Very Unhappy
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/11
We had a online special deal thru Deal Garden. Cost for 2 night stay was $188 you also got $30 arcade card and $60 in food credit. I had 2 of these coupons and used them consecutivly. When we checked in I told the receptionist 3 different times I had the special deal and that it was already paid for. So she asks for my card to process the $20 incidental fee but processes $297 for a stay at motel. She realizes her error and said she fixed it and that I wouldn't have any problem using my card. So the next day we go to the zoo. I try to use my card and find out it was declined. So I have to find another way to pay our way into the zoo. The whole time at the zoo I am worried about my card. We get back to motel and I call my card company and find out what was wrong. They had charged my card. So I think I have it all fixed but NOPE. They hadn't given us the 2nd $30 arcade card only 1. So I had to go get another one. When we checked in she had told me that we would have to go back down and get new armbands for the water park after 2 days because they change every 2 days. She didn't tell me I would need to get NEW room keys after 2 days also. Found that out when we returned from THE FUNPLEX dripping wet and can't get into our room. The second day of stay our toilet overflowed and got everything wet. We were scared to flush it for fear it would do it again. The floor by the air/heater was sopping wet from running the air. The wall behind the headboard was wet and had water dripping it. My daughter who is 12 and her friend didn't really enjoy the waterpark Coco Key. They thought the big slides were ok but the rest was geared towards younger kids..I will be filling a complaint about charging my card as well as everything else. I wouldn't recomend staying at this motel to anyone..Even with the special deal I was VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I had told several of the employees how bad it was and NOBODY offered any help or any kind of a refund for the things that happened to us.. Charging my card again was extremely stressful. I was worried the entire time at the zoo..

Go for water park only - hotel somewhere else
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/27/11
Water park is fine but do not stay at the hotel. Rooms were dingy, musty, humid (it was 70 degrees avg outside at the time of our stay/not humid outside) and just did not feel clean to any of us. We had to call the morning of our stay to make sure we had a roll away bed for our 2 year old daughter to sleep on. We did get the roll away however it had a plastic covering over the mattress so ultimately I ended up having to sleep on it since any move she made woke everyone up. I had to lie perfectly still all night. comfy huh? Also, it had a fitted sheet and a light blanket. I requested another blanket from the front desk at 8:45pm. 9:15 no blanket. I called down and they did not remember my request. I asked if I could come to the front to get it. They told me they did not have blankets at the front desk and they would call housekeeping again. I told them if they could inform housekeeping not to yell or knock loudly as my daughter was going to sleep that would be helpful. 9:45 a loud banging and "housekeeping" woke all of us up...but we had another blanket to keep what ended up being ME warm on the roll away bed. We all slept horribly. They sent me a survey where I let them know about all of this a week ago...I have heard nothing not surprisingly. Definitely take the kids to the water park but stay somewhere else that is clean and has a good sense of what customer service truly is so you can all rest and enjoy your vacation. I was willing to go down to the front desk to get a blanket and they would not even accomodate this for me as a paying customer. Absolutely amazing.

Not Great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/8/10
The room was very clean. However, the only hot tub is in the water park area which is only open till 9:00, 8:00 on monday nights and you have to pay an extra $25 to use the water park. The hotel pool which is free to guests has no hot tub. We ordered room service online from their website. The next morning it never showed up so I call the room service and they informed me the online ordering doesn't work, even though it is on the website. The food is pretty good and I like the bar atmosphere but because of the the problems, I don't think we would stay here again.

I will never stay at this hotel again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/09
Believe the reviews you read about this hotel. We figured that it could not be as bad as people were saying. We were wrong. I travel with work and stay in hotels over 100 nights per year and this hotel is hands down the worst I have ever experienced. Our first room had an outlet hanging out of the wall with exposed wires and the room was covered with stains on the carpeting and furniture. We were moved to a poolside room that was just downright gross. Broken lights. Missing hardware and filthy. The half used shampoo and conditioner bottles were a little unsettling. Every time I went to the front desk there was another group of people who were dissatisfied with their accommodations. The only reason we did not leave is that we had promised our two young children that we were staying at a hotel with a water park. Holiday Inn should be ashamed of their affiliation with this hotel. I have not stayed in a Holiday Inn property since and do not intend to ever again due to this experience.

