Never Again For the Flamingo
By shrek, 5/2/12
Let me give you a blow by blow description of my experience. Friday Upon arrival at the Flamingo on Friday around 2:30 pm (you would think this is the beginning of their highest check-in volume of the week, late Friday aft into Friday eve.) and they only had ½ of their check-in stations manned leading to a 45 minute wait. After walking to room (long way in Vegas hotels), room key doesn’t work, go back to desk and am told (in a snotty “it’s your fault” manner) that they printed the key cards “backward” and you have to put in the end into the door that is NOT the arrows pointing! They could have told me this when I checked in, no apology, just attitude. And why didn’t they have a sign taped (or something) at each check-in station about this? Wrote it down as one of those things and got revved up for Friday eve. in Vegas! Saturday After taking wife shopping to outlet malls and major dept stores (carrying LOTS of packages), upon arrival back a Flamingo they have parking structure (we drove to Vegas) closed because it is full! This is a common occurrence for the Flamingo, but in past they have arrangements with the O’sheas casino on the other side of Flamingo complex for guests to use their garage. No big deal, really no additional inconvenience, as it is about the same distance from rooms, you just enter Flamingo from other side. BUT WAIT!!! This garage is being demolished and is closed so NOW you have to go down to the Imperial Palace / Harrah’s garage! End up having to walk through the Imperial Palace casino, out onto the strip, down the strip to the Flamingo the through the Flamingo casino to get to rooms!! All carrying shopping packages from day’s trip! This is terrible and they have no mention of it (they KNOW they don’t have enough parking in the one garage). Also NO attempt to ensure only guests park in garage etc. Additionally they have taken a chunk of spaces OUT of availability to assign to their FHGV reserved spaces. Sunday (Final Straw) We had planned to say in Vegas through Sunday and leave Monday. This was due to after a long night on the town Saturday evening we wanted to stay Sunday and lounge around the pool (usually clears out sometime Sunday afternoon as people go back to Southern California after weekend). Went down to pool only to find that the Flamingo has turned their main pool into a “party pool” (DJ, loud hip-hop music etc.). I can live with this, not my ideal pool day but not a big deal. However we find out that they are now selling entrance to non-guests, and in addition they have removed a large number of their lounge chairs to put in those big cushioned “day beds” on pool edge and numerous additional cabanas, along with some “rental pool side lounge chairs” thus REMOVING a large percentage of the normal lounge chairs. I figured several hundred chairs less (my guess). Now there are so few chairs that there is NOWHERE to relax or even sit! Even the very little “open” space on edge of pool (sitting on edge with feet in water) was taken, and it was only 11:30 AM! Bottom Line!!! I would recommend you DON”T stay at the Flamingo, and I will NEVER visit a Harrah’s property again (and I go to Vegas at least 4-5 times a year).

Worst Hotel In Vagas
By Carmine Melchionna, 3/15/12
Would have rather been camping. We were supposed to be in a block, in newly remodeled rooms. Spread out all over the hotel in old rooms. My daughter was on the 14th floor with all the construction. We walked down the hall and I had a headache for the rest of the trip. We were on the 4th floor and not happy about the surroundings. We will never recommend or stay at the Flamingo. We could have been at the Belagio for the same price!! Just wanted to be part of the wedding party so we cancelled our reservation. Could have met up with the rest of the wedding party in the same amount of time if we stayed there. Building was full of smoke, dirty hallways, never stay there again.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/11
We come to Vegas every year but I will never stay at the Flamingo again!!!!! Not only is the cleaning staff horrible but they were remodeling the rooms above us at 6:30 every morning by scraping the floors!!!! I can understand the need for remodeling but this is Vegas hotel. They have to know that their customers are out enjoying the Vegas nightlife until the wee hours of the morning and would like to sleep in the next day but they have these guys scheduled to scrape the floors of the rooms above patrons. There is no reason for this. They could have easily had the remodeling start at 11:00 when most people are up or checking out. The front desk said that there was nothing they could do so I went up and and exploded on the crew foreman. This halted the scraping for about an hour but then they were right back at it. Besides this very rude and uncalled for annoyance the cleanliness of this place is a joke. They had DIRTY glasses in the room. I don't just mean a couple of water spots, it looked like the glasses had been used by the previous guests for rinsing after brushing. The sheets were nasty with holes in them and mold everywhere. I will never stay here again and will make sure that no one I talk to ever will.

Flamingo is Las Vegas Best!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/11
This is the sixth straight year that we have stayed at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. We are extremely satisfied with all aspects of the hotel. We always have a nice, clean & quiet room. The location of the Flamingo is perfect- right on the center strip, with all of the other major hotel/casinos in walking distance. The pool area is very nice, but can be crowded, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. The hotel staff is friendly & helpful. The Flamingo’s buffet is outstanding, whether you have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The buffet is reasonably priced and there is a great variety of food. Plus the view at the buffet is very scenic. The flamingo garden is beautiful and tranquil to walk through during the night or evening. The Flamingo has a beautiful vintage ambiance to it that you just don’t find in many of the newer, bigger casinos. We always look forward to our annual trip to Las Vegas and will be planning to stay at the Flamingo in future visits.

CAN'T GET ANY WORSE!
By Mike, 10/18/11
I could make this review go on for 500+ words, all would be negative, but I will just say that after 30+ years of being a loyal Flamingo guest and Rewards member, this was my last stay. I stayed from Oct.4-12. The best thing was the Go room upgrade for nothing. After that, this was the worst! Customer service could care less. Management is just as bad. Employees all agreed with me and told me stories of how bad this place has gotten. My advise is stay anywhere else but here.

We will stay at The Flamingo again!
By glenn, 9/1/11
Our room was very nice...great view of Vegas(26th floor!)...clean as a pin...easy to reach...comfortable bed...luxurious bath...total package! Have zero complaints...only a warm feeling about our stay. It was not our first trip to Vegas and we came with friends (two other couples) who were familiar with The Flamingo and we all stayed there...another group of friends were at the hotel the same week so it was extra special. We stayed at a different hotel/casino on our first trip to Vegas not long ago and it was not as nice as The Flamingo...the room was almost generic Motel 6...and this was a big hotel/casino. (Stratosphere) Our stay at The Flamingo was great! Would loved to have won some money, but hey...no trip is perfect. We will try again next time because we WILL be back to Vegas AND The Flamingo. A special thanks to Mike Sheridan (hope I have his name correct) for his attention to the needs of our group. Your personal attention is very much appreciated. We cannot wait to visit The Flamingo again! We will be back!

Stay Away!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/11
Children are no longer allowed to go into the large pool and the security at the pool act like guards in a concentration camp. We have been annual visitors for 10 years, but will not return!

$35 a night room is pretty gross
By Michael, 6/11/11
Recently my Girlfriend and I booked a room at the Flamino. The price was good when we got to check in the employee asked if we would like to upgrade to a remodeled room. Thinking that the room we already booked would be ok and not wanting to spend the extra $30.00 a night we said we did not want to upgrade. OMG the room we got put into was nasty to put it nicely. There were stains on the carpet, it smelled, the bathroom was dirty. We immediatly walked out went down stairs and upgraded to the remodeled room. The remodeled room was nice we did not have any complaints about it. I just wanted to let people know that the advertised rates online are for the old rooms which are not fit to stay in.
