Ruined Anniversary..
By gypsydevil7271, 01/11/10
--Will give away your room in a heart beat. --Do not care about average customers. These guys are terrible. I was not surprised to read the reviews below this where people had the EXACT same problem. If you want to come to Reno and sleep on the side of the road, make a reservation at Peppermill. If you want to have a great time and be treated like a human being try Atlantis or Silver Legacy. Almost ruined our anniversary!! My wife and I were planning a relaxing anniversary after having our first baby 5 months ago. We made the reservations for a romantic spa suite, got a baby sitter for our boy, let work know not to disturb us, got a nice bottle of wine, made reservations at a great steak house, etc. Get there at 3:30 PM, tried their check-in kiosks, they erred out, then spent 45 min in line to get to a front desk agent just so they could tell me they gave away our spa suite, but we could spend our special anniversary night in a normal hotel room, then they proceeded to tell me that reserving a room on does not reserve the room you want, it just reserves a room of some kind. Way to make us feel like we do not matter. They did not even seem to care. Went down the road to Atlantis, got a luxury suite, had a great time gambling and eating. Saved our Anniversary. Anyway, after they treated us like garbage, they will not be getting any more of our(friends) business. Peppermill --Reservations do not mean anything --Cannot plan any events/vacations --Do not seem to care about average patrons --Smokey, poorly lit --Slots floor seems old, and seems more like a warehouse.

The Winner is Peppermill
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/09
We went to Reno Octtober 2-4,2009 and couldn't decide which hotel property to stay at. We decided to stay one night at the Grand Sierra (Friday) and one night at Peppermill (Saturday). We had never been to either one of these properties. Our stay at the Peppermill was absolutely amazing. Our family has agreed that Peppermill is by far the best property in Reno and will be our #1 choice when we visit the Reno area. We had dinner at Oceana and the food/service was amazing. The hotel service was great. Can't wait to go back.

Loved it
By John y, 08/04/09
For the price its one of the best hotels. I have stayed at every major one in Reno and hands down Peppermill wins. Real easy to check in, easy to get to your room, just down the road from the others, Food wasn't bad mostly did the buffet. They treat you like your a player they just flew in. I am booking a 4 night stay in there Imperial Suite right now :) I can't wait!

BED BUGS, ROOM THEFT, MOLDY FOOD
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/30/09
One hour after leaving to breakfast we returned back to our room. I was really surprised to see that our room had already been cleaned by he maid service. I started getting all of our luggage ready for the bellmen so that he could help us move to our new room. It was at this time that I noticed that my camera bag was gone. I started crying and immediately called the hotel security. Security arrived to our room several minutes later to take my report. I let them know that I left my room for one hour and upon arriving back an hour later our room had been cleaned and my camera had been stolen. The security officer let me know that they would interview the maid, go over the key card records and review the video surveillance. He also told me not to contact them for 4 business days that they were really busy dealing with other things such as slips and falls. To me this was unacceptable! They had that prime hour to investigate and telling me to contact them in 4 days seems like they just wanted me to go away! I did no take no for an answer I wanted this matter resolved before I left the hotel. Finally The head of security (Dean) told me that "We talked to the maid and she said that your door was left ajar however our video surveillance shows that she is they only one entering your room at that time" He further told me that since the video did not show her visibly taking the camera out of our room there was nothing that they could do since she denied taking it. Since the hotel was allowing their employee to steal from me I contacted the Reno police department and made a report. They were extremely helpful and I am still waiting to see what comes of it. In the midst of all this going on we found a bed bug on my 4 year old daughter's head and it was drawing blood from her scalp in several places. I removed the bug from her head and put it in a glass. I looked it up on the internet, it did look just like a bed bug so we took it down to the front desk and gave it to the manager. My daughter also developed a rash all over one of her legs that we believe was from bed bugs. The next morning I took my girls to do a little shopping in the morning and told them that we would go back to the hotel and swim and their dad had promised to do some night swimming with them when he returned from work. Upon arriving back to the hotel we discovered that the hotel had closed all of the hotels to a private party. My poor little girls were in tears to find out that all of the pools were closed for the rest of the day! To top that off they had set up a hug buffet for 500 guests right smack in front of our patio. The only way for privacy was to close our curtains as we had a mass buffet set up right in front of our patio with people starring into our room. Not only did we not have any privacy but we could not use our patio. We were paying for use of the pool and they had no right to close all of he pools. They state on their website that the pool is open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. I was so upset that I called he hotel manager Michael Ford. We spoke for about 30 mins and he seemed to understand all of my issues that we had had with the hotel and upon conclusion of the conversation he offered to buy my daughters ice cream, YES, Ice Cream!! I think that after what we had been through that to offer ice cream was offensive! OTHER ISSUES...... -The shower was terrible -The claim to have a hertz rental car on site but they actually have to drive you to the company to get he car so plan for lots of extra time! -I ordered a fruit cup for my daughters from the hotel and as my daughter was eating iy] she spit her food out and said it tasted bad. I look at he fruit and saw that it was MOLDY, I have photos of the moldy fruit. *Upon checking out our bill showed they had credited us a whopping $50 per night for our upgraded room. What a joke!

