Home away from home
By Missy P, 06/13/09
We stayed for 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!Love the rooms the staff was like family to us. I am a travel nurse and the facility I was working at did not supply private housing, I found the Raine through Yahoo travel and they could accomodate my request for 13 weeks. We got there and it was like coming home!! They have good food in the resturant/lounge. Breakfast supplied daily, which was great and the coffee is fresh ground columbian....to die for. Thanks Howard we loved staying with you! We will be back with the grandbabies next year for vacation!!!!!! You have been warned LOL Tim and Missy

"Our favorite place just got better - much better"
By masontx, 03/26/09
We have stayed here for many years and it has always been one of our favorite places. New owners have remodeled the motel but more than that they now have a small lounge and restaurant on premise. The food is excellent and they serve until 10:45PM which is a real advantage to a traveler who is a late arrival. Mason Meyer - Bandera, Texas

I slept in the Raine
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/09
The Raine Motel had everything I look for in a motel. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. The bed was comfortable. It was 14 degrees below zero outside and the room stayed toasty. The free wireless Internet access was fast with 100% signal strength. The room includes a work table with outlets and lighting, HD Cable TV, a refrigerator, microwave, and cup-at-a-time coffee maker. The bathroom is big enough to be a second bedroom (well, almost). I will stay there again. All this for about $45 a night. Amazing!

Why stay anywhere else?!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/24/08
While working in Valentine, NE I stayed at the Motel Raine for two weeks. Howard, the owner, was one of the kindest, most hospitable people I have ever met. The staff was very helpful and did a fantastic job of presenting a very clean, comfortable motel. Breakfast was provided each morning, and it was both filling and tasty. If you are traveling for business or vacation, this is THE place to stay in Valentine!

This is THE motel in valentine.
By kenneth, 08/14/08
I found this motel on yahoo, the reviews looked good, I called and talked to Dusty, an owner, He explained they are re-modeling the rooms one at a time and they are turning out well. So, I booked 4 rooms in May for August. ( Going to Sturgis) I am very glad this was the last of 3 motels we stayed in, If we would have stayed here first, I would have gotten beat up over the other motels!! The rooms far surpassed the other motels, the place was clean the people were wonderful. We stayed 1 night, and I could go on. The owners believe in customer service. Great place!

May 2008
By eleanor, 05/29/08
I recently stayed at the Raine Motel and found my room to be clean, comfortable, and having all the amenities I like while doing solo traveling. But the best part of my stay was the friendliness and enthusiasm of the motel staff and the owner particularly. He had excellent suggestions on what to see in the area, where to dine, and how to get the most out of my visit to the Valentine area. Everyone of his suggestions that I followed proved how well he knows the area - and his clients! It was a wonderful visit, one of the highlights of my trip. Should I get back to Valentine, I wouldn't hesitate a moment to rebook this wonderful place and revisit its terrific people. E. Santic

Best motel in town!!
By CatherineL, 04/14/08
Recently, a research project on Sand Hills mice brought two graduate students and me to Valentine, Nebraska, where we had the pleasure of staying in the Motel Raine for two weeks. I cannot say enough positive things about this place and its wonderful staff. The room we stayed in (the triple) was large and very clean and came with everything we wanted and needed: a coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, tv, and wireless internet access. The motel location was great and the price was the best in town. The breakfast was good (especially the coffee, which was ground fresh daily) and the breakfast room was very nice (many tables and a large HD TV). As other reviewers have commented, though, the best part about Motel Raine is the amazing customer service. The staff and owner of the motel were all incredibly friendly and went out of their way to accommodate any and every need. For example, we needed space to process samples/collect data out of the cold and wind and they set us up with a table in the ice room. They also provided us with a space heater and a room to store our equipment—all at no additional charge. When we mentioned that we were looking for locations to trap mice that were deep within the Sand Hills, Howard (the owner) allowed us to use his property south of town. And just when we thought that they couldn’t possibly do anything to make our stay better than it already was, Keith (assistant manager) surprised us with lunch on our last day to help get us through a long day of work and to thank us for staying at the motel! In short, everyone at Motel Raine went well beyond the extra mile to make our stay pleasant and productive. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!!

Charming with beautiful people
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/25/07
This place is quite charming but most of all very clean. Young family owned. Manager "Dusty" very accomidating and cordial. I and my traveling companions rented three rooms all were immacatly clean, large and comfortable. Early morning breakfast was excellent. When we told "Dusty" we were going to the Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore he ask if we had reservations and said to us you will need them since this is "Bike Week" there. He then made eleven telephone calls at his expense (did not charge us) and found us a fabulous room at the "Old Log Cabin Motel" in Hot Springs, South Dakota. This reminded us of our country. I can never say enough good comments about this Motel Raine, Dusty or any of the other people there - they go beyond excellence. If this is not perfict English please make an excuse for me as I am from Innsbruk Austria and German is my main language of speaking. ---
