amazing
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/6/11
Let me start out by saying it was very clear from the second I walked in that this hotel spared no expense. From the friendly staff to the decor of the rooms this place was nice. The tile work in the bathrooms and the furniture in the rooms made me feel like I was in a luxury manhattan hotel. very beautiful addition to downtown omaha

the good and bad about deco
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/30/11
We planned a trip to Omaha using expedia and the original hotel we went to said they were sold out and didn't have our room. After calling expedia they were able to upgrade us to Hotel Deco. The hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel offers complimentary valet parking + use of a driver/mercedes. The decoration (mostly black and silver) is very modern and the rooms have beautiful windows with great views. The room is good size and it is a good location especially if you are going to the Orpheum Theatre which is right across the street. However, it is a VERY noisy hotel! We could hear people in the halls taking, a party down the hall even though they had their door shut, doors slamming, etc. It wasn't just the noise in the hotel that was bad but you could clearly hear cars, car horns, alarms, 3 or 4 trains went by, 2-3 sirens from ambulance or fire trucks. We were on one of the top floors of the hotel but you could still hear people talking (not yelling but loudly TALKING) on the street and even horses from carriage rides! The furniture is ok- may have bought from IKEA-Not the highest quality for a high end hotel. The shower had multiple spray nozzles which I thought was great until I realized the shower door must not have a great seal and the drain wasn't working so there was water all over the bathroom and into the entry of the room! Overall it was a good hotel but I would have been upset if I paid the original price for the room.

Best in town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/19/11
I don't think that the prior reviews are relevant as they seem to be about an older hotel that no longer exists, I was recently doing a site visit representing the complete restoration of the hotel, and I have NEVER seen anything like this before. It is amazing, and welcomed to the City of Omaha

This place is a dump
By Tripp, 6/30/08
This place has foam pillows, old beds that are as comfortable as plywood and rooms that allow in a tremendous amount of street noise (so much I found myself wishing I could be back in my quiet NY apartment.) I don't recommend it.

Rude, not professional
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/07
Lets start with one positive. Rates are the lowest in Downtown Omaha. Now, here come the negatives. I came into town during some Gallup conference and all other hotels were filled. I came across this place and decided to see what the rates were. I was greeted by the night auditor, who kept looking me up and down. He kept asking me the same questions, over and over. What I was in town for, what kind of room I wanted, etc. It was like he was flirting with me. By the way, I am a married man, and had my wedding ring on at the time. I got my room, it was outdated, dirty, and smelt weird. I checked out in the AM to find another hotel. The 'office manager' apologized for the auditors rude behavior, and referred me to Magnolia hotel-SO MUCH NICER!

The place was great
By Nichegnome, 5/5/07
After reading the reviews prior to my stay, I was a little worried. I checked in and was pleasantly surprised. Yes the hotel is old but they have done a good job of keeping it up. We stayed in a suite and the room was so big I felt like I was in an apartment. No noise, no bugs, none of what the others described in their reviews. I liked the Reddick and would go there again. The only complaint I had (if you could call it that) was the bathtub/shower doubled as a whirlpool. The bottom of the tub really could have used something to prevent slips when showering. Otherwise, no complaints. Nice and close to the Old Market too! Thanks for a great stay!

beautiful.
I stayed at the Redick with a large group of students while on a service project tour. There were four girls in my room, and we stayed in a suite on the eleventh floor. I've never seen such a nice hotel suite, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. Yes, the decor was outdated, but it was beautiful none the less. Our room had a king size bedroom, separate from the spacious living area which included a [comfortable] pull out couch, a desk, a cabinet&television, 2 plush chairs around a table, a counter space with a large mirror, small sink, refridgerator, and coffee maker. Not to mention the view of the city. The bathroom had a double sink and a whirlpool tub. A coat closet was in the entryway to the suite. The staff accomodated our large group very well, letting us use their basement for our 'partay' and also for our own continental breakfast. The breakfast wasn't so great, but it sufficed. I loved the city of Omaha, I will definately go back and when I do I'm staying at the Redick again!

Oops.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/11/07
That was the genreal tone of my stay in the Redick. For the location, you can't beat it when you are in town to see a show at the Orpheum. The rooms were clean, but old and dated. Because of the date of the furnature, it makes the room appear dirty. The staff on the most part is ok. There are a couple of clerks are amazing and really know the customer service industry. And on the other hand there are clerks that obiviously have no idea on how to fix problem, especially ones that they cause themselves. You have to be careful, there is a manager whom will talk your head off if you let her. The breaksfast was ok. Good for a contential, but the attendant was not helpful. Anything short of a direct question was ignored. Overall, not worth rate that was paid. You can do better by staying outside of Downtown and driving the 10 minutes.

Be warned!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/18/06
We came to check into the hotel, and were greeted well by the staff who answered all of our questions about local events and attractions quickly and effectively. We got to our room-1 king bed-and were in total shock. The wallpaper was peeling, the bathroom despite looking clean, smelt like sewage. The floors in the lobby area look like they have not ever been cleaned and same with the hallways. The sheets were stained in the room. We moved to another room without any change in the outdated feel. Hey, at least the staff was polite.
