Not Your Best Choice
The security door by the side of the pool was never really locked, even though the hotel claims it is. Plus, if you stay for a couple days, you have to go to the front desk every 24 hours to renew your key-- otherwise you were locked out of your own room, which I found to be quite annoying. However, if I did had to go to the front desk, the people behind the desk were very courteous.
The worst part about my stay had to have been the showers. The shower heads were not functional which meant I pretty much had to take a bath the time I was there every day. The hotel also advertised free internet, but I got no signal or connection at all whatsoever.
There was a temporary draped sign over the old one, which suggets to me that the hotel recently changed ownership. As a U-M graduate, who lived in Ann Arbor for four years, I must say I didn't really hear of this hotel before. If I were still a student, it might not be a bad place to stay, quite affordable. However, I reiterate that you could probably get better deals for your bottom dollar; see the established chains along nearby Carpenter Rd, especially since this hotel was difficult to find off Washtenaw.
