The Historic Northern is a step back in time. The service is wonderful and hooray for the Golden Belle reopening!! Would say come see for yourself.

What a mistake
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/06/06
We should have been suspicious when there was one clerk at registration and no visible guests. Our rooms (two) were hot, and one room did not have light bulbs in the lights. When we checked out the morning of 6-24-06, the morning clerk said air-conditioning was about 50-50. There was air blowing but hot, and windows could not be raised. The lobby is nice, but that is all that can be said. We saw no lounge or restaurant. Were sent across street to a nice place to eat.

No TV reception, banquet food was the worst I have ever had. Poor service. Heater in room did not work properly. Train ran by all night. Save your self some hastle, don't stay at his hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/07/05
To start the stay off the hotels shuttle service made us wait at the airport (about 10 min away) for over 45min. We checked into our room that had not been cleaned yet, so they moved us to another room. After in that room for an hour the light in the bathroom went out. I called the front desk and no answer so I had to go down and ask for a lightbulb. They didn't have one so for the rest of the stay we had to use a lamp in our bathroom. And to top off the stay, an angry worker came in to pick up her pay check and screamed and yelled at the workers using words no one should have to hear. I wouldn't be paid to stay there again. Needs an update and new management.

great employees!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/05
We stayed at the motel for 1 night on our way west. Every employee we encountered were both courteous and helpful! Will go stay again when in the area!

Larry's review
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/05
My wife and I I tried to stay in this hotel. The rooms are small. The air conditioner did not work and the TV had just a few channels. We had to leave because the condition of the hotel was so bad.

I loved the view from my top floor room! The room was small but adequate and the hotel has great historical ambience.

Accessible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/05
This place does have a good handicap accessible room with a wide enough bathroom--but the bath is a bathtub, so you have to be able to climb into it. Service was excellent, and info on local events very good.

BEYOND ALL!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/26/05
Being from San Francisco I'm accustom to upscale hotels/inns & never did I think that in a place like Montana would I find something even close aside from the Sheraton of course. The service was beyond all expetations, excellent! The rooms beautifully decorated, the location was perfect. Very Romantic! Can't wait to visit again!
