5 reviews for Swiftcurrent Motor Inn, East Glacier Park
FAir Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/08
As someone how has spent many nights in the Many Glacier Valley, this hotel far surpasses Many Glacier hotel in quiet and ease. It lacks the breathtaking view Many provides, as it is nestled in trees; however, the food prepared at this kitchen is far more eater friendly.

very enjoyable!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/06
We visited in July 2006. We had wanted to stay at the Many Glacier Lodge and were excited when we were able to transfer our first night. As it turns out, we enjoyed the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn even more. It's old and small but nestled under the pines with the window open we found it quite cozy! We enjoyed our meal at the restaurant very much and went back in the morning for breakfast. We would definitely visit again!

Good location, but that's it.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/06
Great location as it is next to trailheads, but old, outdated, dingy, worn (I would hesitate to even call it "rustic"). Restaurant was fair and had to twist arms to get service--waiter seemed to be bored and difficult to rouse while heavy metal at full blast was eminating from the kitchen...I was wondering where the manager was.

Loved it there
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/06
We visited in 1985 so it may have changed, but the place was good for what it was. An affordable place to stay inside the park. Every night in the parking lot rangers would set up viewing scopes and grizzleys were almost always seen. The restaurant was good and the location near Swiftcurrent lake was good. There are canoe rentals on the lake and a riding stable nearby ( at least there were then) Many hiking trails start nearby. We would return anytime. I can't get the service and cleanliness buttons to work but both were good.

Very Modest but Location Makes it a Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/17/05
We spent a night here in August, 2004, and enjoyed it very much. It is very modest, but its location is so wonderful that we considered it to be an excellent value compared to other Glacier Park Lodging. After the Village Inn at Apgar, it was our favorite among the several places we stayed in or near the Park. Swiftcurrent Lake is very near, and we enjoyed a delightful hike around the lake along an easy path, surrounded by spectacular scenery, stopping at the much fancier lodge on the lake for a drink and snacks in late afternoon. The highlight was, as we returned, joining a number of others in watching (through binoculars) a large golden-backed black bear (that we mistook at first for a grizzly) dine on huckleberries in a drainage a couple of hundred yards above the road. The cafe in the tourist center nearby provided a very solid breakfast. We will definitely return here as often as possible.