Good place to stay in Reno
By Jay, 02/18/09
The rooms were very nice and the staff very curteous. I generally stay in the upgraded tower rooms. I recommend this over the Tuscany rooms which are a bit of a walk. The rooms are very nice and close to the casino action. The food is very good but a bit expensive for the Reno. Check out their value meal in the coffee shop on weekdays. The comps seem generous by Reno standards but they seem to be cutting back a bit lately. Get a comp card it is worth the trouble. I stay there 4-5 times a year and haven't really had a bad experience yet.

Peppermill Casino Sports Book and Tuscany Tower
By Rick, 02/07/09
We showed up in Reno for a two day stay. We checked into the Mill and got a suite up in the Tuscany Tower. Nice room with mirrors and even a nice HDTV in the bathroom. Nothing better than sitting in the whirlpool tub and watching our game come in. We spent most of our time in the sports book. The sports book is amazing. Computer access and big screen televisions. We can't remember the names of all the employees there, but there were all very nice and kind to us. We do remember the sports book writer Tony who was very knowledgable about the California tracks. Javier, the porter, kept the place spotless. And the Sports Deli there was a killer, my god, Chef Pete there made us a killer toasted tuna sandwich. Sweet. And our cocktail waitress, Elvira, what a beauty and a nice person. We did spend some big bucks up at Biminis, their steak house. We were kinda surprised it was crowded up there. I guess there is not a Depression in Reno. We remember waiting briefly and meeting an Art with security. Art was very nice and had a minute to talk to us. We remember the wine guy up there too, John - he recommended a killer merlot. Steaks taste better with good wine! We had a hassle at checkout because one of our friends opened up a jar of orange slices they had up at the room. Put a net over the refer and those nuts and stuff, way to expensive. We have to deduct half a star for the nut bar operation. But after finding a baggie of good smoking material over the mirror in the bathroom (it was a smoking room) we have to add back half a star to give the experience a five star rating. It was a magical trip, how often do we go 4 out of 5 on our sports picks!

Peppemill Security Policy
By Mickey, 02/06/09
Recently, a woman was robbed on the casino floor. She had several thousand dollars in chips in her purse and a thief wrestled the purse away from her. She received a fractured wrist in the altercation. The thief took off running with the purse and was tackled and held by a good samaritan until Peppermill Security arrived. The robber was charged and a jailed. Then Peppermill Security 86'd the good samaritan for "putting his hands on another person in their casino" This is a horrible and unforgiveable policy. The Peppermill will never ever get my business again.

Always a great experience
By Cerra, 02/02/09
I adore the Peppermill and have visited about every 3 months for the past 4 years. Every time I go there it is better that the last time because of all the renovations and add-ons. No other hotel/casino offers as good of comps as the Peppermill. So I strongly recommend signing up for their passport card. They constantly send you free play offers in the mail along with free rooms. That is the reason that I am able to go there so often is that I do not have to pay for rooms during the week since I am a Gold member. And it doesn't take very long at all to reach that level. Even my best friend who gambles maybe a total of $50 while she is there still receives offers for rooms at only $20 to $30. And once you arrive, just walk up to the Passport desk and they will give you a book of coupons that are good for discounts on meals, free table game play, and other amazing offers. And these coupons are for everyone no matter what card level you are at. ALSO, you can swipe your card every day at their kiosk and receive other great offers like 2 for 1 drinks or a free room! They also have amazing restaurants, or if you don't want to spend too much money, they have a great place called the Coffee Shop that has everyday specials on food for around $6 and is open 24 hours. I have brought all of my friends up with me and had them sign up for the Passport card. They have all been pleasantly surprised at the free offers and discounts they have received from the Peppermill. Also, the waitresses are very attentive around the slot machines (those are my favorite). The only thing I could complain about is the amount of time it takes to check in. Wow, sometimes there really is a big line. But once you have gotten checked in everything is roses from then on. I have reservations for Mid February and I CAN'T WAIT!!!! Yeah!

Charges to my Credit Card after checkout!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/08
Peppermill charged me for in-room vending machine items that I didn't use after I checked out! It took a week, two calls to their accounting department, promises of corrections, AND a complaint to the Reno Better Business Bureau before they made restitution. I'm not sure it's done yet since new charges have now shown up on my credit card! BEWARE!

I GOT BED BUGS TOO
By Heather Lynn, 11/23/08
Arrived on a Saturday evening with two other people. We all requested non smoking low priced rooms, but they didn't have any of our rooms ready, two of us got smoking rooms, and one of us is allergic to smoke. I noticed blood stains on the sheets about halfway through my stay, and two days after I got back my upper body was covered in itchy bites. Bed bugs. And I may have carried them back with me to my home. Called the hotel and they said they will do an "investigation" but who knows how big the infestation is? The stay was like that the whole time, my friend got a posh room since they didn't have the reserved room for her, but she was slammed with overdraft charges on her card because they "held" $80 a day deposit, but failed to tell her that. They charge for everything but don't make it clear to you so that you get an unpleasant surprise when you check out. My encounters with the staff were frustrating, many were rude, unhelpful, seemed angry that we didn't know how things worked, but how could you if it is your first time visiting? They even made my friend with the over draft charges cry, telling her it was not their problem that they overcharged her card and didn't tell her. Would not stay here ever again!! I'm just glad I was there for a conference and didn't pay for it, you couldn't pay me to stay there again!
