Not exactly what we expected....
By ,
We got suspicious standing on the street in the harbor and not being able to see the hotel! Sure the room was clean and comfortable. But we reserved a "Lake View" king-size and paid more than a normal king. Definitely not a lake view unless you stand at the window and put your head against the glass and look around the obstructing buildings across the street! We were on the 11th floor. Doubtful even rooms higher had a better view due to bank buildings across the street. Even harbor view was obstructed. Wireless internet was temperamental and kept dropping our connection every 2 to 3 minutes. Not likely to stay there again.

Will never stay here again
By ,
Our family is from Northern Mn about 3 hours from Duluth. We took a trip to Duluth for the weekend to bring our children to the zoo, aquarium, etc. After a long exhausting day we were all so excited to finally be on our way to the hotel to lay down and relax. What a disappoint, we got to our room (which was the kids room suite that we had reserved for over $300) and the bunk beds had dirty sheets that were in a ball on the bed, the bathrooms were dirty, toilets had not been flushed, there was food crusted to leg of the table and there had been no vacuuming done. We had the housekeepers in there twice to clean and the manager on duty in there once and the place was still dirty and we only recieved $50 dollars off the room charge and a free meal. This place was FILTHY!!!!! I however highly recommend the Edgewater Resort and WaterPark on London Rd.

That was such a good hotel!!!!!
By ,
That is a really good hotel to stay at if u have to get over to the Deck early in the morning.... like for competition for Figure Skating... that was so nice. We didn't have to get up super early and go into our cold cars... we could just walk over from our hotel in the sky walk. You get to walk over so many things it is really cool. I'm definitely going back this year to stay there for competition!!!!! Figure Skater of Hayward Club

Excellent Value!
By ,
Great value for a good quality hotel. The staff here seems to go out of it's way when it comes to customer satisfaction. I'm a platinum member and I always receive the free upgrade WITHOUT asking. One note, even though It's not on Canal Park this is a nice place to stay. It's a long walk or short drive to Lake Superior.

Good times here
By ,
We had a lot of fun at the Holiday Inn. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and got us a room right away even though we had no reservation and it was very busy. The room was very clean, well kept and had wireless internet which was a big perk. The Hotel has two swimming pools, an arcade, fitness center, and access to the skywalk system (which was great). It was be very hard to get bored in this hotel. It's also right in the middle of the city, which makes getting almost anywhere a snap because you can pretty much walk there in less than 10 minutes, but if you do have to drive the parking ramp is free and easy to use. Great hotel, great service, with more than enough to keep you entertained. We're looking forward to going back!

Would stay there again but, check around first!
By ,
At first we were given a different room than what we'd expected...( wanted to be by the pool.) However the staff happily arranged to correct the mistake! Whenever we called for something they had someone at our door in minutes! The kiddy pool was not as expected! It is connected to the skyway system which has a few shops and resturaunts. Their "Porters" resturaunt did'nt serve dinner the nights we were there(Sun.-Tue.)Their "Sneakers bar and grill" was non-smoking...and for a bar atmosphere the food was very good! Breakfast at Porters was fabulous and not over priced! Overall a good experience I'd return again!

We stayed at two different hotels when visiting area. First was Holiday Inn and our room was very clean! Second was Best Western Edgewater, not so hot! Room was very dusty, hair in the bathroom (stuck to hairdryer, etc)

In the heart of Duluth
By ,
The Holiday Inn is one of the original "new" hotels in downtown Duluth, and it's located in the center of the city. Connected to the skywalk system, it allows you to criss-cross your way through most of the buildings without stepping ouside. This is particularly useful during the cold and/or rainy months. The hotel offers standard rooms and suites, and the indoor pool is an interesting design. No hotel restaurant, but being downtown offers many close options - all without stepping outside.

If you're looking for quaint, keep looking. If convenience and cost are your motivators, this is a good choice.
