Lamp Post Inn, Ann Arbor

My wife and I stayed here for two days. The door was hard to open and I had to ram my shoulder into door to open it. The internet access was free but I had to sit outside to get any signal. The shower was tiny. I am 6 foot tall and I kept hitting my head on the shower fixture. The sink had no plug, and it clogged one time. The air conditioner had a funky smell. The day I left I found ants all over my luggage. The breakfast was good and the staff was super friendly. Over all I would stay here for a football weekend but no longer then one night. And only if the price was right. It was too much for all the problems.

Just the place I needed for 3 weeks stay. A kitchennette that keep me well fed. Room was fine, rubbish bin and bathroom cleared everyday. If self laundry avaliable, my stay will be complete. This is my first visit to US, so I am please to be safe and warm during this autumn at Lamp Post. Will recommend to my colleagues if posted to Ann Arbor.

Lovely place to stay. Very welcoming staff. From Ghana and with not too much money to spend on accommodation this was a true heaven and great value for your money. Clean rooms and good breakfast... Ann Arbor Accommodation= Lamp Post Inn

If you don't worrry about hygiene or insects or foul neighbors this is the place for you. Abosultely the worst motel we ever stayed in. Almost everything is broken and the sheets have holes in them. Don't sit on the furniture unless you have had your rabies shot!

We enjoyed our stay at the Lamp Post Inn very much. Room was clean and everything was functioning properly, tv, microwave, coffee machine , heating. People were very friendly and helpful. We can recommand the Lamp Post Inn to every traveller coming to Ann Arbor. As the sign says: clean, friendly, affordable

I had reservations for 4 nights and couldn't wait to get out after the first night. It was digusting, delapidated and dirty. Not worth the price for the location. I travelled 3 minutes longer and was happy after I left.

It was really dirty. The toilet did not function properly. It looked nothing like the pictures. I did not want to lay down on the bed at all. The shower was a stand- in shower and the water would not go down. The staff was nice but the place is run down. It needs a lot of work.

The first thing I noticed was the service. This has to be the friendliest, most helpful motel staff on earth. I don`t mean the usual artificial courtesy we`re all used to. I was treated like an old friend. Instead of being handed a key and pointed toward my room, I was accompanied by the desk manager who unlocked the door, turned on the lights, adjusted the thermostat and made sure everything was in order. This motel isn`t new by a long shot but my room was comfortable, well maintained, very clean and QUIET (no tissue paper walls). Had a nice sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker plus plenty of cable channels. Bathroom was well stocked including stuff I`m used to having to ask for at other places. Grocery(and lots of other shops) right next door. And the price was right! This was my first trip to Ann Arbor. I know where I`ll be staying on future visits.

The Lamp Post Inn is a couple of miles away from the University of Michigan campus, but getting to and from the campus and the inn was easy and took about five minutes. Ann Arbor seems like a fairly safe, quiet town, and the area around the Lamp Post Inn was certainly quiet and safe enough. The Inn itself was comfortable. It lacked some amenities, most notably an internet connection, but the basics--tv, heater, hot water--all worked. The staff were helpful and friendly. All in all, the Lamp Post Inn is a clean, quiet, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in Ann Arbor.

it is an average off road motel....the room were clean...but the bath tub itself had many paint repairs and it look bad (discoloration) for the one who need only a night rest its fine.
