H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!!!!!!
By yunika, 7/24/11
I am a very fair person, I did read the reviews before I booked my room on Hotels.com, I decided to give them a chance anyway! As soon as we got here, We noticed the overwhelming odor of cat urine! The bathroom looked like it hadnt been clean in awhile, We had 2 towels when we got here, The so- called double beds look like twin beds and they are hard as steel!!! We were told that our room had a fridge in it but we didnt have one, We complained to the manager and Hotels.com, The manager lied and told Hotels.com that there was a fridge in the room but it was broken (there was no fridge in the room,at all!!!) It was too late to leave, they refused us a refund, and after hours of complaining on the phone and to the manager, We got a fridge that looks like its from the stone-age!!! The pool was so murky you couldnt see the bottom of it, the spa didnt work at all, the furniture in this room is definitely from the 80's!! Dont waste your time or money coming here, you will be sadly disappointed, I cant believe Hotels.com even have this type of hotel on their list!! This place needs to be demolished and rebuilt, I cant even believe they have a license to rent out rooms here, this is a crime, I swear!!!! I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy, I promise you!!!!

Choose another hotel
By Willi jo, 6/27/11
Days Inn Maplewood provided a "discount" for staying 2 nights and is conveniently located across from the Maplewood Mall. These are about the only positive things I can say about this hotel. I originally reserved a room with 2 double beds as were originally going to have our daughter with us. Plans changed and our daughter did not join us, and the clerk was able to change us to a room with a king bed and NEW carpet. However, this same room had a luggage rack/shelf that was broken out of the plaster/wall on the left side and one of the lamps was missing a switch cover, so was unable to turn on the lamp at all! The bathroom was NOT equipped with a hairdryer, nor did the room have a collapsable luggage rack. I had to sign a waiver that stated that there would be no smoking done in the room, which was not a problem as my husband, nor I have ever smoked in our lives. It had a patio door that opened up into the courtyard, however, my husband discovered approximately 42 cigarette butts on the ground outside of our patio door. YUCK! I unplugged the lamp, moved it to the floor next to the dresser with a note, thinking it would be fixed or replaced upon our return to the room, but neither was done. It was a nice surprise that there were microwaves/mini-fridges in all of the rooms, but would have been nice to have had instructions on how to use the fridges (I think it stayed on as long as you kept the entry way light on). They also had this neat device that I had not seen in a hotel room before, which was a retractable clothesline that hangs parallel with the shower curtain. I used it for both of my towels, as I was going to reuse them the next day. When, I returned to our room, I found that both of my towels were gone. So much, for going green! Also, we had 3 towels, but only 2 towels were replaced. On the first night of our stay, we left our dog in his kennel in our truck, but decided to let him join us on the second night of our stay. This is a pet-friendly hotel, however, our king room was not a pet-friendly room, so had to change rooms. We thought we would be moved to an equivalent room, but was moved to a room with 2 double beds. This bathroom did have a hairdryer in it, but there was still what looked like coffee cup rings left on the bathroom sink counter, making you wonder if it was sanitized at all..."Pet-friendly" rooms must also be near "smoke-friendly" rooms, as I practically choked on second-hand smoke around 1:30 a.m. from an adjacent room. It appeared that there must have been baseball & softball tournaments going on as we had seen some teams checking in. Well, these same kids were also apparently unsupervised as they were spent most of the night running up & down the hallways and being very loud:( It finally got quiet at 2:48 a.m. Apparently, there must not be enough staff to enforce quiet time... The pool looked lovely, when not over-crowded with children. 1-2 p.m. would be the ideal time to use the pool or whirlpool. It appeared as if there was an adjacent restaurant, but there was no information provided in our rooms, check-in or in the hotel directory. I think the restaurant changed owners and switched to a Thai restaurant, but as there was not any information, we are unsure.

Best among all I stayed with till day
By Saam, 6/15/11
Well to tell you about this place, there are a lot of things which I liked, The first thing I would say is the hospitality from the staff . I stayed here for three days and normally one would get to to know about the place, hospitality & staff within 24 hours & like I said having stayed here for three days I'm very positive & would highly recommend this place. I like the swimming pool the most while my entire stay. The breakfast was simply awesome and because I was here on a business work I used their internet service which was simply faster than the one I use at home. like wise I was also able to finish my work online & would able to spend more quality time in their restaurant & the swimming pool. I was asked to try the gymnasium but then I was too lazy for that, but then will give a try on my next visit. On the whole I can say its worth staying with them when compared what I paid.

THIS IS HORRIBLE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/1/11
I had stayed here with my business the second weekend in May for work and it was horrible and the worst experience ever! First of all the rooms were disgusting! The hallways stink and rooms were so overally digusting! Our bathroom was very dirty. It was so dirty that I did not even want to shower. The smell was awful. I had to go around the room and spray it. The beds were so hard and everything is so old school. They need an upgrade! And also the outside windows were broken! How ghetto is that and hello...someone could easily break in! We had to switch rooms and both rooms had that and apparently the front desk person knew and said that it was okay. Talk about how unsafe. Overall this place is disgusting and horrible. Do not stay here. Although it may be cheap, but the room and everything else is cheap and crappy!

DO NOT SAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By HoTtMaMaZ, 3/9/09
This place was built in 1980 and doesn't look like ANYTHING has changed! The furniture is OLD, TORN, STAINED and GROSS looking! The room smelt like an overload of room deodorizer. It was a COMPLETE rip Off! I didn't even stay the night after the concert because that place was so dirty! The tub had stains. The blanket on the bed under the Bed spread was obviously stained! I will NEVER stay there again and FAIR WARN ALL concert go-ers for MYTH - NOT TO GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place really needs updated furniture and new carpet! Stains all over. We even seen food stuck to the floor by our dusty mini fridge. GROSS! Staff was nice! A waste of $74.00! We took a cab home!

This hotel is disgusting, DON'T stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/6/08
First think when you walk in the lobby, it smells horrible!!! The carpets are filthy. The window in our room didn't lock, the screen was tore. Very unsecure. The bathroom sink leaked. The drain in the tub was broke. I told the desk clerk and all she said was ok, talk to my manager. The room is only worth about $40 a night, if that. It is definetly only a one star hotel, maybe a .5! I would never ever stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Another Pakistan ran hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/08
Another Best Western hotel bought out by a Pakistan family. Do NOT stay at the end of the hotel where the front desk is. I listened to the band rattle my window until 1:00 AM. I called the desk 2 or 3 times to see if they would give me another room, but they were too confused by my complaint. Hotel maybe had 30 rooms rented, so there were rooms available, they just didn't want to clean another one. One yeah, on the clean part - that was tongue in cheek.

Best Stay in Years
By JAY_09, 4/21/07
I loved this hotel because of any things. It's full service has a pool and spa area, game room, fitness area, restaurant and it has a fitness area. The hotel is under new management and ownership and is very clean and friendly. This hotel is next to a Club and the Maplewood mall.

Excellent Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/05
I had my wedding here and I felt that the catering and banquet staff were top notch. Very good at making sure all the i's were dotted and t's were crossed. Very pleasant to work with. We received a free jacuzzi suite without even asking. We thought we were just getting a regular room. Very impressed.

Could've found better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/6/05
I disliked the staff. I found the front desk people to be very rude and inconsiderate. They tried to pass along tasks onto someone else and didn't take responsibility.
