Going back in time

It is fun to stay right in an old mining town. The Fairweather is decorated in a simple, old-fashioned way -- genteel, but a bit faded. My single room had one springy bed and a sink -- with the bathroom down the hall. It looked rather charming in the daytime, but after taking the "ghost tour" that evening and hearing that the room next to mine was "very haunted", it looked less welcoming that night. I slept with the light on!! -- as though a ghost would care :-) -- for comfort and heard and felt nothing unusual.
Nice upstairs porch to watch the main street traffic go by. Drive up to boot hill on your way out of town. More restaurants in Virginia City than nearby Nevada City so I was overall happy with my choice. A unique experience.
