77 reviews for Saint Louis Union Station Marriott, St. Louis
A Terrific Hotel
By Woody, 10/20/09
We came to St.Louis for the 50th anniversary reunion of my high school class. Used Priceline.com to bid on a "4 or 5 star hotel in downtown," and wound up with the Marriott Union Station Hotel. Checking on past customers' reviews, I got a mixed picture, and I really wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be a very pleasant experience. Like every Marriott I have ever stayed at it is well run. Service staff were extremely friendly and outgoing. The place was clean. The downtown location is fairly convenient to the touristy side of St.Louis (Busch stadium, etc.), and the ambience is unique. Built into the old Union Station, which stopped handling trains about 30 years ago, the hotel is part of a complex that includes a large shopping arcade that used to be the central concourse for train travelers. (See my comment below) The hotel actually starts on the third floor of the edifice. The reception lobby area was the original one for Union station. Lots of marble, stained glass, heavy carved furniture, ornate cornices, etc. Beautiful. Excellent staff, and a superb breakfast buffet that my wife and I enjoyed greatly. Our room was nicely appointed and very clean. Sad side: most of the shops in the attached mall (the old railroad passenger concourse) had closed, and one could see the impact of the recession clearly. A number of touristy shops and food places remain open. To be sure, parking is pricey. We paid $20 per day for valet parking. We would happily stay there again. I suspect some of the negative comments I saw were from the period before Marriott took over.

Nice place
By Paul and Belinda, 05/26/09
I booked this hotel through Hotwire..thank you for them...We ended up paying a very nice price for a 3 night stay for this hotel. The hotels lobby was up some stairs and we were greeted very quickly. Checked in with no problems. Parking in the parking lot said 16.00 after 24 hrs and the hotel gives you a pass and you pay 14.00 dollars a day for parking which is in a secure lot, they had parking patrol out there at night. After we got to our room which was down a lot of hallways we finally got to our room which was very beautiful, our window faced the court yard area which had trees and flowers and was very nice to have the curtians open to look at. They had a flat screen tv, plenty of pillows, bath and body works shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They cleaned our room after the first night but didnt the next night, which we didnt have any clean towels on our last morning which was kind of a bummer. Our check out was very easy to do...and oh yeah watch the last elevator on the right, the doors will close on you when you are trying to enter the elevator, my husband had to come back and get me after the doors closed and the elevator went to the next floor....The only bad thing about the hotel is it isnt close to a lot of the attractions we walked all the way to the arch on Saturday which was nice but it was hot and we found the metro and let me tell you that was our transportation for the rest of our stay..

best hotel stay EVER
By s1LeNt0212, 04/14/09
The staff was amazing from the minute we arrived ...All staff bent over backwards for us .....we stayed there 2 nights and ended up having a ill child stuck in our room 1 whole day and everyone was fantastic.....i have never visited a hotel where every single employee had a smile . The rooms very clean and the bed was the most comfortable every slept on in a hotel. Having the convience of the mall was another plus......you will not go wrong staying here.....we cannot say enough about it......

ENGAGEMENT PARTY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/08
We went to St Louis ( unknown to my girlfriend ) so that I could propose to her at the top of the ARCH. Afterwards staying at this wonderful Hotel and dining in their fine restaurant surely made us both feel VERY special. We were treated like Royalty. The Host at the front desk sent us up COMPLIMENTARY wine, cheese and crackers to help us celebrate our ENGAGEMENT. Such thoughtfulness and kindness. We also ate our special dinner in their fine restaurant. A bit pricey but the food was fabulous indeed. Our waiter gave us a complimentary dessert tray to help us celebrate our special occasion. YES, our trip to St Louis was a memorable one in a fantastic way on ALL accounts !!! Thanks Hyatt Regency St Louis for your great stay.

It was alright
By bubbalusa, 07/30/08
It was nice to have the mall connected. It was nice conference rooms were all together. I was disappointed that there was no refrigerator, and that internet and breakfest were not included. It seems like everything extra was more money. Also alot of walking. Otherwise staff was very helpful and friendly

Yuck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/07
The Hyatt Regency is not at all what I expected. Its supposed to be a 4 star hotel. It has 4 star prices but when we were there in the hallways sat dirty room service dishes for 24 hours at one room in a main hallway. The wait to check in was 20 minutes. Once I got up to my spot they informed me the room wasnt ready even though they told us to be there at that time. The rooms were ugly and very old looking. Then to top it off - after I received my bill 2 weeks later they overcharged me by $185.00. To sum this up - I will not stay there again, I will go to another hotel in the area instead for sure!! Hated it!

A reason to go to St. Louis.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/05/07
The service was excellent. The architecture of the hotel was well worth the trip. The cost of the room was reasonable considering the convenience of shopping and restaurants nearby. It was a very convient location. It's location is close to the major tourist spots... the arch, the zoo, and Grant's Farm. Will definately go back again.

Awesome
By A Yahoo! User, 06/06/07
We loved it. We have a seven year old and a two year old, and it was incredible for all of us. The beds are so comfortable you just fall asleep before you even realize your head is on the pillow!! My family had a great time! We walked the mall, ate at The Hard Rock, fed fish and turles, it was a relaxing fun time! We WILL be back!!
