Not Montana's Finest Hotel!
Went on family vacation & paid top $$ for the best room with/loft- what a joke, zero value for the money. Rooms were dated and old. TVs very old school cable comes right off connectors- no LCDs. bathrooms outdated hot water only Luke warm. Web site looks much better- but in reality it does not match. Rooms poorly cleaned, no attention to detail, red "blood colored" stains on carpets, wood blinds, crumbs in couch cushions, bathrooms floors room floors not swept daily, bathroom sundries never replenished! Complain and nothing happens. Try to check out early and get fined a $30 administration fee- Really give me a break! New owners, no one has authority to do anything! Web site falsely advertises services that do not exist like babysitting services. When asked about them, desk clerks state lodge is under new ownership and these things are no longer offered. Avoid the Grouse Mountain Lodge, only about 10 cars in the parking lot, and dozens of rooms available no surprise here. Obviously others have figured this out already, locals will tell you, once a great place- but no more! I came over 3500 miles to this lodge based on the web listing and I am very disappointed - about the only decent thing was the restaurant. I travel worldwide as part of my job and have spent 100’s of days in hotels worldwide and my Suck-o-meter pegged on this one. I recommend other hotels like the Kandahar Lodge (at the ski resort), and the Lodge at Whitefish Lake (nice large place by the lake).
