Eagle Mountain House And Golf Club, Jackson

Our stay here was below average and just "okay". The sheets were dirty, there were mouse droppings under the bed, and the room was unbearably hot. This is an average hotel in an amazing town. Stay elsewhere and you will have an awesome time.

This hotel is old (& very outdated), smelly, and besides the gorgeous golf course doesn't have any nice amenities. It is not worth the money...there are plenty of places to stay that are much nicer in Jackson.

This may have one been a great hotel...however now its just run down. Rooms are dirty, staff are unfriendly and poorly trained. NO AC in rooms...rooms are unbearably HOT! Walls and thin and you can hear everything in the next room. Jackson is a great little town and so close to Storyland. We will be coming back but staying elsewhere...thinking of staying at the Whitney Inn or Lodge at Jackson.

I can't recommend a hotel that is not air conditioned when the air temperature is 90 degrees, the room is on the 3rd floor, and the only elevator is so old, most people wouldn't even think to use it. The green carpet in the room was stained with various brown spots. There were a few dead bugs on the window sill and crumbs of something on the floor. Lamps weren't plugged in behind the bed. There were four fans in the windows but .....We ate dinner there and most of the meals were good although a chicken, shrimp and pasta dish was pretty awful. The chicken was so overcooked it, I couldn't cut it with a knife - it just sort of tore apart in stringy pcs. On the first morning, we had to leave a few minutes before the breakfast buffet opened. I asked if I could just grab a bagel for my husband who was running a road race that morning - the bagels that were in a large basket not 10 feet away on a table and was told- no way. wow On a good note - the people who work there are for the most part very nice. The buffet breakfast the next morning was very good.

We (thank god!) did not pay too much money for this place. If we had I would be a lot more upset. In all besides the room being small and cold, the staff being distant, and the food being...well okay we did have a good time in Jackson. Even with little snow in the village there were still some good trails around the base of the mountains and we were able to have some good days skiing. We discovered a great restaurant in Bartlett called "White Mt. CIder Company". It was the best! You have to give it a try. We had such a romantic evening there. I think we are going to stay at the Wentworth when we return in the Fall. We stopped in and they showed us their new suites which looked amazing!

I really don't understand all the good reviews about this place... there is really nothing nice about this hotel (if you can call it a hotel...it is more like a run down motel). The staff are not very friendly, the restaurant's service is slow and the food average and pricey. The rooms were average in amenities. I would compare it to a super 8. You could hear people in the next room....(at one time they were having some very loud sex). The only really nice thing is that it is right on the nordic trails. But, so are many other places. We are going to try someplace else when we come visit again.

The good... The service was pretty good. They do are great job at handling your needs. And, I bet at one time it was a grand hotel. I think they do a good job at working with what they have got. However...now it is just old. The bad... The rooms are just old...the walls are thin....everything is outdated. The food in the restaurant was okay...just not special and not worth the money. In all....not a very special place. We will stay elsewhere next time.

Our family (including 8 year old and 4 year old) visited President's Day weekend, and the lodge was full - couples, families, a huge group of teenagers - and full of life and surprisingly plenty of space for everyone. The Nordic skiing is right at the front door, with downhill, ice-skating, and tubing nearby. Friendly staff and visitors. Unpretentious (not catering to spa seekers) clean, and cozy. A lovely place.

the people that work there are very friendly. offers a gift shop and tavern. there is a porch the encircles the hotel where people can smoke/drink. beautiful view; very peaceful. anyone that can get a chance of going there really should.

Everything about this place is great!!! I loved the old elevator and the creaky floors! The front desk people were great, as was everyone from the waiters to the cooks(good food),the cleaning staff were very good!The price was right and I will go back again!!!!! Oh,the veranda with the rocking chairs were so great, it reminded me of my grandparents, How we used to sit out on the porch at their house years ago. If your looking for a relaxing time and a taste of years gone by this is the place! Plus it has everything the kids will need: an outdoor heated pool, a tennis court, a driving range and a golf course for dad, a workout room for mom and a game room for everybody to enjoy!!! The only thing someone might not like is no A.C., but you dont need it they have window fans and it really pulls in the nice mountain air! I say this place is a keeper!!!!!
