never again!

we recently stayed at this hotel for its location... as we were in town for the Mayo Clinic. We booked this hotel so that we wouldn't need to rent a car as their website stated they would provide travel to anywhere in Rochester. We found out shortly after being there that this is UNTRUE. they will take you to the Mayo clinic, but they do not cover all of rochester as their website states. They also do not have a gift shop/etc to purchase travel items, etc as their website also states. You can definatley tell they allow pets because their rooms smell like a wet dog took up residence there for awhile. I wouldn't recommend this hotel - especially since there are so many others in the area.

The free shuttle service is more than worth it.

This Best Western has an awesome shuttle service. You can request a drop off and pick up anywhere in the area. We went back and forth to the Mayo clinic, to the mall, and even to the movie theater. The rooms were clean, and the indoor pool was a good size with two basket ball hoops. The breakfast included Belgium waffles. If you have to go to the Mayo clinic, even if just to visit, this is the place to stay.

Loved it

There are a lot of pros with this hotel! First, we got the mayo rate, which was great. Second, rooms were clean! Pool area was clean and nice. The best part of this stay was the vans they use for transportation. They will take you anywhere in the city and come and pick you up. The first day we tried the skyways and subways and got lost, were very stressed out, and tired. The second day of appointments at mayo went so much easier with the vans taking us where we needed to go. Even though check out was at 12, we were able to get to and from our appointments throughout the entire day. Other people who were staying there told us it was the best and they always came back for that reason. They also have kitchenette units available. Even when my daughter got sick in the middle of the night they were very helpful. We called the front desk and they had fresh towels and Lysol for us in 5 minutes. Breakfast was good. We will stay here every time we come for check ups. They go out of the way to make sure you are relaxed and everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Would for sure go back!!

We had a wonderful 5 night stay..From the comfort of our room to the shuttle to the pool and the arcade..to the delicious food at the restaurant..and the great variety offered for breakfast. The shuttle drivers were very friendly..and resourceful. And you can't leave without trying the Creamy Chicken and wild rice soup over a bread bowl at Twigs

Never Stay Here Unless You Want Things Stolen

My parents recently stayed at this location like they had many times in the past while visiting Mayo clinic. Unfortunately they hire people to clean the rooms that take advantage of sick people. My mom was there for a Dr. visit and left her wedding and engagement ring in her cosmetic bag so nothing would happen to it at the hospital. Upon her return home she found her rings were missing. My parents have been married 40 years and no one has ever stolen her rings on her previous stays while she was in the hospital. I think it is even worse that the hotel staff doesn't seem to care that they have a criminal working for them. They know who cleaned the room so all they have to do is go after that person. My parents are filing a police report but all my mom wants is her rings back. She is very upset and so am I. I would like to save anyone the trouble of getting thier belongings stolen if they stay here.

It was wonderful

For our first stay in Minnesota, we chose the Best Western because of the advertised shuttle service. Not only, was the shuttle service wonderful, everything was, the courteous, accomodating staff, the restaurant, the delecious breakfast offered and the very comfortable beds. We also made use of the beautiful pool, which happened to include the company of Kent, the handsome shuttle driver, at the time I chose. The hairdresser, gave me a very good haircut at a very reasonable price and the gift shop has just about anything you would need. If we ever have to come back to the Mayo Clinic, we will definitely choose the Best Western Soldiers Field Tower. They make you feel at home.

Have not gone back.

The good stuff first- 1.The free airport shuttle and the shuttle drivers were all really nice!!! 2. It had a bar/rest. to get dinner if we did not want to drive. The cont. breakfast is also very good. The bad---1. The room was shabby & SMELLED like smoke! The next day we were all breathing heavy!!! This room was in the main building up the elevator. Our room we had before was one of the small apartments-that one was clean and nice. 2. The ladies that worked the front desk were some what impatient & at times flat out rude! 3. The price was hi for a dirty, smelly room! 4. We travel to Mayo every 3 months- we have not gone back to this hotel.

Patient at Mayo Clinic. Excellent service, from room care to shuttle service which takes patrons to needed appts on time and with a smile. Kudos to Gwen and her team. Restaurant menu selection good. Breakfast excellent.

Great place!

We had originally booked at the Extended Stay North, but after smelling the smoky (non-smoking) room, we decided to stay at the Best Western. The room was very clean with a microwave, refrigerator, etc. The continental breakfast had a little bit of everything for everyone, but the part that is the absolute best is the courtesy van. Not only are the drivers friendly, but they will pick you up when you want and take you where you want to go. The shuttle will pick you up at the airport if you're flying in. We have to come out a few more times for more appointments, and will definitely be staying here again. Thanks for making a hard trip a little easier.
