a fine place to stay
By ,
Our overall visit was wonderful. The staff was very cordial and the accomadations and grounds exceptional. My only disappointment was in our dinner. it seemed very average for the price we paid. Food was not something I would get excited about. We had dinner in a Mom and Pop restaurant the next evening in Metarie, LA that put Monmouth's dinner to shame.

An amazing experience
By ,
We stayed in a room in the main house. It was beautiful. It is like going back in time. The staff was warm and friendly and the hotel and grounds are like being in paradise. Breakfast in the morning was great. Having dinner is a must, it may have been the best meal I have ever had.

Wonderful night
By ,
We were upgraded from a standard room to a suite due to our anniversary and were greeted with a bottle of sparking wine. It was exceptional and this place is not only beautifully romantic but it was a haven of quietness and solitude. Even though Natchez in July is very sultry and humid the suite offered an escape to a time that was what my wife and I needed. Breakfast was exceptional, staff was very friendly and anxious to be of service without being overbearing. The gardens and courtyard were stunning especially for a small antebellum mansion B&B. We did not eat dinner in the mansion, but would plan to experience this on our next visit. We would definitely return here especially in the spring or fall.

Nice....But
By ,
My husband and I stayed at the Monmouth for an overnight get away in January. When we checked into our suite the fireplace didn't work. There were two sinks in the bathroom only one worked. The carpet was stained and needed to be replaced. They sent someone to our suite and fixed the fireplace. We had cocktails and dinner in the main house. It was wonderful. If you eat dinner here make sure you ask for a private table away form the main dinning room. You may have to sit with someone who is loud and obnoxious if you don't.

Honeymoon Getaway
By ,
After being married in New Orleans, my wife and I spent our honeymoon at Monmouth. Once you arrive, you are made truly welcomed in a manner only possible in the Deep South. The grounds are spectacular and fit for a romantic stroll. Cocktails in the courtyard followed by a delictible dinner in the grand dining room make for a perfect evening. The plantation, a historical site in in itself is close to other beautiful plantations and good antiquing in Natchez. Around Christmas, Monmouth is decorated beautifully. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious. We stayed in the Duke of Monmouth Suite which was decorated spectacularly and which was secluded down the path from the main house. A great place to stay.

Southern Elegance and Comfort
By ,
This was my first Time at Monmouth Plantation, but it will not be my last. They make you feel like you are at home, only you do not have to do a thing. They are always there but never intrusive. The Richs' have a staff that most only dream of having to take care of their guests.