Clueless staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/22/09
The hotel staff seemed to not have a clue as to what was going on with our reservations. We had to wait until after 5:30 to get into our room as it had not been cleaned yet. To top it all off, we were charged an additional $393 on our credit card because they accidentally put my sister's room on my bill also. I just received my credit card statement today and realized this. I would not recommend this hotel.

GREAT STAY!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/7/09
The staff was very friendly and courteous. The water park was a lot of fun and the food in the restaurant was great. I was a little nervous about the water park because I have a two year old and was afraid she would not be able to use anything there. Turns out there is a zero depth entry pool with spouts and she loved it. Will return again!

Great service
By kaso, 5/26/09
Our last trip to Holiday Inn before this one was like most reviews listed; not a very good one. We did not receive what we were told we would (Adjoining rooms for my daughter's party). As some of the reviews pointed out the customer service staff did not care about our situation at all. I called the manager and he said he'd call me back that night but never did. After we checked out of the hotel I called and talked with a manager named Andy. Andy was very apologetic about the lack of service we received and offered us a complimentary stay. We accepted and recently stayed at the hotel. Our check in went very smoothly and Greg (the rep who checked us in was extremely courteous). Everything went well and we had no complaints. Hand written letters from Andy were in each room (they were adjoined :-)). We will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn again. The service in a short period of time has gone from a one star to a four star. We appreciated the staff and the time they took to make sure all was satisfactory. If you've had a bad experience give them one more try. I think you'll be pleased.

Traumatic experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/24/08
Yes, the room was comfortable and clean, but how can that substitute what happened to me? I left two diamond rings at the bathroom counter and they disappeared. Right after I left the hotel I realized I had forgotten them, called the hotel, the housekeeping manager and NOBODY cared. They just told me to come back on Monday because they were too busy that weekend and took absolutely no responsibility for it. I decided to file a complaint with the manager and they passed the case on to a private investigation. Up to now, exactly a month after the situation I have not heard a single word from the hotel. No complimentary stays, no regrets, no apologies, nothing official. Holiday Inn, never again!!!!

Buyer Beware
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/17/07
My wife and I chose this hotel because of the water park for our son and his friend. We asked for a pool side suite expecting to be located near the water park. Instead our $189 room sat next to the regular pool behing the pump room. Needless to say we were mislead on that. When we arrived the pool side door lock didn't work correctly. We ended up entering from the hall entry door. About an hour and a half after telling the front desk a person came to check it. While waiting for him we noticed the notification card of who was the attendant for our room had scribling on it from kids that had been in the room before us. (I hope they used clean sheets rather than using the old ones). One staff member finally looked at the door and told us he would put a new striker plate on it. While he was there I asked where the water park was and if that was included with the room price. He said no, but we got the discount price of $15 or $20 to get in. Needless to say since there were 4 of us, we were not about to spend another $60 to get in after paying $189 for the room. When we were sitting by the regular pool we noticed people moving tables around, but once they were done there were food crums left all over them. No one ever did come to clean them in the 5 hours we sat and visited with our friends. While reserving the room we were told about the continental breakfast, but that morning we were told they didn't server continental breakfasts, but adults could eat for $9 each and the kids were free. I have stayed in $189 suites and this isn't one!!

Ok - not the best or worst
By mommame, 6/12/07
We were happy enough with the hotel. The kids loved the pool. The tv worked well and the room was clean. The bathroom could have been cleaner. We did have to walk all the way across the hotel to get to the pool. It would be better if it was in the middle. We got an online deal otherwise the hotel would have been overpriced. The restaurant was overpriced even with the kids eat free.
