Hotel NIGHTMARE! STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE PLEASE!!!
By Karmal, 5/25/11
First of all, you will go in CIRCLES trying to get to this place off of the expressway (i-70) because even though it says it's on Lindbergh, it really ISN'T. It only FACES Lindbergh but it's on "Hi Collector Dr" instead. Secondly, our experience was a complete disaster... After checking in, on the way to the elevator, I find out that this place was hit by the tornado a few weeks ago and it really did some damage so the elevator closest to the entrance was out of service. We had to walk over to the other end of the building to get the other elevator to go up to our room. Upon entering, the room looked fairly decent until going into the bathroom. The bathtub was PEELING with some paint they had used to re-touch the tub (which looked horrible!) so I was not comfortable taking a shower. Went to turn on the TV and there was NO CABLE. Front desk said the cable was being worked on and would be up and running the next morning but NEVER came back on my entire stay (and i was there for 3 nites). Someone pulled the fire alarm and as I was trying to call the front desk to get info about what was going on, I GOT NO DIAL TONE so I checked to see if the phone was plugged in and it wasn't. So I tried plugging it in and the wire WOULD NOT FIT IN THE JACK IN THE WALL SO WE HAD NO PHONE IN OUR ROOM. I ended up having to use my CELL to call the front desk to get information on what was going on. Of course, there is no manager on duty so I had to wait until Monday morning to speak with him. We even had guests (family members) stop by to see us at the hotel but they ended up having to leave without seeing us because the front desk was calling our room but couldn't get thru because our phone wasn't working... I'm currently waiting for a FULL REFUND. IT IS BEING PROCESSED NOW!

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
By JH, 7/31/05
This is the WORST place I have ever seen and experienced!! There was no air in the lobby area and on the day we checked in it was 100 degrees. It took almost an hour to check in (with no air in the lobby and several people trying to check in). Check in time is suppose to be at 3:00, our room was not ready until 8:30. The pool and jacuzzi looked like a mixture of water and urine. When we finally got in our room, the air conditioning was not working properly, it was a miserable nights sleep. The bathroom was NASTY, hair and trash was on the floor. There was something squashed on the bedroom wall, we are still not sure if it was a bug or a booger(I know that sounds gross, but that is what it looked like)and there were stains on the comforters. I did report this to the manager on duty and NOTHING was done about it or even offered to be done. The managers were very rude and not helpful!! They have a sign in the bathroom guaranteeing that if you are not satisfied with any part of your stay and they can't make it right, that you do not have to pay for that part of your stay.....WRONG....The manager on duty the next day told us that that did not apply to us because we were there with a group. We were there for a baseball tournament, last I heard, there were 4 baseball teams that checked out due to the conditions and service of this hotel. Video and pictures of the hotel were taken for proof. We have contacted the corporate office, so hopefully something will be done about this.

Abandoned
By Bill, 7/23/05
I booked a hotel room through the ParkSleepFly company and I need to inform you about what happened. It took us almost a half hour to find your hotel. We saw it from Lindberg but couldn't find a road that led to your lobby. Just on a hunch we took a road that was marked "No Outlet" and it took us to the hotel. My wife, daughter, and I checked in on July 13th. We were put into a room that had interior access and a sliding exterior door; the exterior door was unlocked. The hallway smelled like raw sewage. When the smell got too strong in the room I went to the front desk and requested a different room because of the smell coming from the hallway. The receptionist acted completely surprised and took our statement that there was a smell like that. While talking to other people that night we found out that they knew of the smell but they kept placing people in this area, hoping they would not complain; we were however given another room. This room had a plumbing problem with the sink (the stopper was down and wouldn't open). The toilet (the reservoir refill mechognism was punctured and it took 45 minutes to refill the tank with enough water to perform a flush, and when it was refilling, it sprayed the tank cover with water leaked all over the floor). The bathtub's drain was open but the pooled water drained very slowly. The next morning we got up to catch the 5:00 AM van to the airport. We made it on the van but there were two other passengers that couldn't fit into the van; they were going to have to take a cab to get to their flight on time. We returned to St. Louis at 11:20 PM on July 18th. I went to the red courtesy telephone and dialed "5 0". The receptionist answered and I told her that we needed a ride back to the hotel. She said that she was sorry but all their vans were down. She took my name and said that she would call a cab and for us to go to the point where the shuttle would normally pick us up and a cab would be there. We waited for about a half hour; no cabs even drove by. A driver of a shuttle from another Holiday Inn was was standing near us and waiting for a flight crew; it is 11:45 PM now. We told him our story and he made arrangemnets to have another shuttle from his Holiday Inn to get us to the hotel and to our car. When we arrived at the Holiday Inn and loaded up the car, I went into the lobby talk to the manager. He was busy so I talked to the receptionist. She remembered my name and asked if the ride was okay. I told her that we had to get a ride from another hotel and that the cab didn't show up. Some time during the evening I found out that this Holiday Inn's shuttles were refused access to the airport; I don't know why. We got home over an hour later than usual. Cleanliness: the corridor carpet reminded me of my son's dorm. It was stained from spilled liquids and had crushed food in the corners. The resturant wasn't bad but the slight chlorine smell coming from the holidome wasn't a plus. The gift shop was clean and was supplied well. Since this is rated second in Bridgeton, I'd hate to see the third or fourth. Maybe there are only two hotels.

Overall, my stay was a good experience!
By Tiffany, 7/14/05
The hotel was clean and the staff was courteous. My daughter and I enjoyed the holidome with the indoor pool and the arcade area. For an 8 year old it was a fun hotel to hang out in. Unfortunately, I did not like the fact that there was not a microwave or refrigerator in the rooms. I have stayed in lower value hotels which have these amenities. The hotel restaurant also allowed the children to eat free with a paying adult this was a plus. Overall, My stay was a good experience. I would recommend this hotel for people who have children. It might not be such a great idea for single people unless they request a room that is not near the holidome.

THEY LOVE TO SEE US SMILE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/05
I liked the fact that the rooms were nicely cleaned and I dislike that the pool couldn't stay open late at night for the teenager and adults but other then that well done. Tianna Thomas FROM: HAZELWOOD

Not for single adults or business travelers
By Lindsy L, 5/11/05
Let me start off by saying that I am not normally picky with hotels at all. I'm usually fine with Holiday Inns, Motel 8, youth hostels, whatever.... 1st warning- many of the rooms open up via sliding door to the Holidome, which is a pool and playground. This may be convenient for those with young kids, but it causes humidity and noise issues. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the Holidome, including people just walking through to get to their room in the middle of the night. This is especially bad if you need to sleep past the time the pool opens (8:30AM) and kids are out there screaming. This is something that Holiday Inn should warn travelers about. If I had known, I would have either a) not booked there or b) requested a room that had 4 solid walls instead of opening up to the Holidome. Cleanliness- as far as I can tell, the only cleaning my hotel room went through was to have the linens changed, which I could only discern by the amount of itchy starch. The bathroom floor definitely was not even swept as there was litter and, um, body hair left behind from previous guest(s). Location-although being close to the airport can be a plus, it is really difficult to get to. They either need to add signage to surrounding roads or the highway exit or (better yet) change their street address to reflect which road they're actually on.

Skip this one
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/05
Difficult to get to due to construction. Bathroom drain did not function properly and was not repaired during our stay. There a lots of hotels in this area, so I would skip this one.

Not so good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/30/04
This whole hotel smelled of chlorine. At 4 AM our upstairs neighbor took a shower, and the plumbing made a horrible noise that woke us up. A lot of road construction is going on nearby, so it is hard to find. The staff was very nice, and the airport van picked us up quickly.
