Dirty and nasty hotel.

Dark lobby, nasty and smelly rooms. Breakfast terreble. Do not stay there.

Not Your Best Choice
By Sunil S, 7/10/07
The security door by the side of the pool was never really locked, even though the hotel claims it is. Plus, if you stay for a couple days, you have to go to the front desk every 24 hours to renew your key-- otherwise you were locked out of your own room, which I found to be quite annoying. However, if I did had to go to the front desk, the people behind the desk were very courteous. The worst part about my stay had to have been the showers. The shower heads were not functional which meant I pretty much had to take a bath the time I was there every day. The hotel also advertised free internet, but I got no signal or connection at all whatsoever. There was a temporary draped sign over the old one, which suggets to me that the hotel recently changed ownership. As a U-M graduate, who lived in Ann Arbor for four years, I must say I didn't really hear of this hotel before. If I were still a student, it might not be a bad place to stay, quite affordable. However, I reiterate that you could probably get better deals for your bottom dollar; see the established chains along nearby Carpenter Rd, especially since this hotel was difficult to find off Washtenaw.

Best Value Cleans Rooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/06
When I arrived I noticed that the sign outside was temporary, however I decided to go further and went inside. And to my surprise it was nice place to stay, especially for the price.

Dreadful
By Eric P, 8/20/04
Easily the worst hotel I have ever seen in the United States. I will limit my comments to the room.

The hotel room was not clean. The coffee machine was half-full of old coffee. There was a used bar of soap on the sink. There was pubic hair on the toilet. (Please forgive this graphic description, but you need to know this if you are considering staying there.) The bed was not properly made and the top sheet had a quarter-sized hole in it. Two sets of extra sheets and blankets were sloppily rolled-up and placed on top of the chrome coat shelf, along with an apparently used plastic laundry bag. One large window was smudged with grease. There were crumbs on the couch. Instead of a desk chair, there was a recliner, and so you could not use the desk. And, on, and on, and on.

Needless to say, after seeing the common spaces and the room we decided to cancel our stay there. The desk clerk did not appear at all surprised.

We moved to one of the two Hampton Inns in Ann Arbor, where we encountered others who had planned on staying at the same Quality Inn but decided against it as well.
