Very nice stay in Minneapolis
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/04
I stayed at the Millennium Hotel in Minneapolis for five nights. The staff was competent and friendly. I arrived early on a Thursday, so they suggested the local farmers market to decompress from my flight--GREAT suggestion. The conceierge booked a manicure for me at a spa that required an 8 block walk through the best of downtown Minneapolis, a very enjoyable stroll. The Millenium is in walking distance of everything; the morning it rained, I used the skyways. My room was small, but cozy, and beautifully appointed. I appreciated the suede-covered love seat, complete with afghan for curling up and reading up on my next-day business info. The windows opened, so I was able to enjoy the cool, dry night air while I slept on the FABULOUS bed. The breakfast buffet at Nic's was delicious, and room service fare arrived promptly and still hot. Restaurant service was worthy of 5 stars, and the dinner entrees were fabulous. The lobby was light, bright and comfortable, complete with a Martini Bar and live piano music -- a great place for socializing before going out to dinner. Great service from the bar staff, too. Friends staying at "big chain" hotels took one look and adopted the Millennium as our official meeting-up place for the length of our stay in the city, noting that none of their hotels had "real" lobbies. It was a very enjoyable experience, and I would not hesitate to book a stay there the next time I'm in Minneapolis.
