Comfort Inn Hyde Park, Kansas City

This place rates with 1 of the worst hotels I have ever been in. The outside temp was 102, the inside temp was probably 112. None of the AC room units work properly, even the lobby is a furnace. This is a shocker considering its a Holiday Inn in close prox. to the K.C. sports stadiums. The place seems to have not been updated since it was built 30 years ago.The owners must treat it as a cash cow, take the money out and never put something in. The sheets had blood on them, the showers create lakes on the floor, and the tub fills before the water drains out,all rooms are hot, it goes on and on.Can somebody in K.C. please help this place.

The hotel is in a great location. Checking into the hotel was quick and easy, staff was very pleasant. The bar and grill had some great tasty food. The carpet in the room needed to be cleaned. It would have be nice to have a clock radio in the room.

My husband and I were attending a Royals game and wanted to stay near the stadium. We are from Kansas City and I feel this hotel gives Kansas City a bad name because it sucks so bad. Anyone from out of town should stay at the Clarion one block away, you will have a much better time and get a better outlook on our city. I want to apologize to anyone from out of town for any bad experience they had in Kansas city because of this crappy hotel. Let me start by telling you our story. Upon checkin we had to wait in a line over an hour in hot lobby, and the so called sports bar was not even open to pass the time. Then our a/c was broke and we had to switch rooms. Then since we had wasted so much time at checkin we did not have time to swim before the game. They do not even have a shuttle to take you to the game. After the game the so called sports bar was not even serving food and we had to go to Denny's up the street. Then in the morning they could not find the key to open the pool and we waited over half and hour for that. Then we went up to the room to shower and to our dismay the shower was dirty with used soap and shampoo from the people before! This is when we went to check out and got our money back! Then we had to go home to shower and spend our money else where. If you have stayed here it gives K.C. a bad name and I am sorry once again, that is not what the whole city is like. Again, spend a little extra money and go to the Clarion up the street, for better service, restaurant, shuttle service, everything! Holiday Inn Sports Complex is horrible, Oh and it was not just us unhappy, everyone had the same or worse time than us and we were telling everyone we could to go get their money back!

We had a very clean King Bed room that was very roomy. we paid $54.95/night and this hotel could compete against the ones that go for $100/night. It is a GREAT VALUE! Easy to find and very convenient if you are going to a Royals or Chiefs game. The restaurant downstairs serves a fairly decent breakfast buffet, and the indoor pool is nice.

All of the windows on all balconies were extremely dirty and very noticeable when pulling into the parking lot and even more so once inside our rooms.The rooms were in need of refurbishing. Drapes old and dirty looking, furniture quite marred, etc. We entered the restraurant the next morning when they opened and the food for the breakfast buffet we found to be even less than room temperature. The eggs and meats were cool and the potato's in the center were refrigerator cold. We did request a refund for two of the meals that were not edible and we given that refund however the wait staff was rude in talking loudly away from us like we couldn't hear. The bar was just OK but nothing like a sports bar should be that is especially across the street from two major sports complex. Would only stay there again if nothing else was available. But certainly would not eat there ever again.
