner and that this issue will not go away - he will hear from me. So my goal is to put up as many bad reviews so he finds himself flipping burgers in some greasy spoon so no one ever has to deal with him again... Don’t stay at Rodeway!!!

Should be called Rodent way Inn
By kingjobo, 7/8/08
I went here on July 5, 2007. We needed to a place to stay. I was with my inlaws, with my wife and child. When we drove up, just by looking at it, I knew it was a dump. Place had a smell, we could not find another place to stay because maine tourist office had closed early and they could not provide good information for lodging. Well we walked in and it smelled like mildew. Got to our rooms and oh golly, they were nasty. I slept in my clothes. My inlaws found two bottles of beer in their refrigerator. Bathrooms were nasty, wall next to toilet was yellow due to the pee stains. Shower did not drain right and the shower when turned on came out like a waterhose. I have stayed in a number of hotels and this is the nastiest I have ever been in. Bugs crawling, it was gross. Thank goodness it was one night. The breakfast was nasty. When we left and on our way up to Portland, Maine. My wife said, oh no, I forgot my earrings. We had only been gone from the hotel for 15 minutes. I advised her to turn around, but my wife called instead and told them. I advised my wife, I would turn around because they will keep the earrings. She stated "Oh no they would not do that!" Well after our whole day in Portland, we had to come back to the rat hole to get the earrings. My wife spoke to the office and the guy had not went down to get her earrings like he said he would. He took her down to the room and the room had been clean and guess what, no earrings. I told her, they would not be there when she came back. They were inexpensive, but I had gotten them for her as a gift. I think nobody should stay here, this place should be closed down by the health department, it had major health violations. Stay way from this one, trust me!

DO NOT STAY HERE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/07
I made my reservation for this hotel on Travelocity and there was NOT an option to select smoking vs non-smoking rooms. When I arrived the clerk told me that I had reserved a smoking room. I didn't have my reservation slip to tell him any different so just asked if there were any non-smoking rooms. He said he could switch me, but that the non-smoking room would cost 10 dollars more. I argued with him for probably 10 minutes about the rate, saying that I just don't understand why the rate is different. He kept reiterating over and over that the rate is different and that things change. THis went ON AND ON in between him serving other customers. Finally I asked to speak to a manager or call the 800 number listed on the front desk, because I thought that he COULD give us the rate we reserved the room for, but that he WOULDN'T and that it is ridiculous to pay more for a non-smoking room. His whole demeanor changed, and he said "oh you want me to give you the lower rate? you never asked" and he was sweet as pie, going over the top to make sure everything was alright in the room. It was horrible and the hotel itself wasn't any better. It is completely run down with filthy carpets, mildew smell throughout, and dingy hallways. Stay in Porstmouth, its only a 5 minute drive from Kittery and a much better selection of hotels. The worst hotel experience I have ever had.

Don't Stay Here!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/26/06
We had requested a NON-Smoking room only to be given a smoking room. This after the rude person at the front desk proceeded to tell me I didn't know how to make a reservation correctly (Whatever happened to the saying "the Paying customer is always right"?) The ceiling in the bathroom was falling down, the room smelled bad and looked dirty. The two men at the front desk were extremely rude and argumentative. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

needs better upkeep
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/04
We have stayed in this hotel several times. Each time the hotel seemed to get worse. The pool was filled with mildew and the carpeting was filthy. It was always a great deal with a nice continental breakfast and close proximity to the outlet malls. We wont stay there again.
