The Historic Northern Hotel, Billings

We should have been suspicious when there was one clerk at registration and no visible guests. Our rooms (two) were hot, and one room did not have light bulbs in the lights. When we checked out the morning of 6-24-06, the morning clerk said air-conditioning was about 50-50. There was air blowing but hot, and windows could not be raised. The lobby is nice, but that is all that can be said. We saw no lounge or restaurant. Were sent across street to a nice place to eat.

We stayed at the motel for 1 night on our way west. Every employee we encountered were both courteous and helpful! Will go stay again when in the area!

My wife and I I tried to stay in this hotel. The rooms are small. The air conditioner did not work and the TV had just a few channels. We had to leave because the condition of the hotel was so bad.

I loved the view from my top floor room! The room was small but adequate and the hotel has great historical ambience.

This place does have a good handicap accessible room with a wide enough bathroom--but the bath is a bathtub, so you have to be able to climb into it. Service was excellent,and info on local events very good.

Being from San Francisco I'm accustom to upscale hotels/inns & never did I think that in a place like Montana would I find something even close aside from the Sheraton of course. The service was beyond all expetations, excellent!The rooms beautifully decorated, the location was perfect. Very Romantic! Can't wait to visit again!

When my wifes boss booked a celbration meal there on the 29 th of November the food service was unorganized, cold foods and the wrong foods served over a very prolonged time. For instance the salads took at least thirty five minutes to be served to us and some were getting their main course before the others recieved their salads. The Prime rib was not prepared correctly it was grilled with no seasonings and mine was cold from troulbles in the kitchen that evening. A very poorly orchestrated meal, and service also. Then when I excused myself to go to the restroom and couple that was obviously intoxicated followed me into the bathroom a minute behind me and the Woman came in and stood next to me at the urinal argueing with her "Man" about some personal matter. When I told the Woman to leave as this was not appropriate the man got angry with me and threatened me at the urinal. I told two young men at the front desk that their was trouble in the restroon and what had happened and their reply was that the trouble makers were soon to be leaving. I did not feel very good about the service, the ill prepared food and my experience there at all. It nearly ended in big troulbe for me in the restroom with that man his girl friend and me. Why are women going into the mens resrooms drunk and causing problems for your customers?

A beautiful stay at a friendly well developed hotel. Cant say enough good things about this hotel without sounding like a rambling child. Kudos to them.
