WOULD RECOMMEND BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
we stayed at the union station marriott from sept 3 to sept 6, 2011. union station, in which the hotel is located, is a huge beautiful building which is by the way designated as a historic national landmark. on the plus side is the beauty of the station itself and the marriott. our room was clean, spacious and very quiet. the staff was very courteous and helpful. the location, right in the heart of st louis, is excellent. you are only a mile of so away from the arch, jefferson expansion memorial, lumiere gambling casino, miss. river and paddleboat rides.
on the negative side, you must walk quite a distance from your fourteen dollar a day parking area to your room thru a mall. the mall is full of junk shops and t shirt shops and you will not find much of value shopping there. also we did not think much of the food court and the restaurants (houlihans, landrys and hard rock cafe) located in or near the mall.
also they charge around twelve dollars a day for the internet service, which i thought should have been free. they have a beautiful restaurant on the property but it is also rather pricey. also like other reviewers said, the outdoor pool is rather small and unheated.
aside from those few negatives, i would still recommend the hotel, especially if you only plan on staying a few days.
