Will never stay here again!
By CindyS, 11/29/08
Reserved rooms for executive floor due to amenities, after there and checked in called to ask where the executive dining area was that was when we found out it wasn't open due to janatorial problems, Did offer free breakfast at Basil's which had a dollar limit and paid the difference. Upset wasn't informed on check in of the problem with the room had to find out on our own, probably would of downgraded room. Wireless internet not free charge an outrageous $12.95 per day for access. Couldn't get connection from our room and spent more time on phone with IT help desk than on internet. Not alot of amenities for the price and rooms were just OK, nothing elaborate for the price. Staff difficult to work with when had problems with room charges and manager was to call us and never did....not worth wasting my time with. Very dissapointed we chose this hotel for our first downtown experience. Will never choose Hilton again!

Terrible customer service
By Kimberly, 06/01/08
Let me start by saying that the hotel itself was very nice- the updated bathrooms are a nice touch and the room had a flat screen tv and comfortable bed. Upon arrival the refrigerator did not work and the maintenance man was very quick to come and try to fix it. When that did not work he brought us a new refrigerator in a very timely manner and called back to make sure that everything was ok. Unfortunately he was the person who gave us the best service, which is not what you would expect from a four star hotel. It took over an hour, two phone calls, and two different visits from housekeeping to receive towels and toothpaste. The front desk staff were unable to properly charge my credit card for parking charges, which resulted in two unauthorized charges being added to my account and several phone calls to the hotel itself, my bank, and also to customer service on two separate days. During the second round of calls to the hotel the manager on duty had the audacity to tell me I was being rude and was yelling at him. At this point I called customer service and requested that the room be comped. After being on hold for twenty minutes with customer service I was told that they could not do anything for me because I was not the person who had originally paid for the room. For being owned by such a major corporation I am terribly unimpressed with the level of customer service by this hotel. Anyone can remodel or update their rooms, but if the staff cannot conduct themselves in a classy manner and cannot do simple things correctly then it's not going to make a difference if it's the Days Inn or the Waldorf Astoria. After this experience I would be more likely to pick the Days Inn.

Never been to Minneapolis? STAY HERE!
By JJ, 04/14/08
This hotel is the best I have stayed in for a while. The staff is very professional, and attentive to every minor detail. They know the city and will answer every question you have. This hotel is within walking distance to alot of attractions and extreemly convenient! The rooms where amazing and the bed was better than the one I have at home! If you have never been to Minneapolis this is the hotel to stay at!

My Hilton Experience
By AJ, 03/05/08
WOW I am a Monday through Friday traveller and I have to rate this hotel, BY FAR my favorite hotel that I've stayed in YET. I don't know if it was the amazing view from my room, or if it was the extremely cool showerhead in the most pleasing to the eye bathroom... I can't wait to stay at this hotel again! ***I am a Hilton Diamond member and was not asked to write this review.***

$50 Early Departure Fee???
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/15/07
I never have understood how a hotel that holds itself out to business travelers as a hotel for business travelers can charge an early departure fee. Doesn't the hotel management realize that business plans change? Its ridiculous.

Great weekend value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/18/07
We benefitted from a verious affordable weekend rate. We must habe been lucky this was a slow weekend in town. Anyway, we enjoyed this facility very much. We come often to Minneapolis for the weekend as we like to go to theaters. We ahve tried most hotels downtown next to the theaters and honestly the Marquette is the best in our opinion. On Sunday we spoiled ourselves with room service...it was her birhday !!! The size of the bedrooms is much larger you would anticipate...great beds !!! We can walk every where with the skyway and in winter in Minneapolis it is a big plus. The bartender at Marq VII can fix great Cosmos. We have found or home away from home ! I hope the weekend prices will remain as affordable.

Great weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/07
Best location in town and so well connected with the skyway. If you're in town for shopping there is no better place. Their bedrooms are the largest we have ever had in our travels. Their restaurant Basi's has recently been renovated and the new menu is full of interesting new dishes. Duck confit and foie gras with brioche is an appetizers you must try. It is my favorite. Underground parking is also convenient. We were there the first weekend in January so we had to be inside !! Staff is attentive and courtious and weekend prices are very affordable. During the week they seem to be more a business hotel. The maid showed us a Suite on the 17th floor. Very nice and fancy. We come often to Minneapolis to spend the weekend and now the Marquette will be our base.

Best brunch in Minneapolis
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/06
Food was excellently-prepared, wide variety of food, and it all tasted fresh - like like it had been sitting around fo an hour. The staff was courteous and friendly. The window views were awesome. We live here, and have the brunch a couple times a year.

Basil's Restaurant is the best kept secret in town
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/06
We loved our stay in the heart of downtown. Although the hotel is not what we would call trendy or hopping in nightlife, around the hotel are many venues for fun and entertainment. The hotel was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The staff was kind, friendly, attentive and informative. The best surprise was Basil's. Our dinner was delicious and the cruisine marvelous. The service was extraordinary and the atmosphere was charming overlooking the Crystal Court.
