Winnemucca Inn, Winnemucca

The room was quite comfortable until when we arose at 6 AM to shower and continue our trip home. At that point we arose to a smell from the bathroom and found the tub had about an inch or 2 of vomit/sewage sitting in tub. The stench was horrible . When we called desk to report it we were told sorry we have noone on duty right now. We left and took our showers at home 10 hours later. To make matters worse i left my phone and name on managers voice mail and never recieved a return call either.

We would recommend this Inn for older couples, it has everything you need. The rooms are spacious and clean. The Casino is small but fun and the resturant is fine if you like basic comfort food, it has a great salad bar. It was worth the money, in fact we stayed an extra day just because of the room. It's was a little confusing, because the name of this INN use to be the Red Lion Inn.

Could not get wifi to work in my room on first day. After multiple visits from maintenance man to try to fix it, reset the server somewhere in hotel, it was finally working. Second evening, wifi works until 7 PM and then goes away.no signal. Maint. guy can;t get it working, eventually i ask for another room, manager tells me there are no other rooms available. 5 minutes later I call the reservation number, get the SAME manager and ask if they have any rooms available - he says yes, they have both Queens and double queens available. I walk to front desk and ask the manager why he lied to me. He got testy and mean and said he did not lie, but he would not move me to another room because that would be a room that he could not sell then. I said I wanted my money back - he said that he could not do that, either. In a huff, after i asked for his name and the names of the general managers, he said he would let me bring my computer to an unused room but he would bet that I would not be able to connect. After making the wrong key the first time, he finally let me into a room at the other end of the building and sure enough, I got a STRONG wifi signal. He let me move rooms. Tomorrow I ask for a reduction in my bill, too.

We stayed over one night traveling from San Jose to SLC and were very pleased with the overall atmosphere, room, and service. I submitted our reservation via the internet while we were driving and about 2 hours from Winnemucca. I specified a ground floor room so that we could keep an eye on our truck which was loaded with personal items and hauling our car. Within 5 minutes a reservationist called me to say that she wasn't sure they could accommodate our request but she would try. That was a first for us! When we arrived, we had a first floor room that overlooked an area of the parking lot where we could pull the truck and trailer within sight. The hotel has rooms in the main building where the casino is but they also have separate buildings with rooms just across the parking lot. Very quiet...very clean...very spacious. Outside entrance, two queen beds plus table and chairs, and a sliding door/small patio. I read one review about smoke but I didn't notice this at all. I'm not a smoker and did not smell stale smoke in the room nor did I notice it much in the casino. The restaurant is very casual with a friendly staff. I had the soup/salad bar which had lots of choices while my husband had the clams which were excellent! We spent an hour in the lounge/sports bar after dinner and back to our room for a great nights sleep. We travel a lot and I highly recommend this hotel. Nothing fancy but clean, courteous, quiet. We will stay again!

Always feel safe and very comfortable. The people are very freindly, and treat us very well. Food is very good, we have never had to wait long for food service. Clean and neat. Normally, in small towns, it is always hard to find a really nice place that you can be comfortable in.. Red Lion, is the place we always stay at Bob and Dolly

I was in Winnemucca on business for a week and stayed at the Red Lion. I had a very large room that was clean, comfortable, and quiet! The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Whatever I needed was no problem for them to provide (if they could). The housekeeping staff were thorough and polite, some days not accepting the tip I left them each day. The restaurant food was fresh and delicious, even at 3:00 a.m.! The only negative is that the casino is small. The machines paid off well, but there are only a couple of tables. In defense of the hotel, they're working well with what space they have. If you're looking for comfort and quiet during your stay, then I highly recommend the Red Lion!
