YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/09
THIS PLACE REALLY SUCKS. THE POOL ARE IS WAY OVER CROWDED AND WATER WAS WARM BUT THE AREA WAS COLD. VERY COLD DRAFTS WHILE WALKING IN THE MILDEW SMELLING HALLWAYS TO YOUR SMALL OUT DATED ROOMS. THE HOT TUB IS NOT TOO HOT AND FULL OF KIDS. STAFF REALLY SUCKS. OUT BED HAD STAINED SHEETS AND AFTER COMPLAINING TO THE FRONT DESK SEVERAL TIMES, THE SENT OVER SOME MAIDS TO CHANGE THE SHEETS AND THERE WERE VERY MEAN. GO TO THE GREAT WOLF LODGE IN PA OR NIAGARA FALLS AND YOU WILL BE 100 % SATISFIED. ITS MORE EXPENSIVE, BUT WELL WORTH IT !

Great for the Kids, OK for adults too
By Paul, 09/09/09
This was our second time here. Forget the SPA and wine stuff, that’s all marketing crap. The Wave pool is great for kids and there will be plenty of them. The lifeguards on duty are the typical teenage type. A couple did their job OK but most are more interested in talking with each other rather than keeping the kids in line. We spent 2 ½ hours in the water and did not have any issues this year. Shouldn’t be a problem if you’re accustomed to watching your own kids. We booked a room with two beds, a small refrigerator and a fireplace in the quiet 600 wing. The rooms and halls looked to have been renovated. They were neat and clean, the beds were comfortable, the water was hot enough but the pressure was weak. It probably had a water saver device attached. Don’t book a room facing the inside. They have nightly Bon fires, a movie, and an outside bar which is fun but it can be noisy and smoky. There are plenty of good places to eat and shops to visit in the area so we try something different each time we visit. My expectations are in line with what they are, a family friendly motel in a great area with some cool stuff for kids and adults.

Fantastic resort - would go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/01/09
This resort had mixed reviews and don't understand why. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The wave pool and indoor water slides were great for the kids. Fantastic staff and food was great as well. Would go back in a second...On a main rd close to everyting but very quiet

I do not recommend this hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/09
I went with my mother and ten year old twins for their birthday. * the "fireplace" is tacky. It's not real. It uses a couple of sterno cans to make the fire. * People in the next room kept us up until midnight. I called the front desk four times. They were incredibly unhelpful. * If you order room service, there is no table to put the food on. The waitress put our tray on the bed. They also forgot one of the four breakfasts. * The room advertises that it sleeps five. If you do have five people, you get a cot and have to pay an extra $20. * Check your bill when you leave. They ended up charging me three times for the cot. * The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything your neighbors are saying. * The kids did like the wave pool. That was the one positive attraction.

Avoid like the plague!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/08
There's nothing positive to say about the Cape Codder "Resort": - Front desk staff is miserable to everybody and treats their guests like an inconvenience. - The grounds are abysmal, with construction everywhere and a complete lack of landscaping. - The rooms are clean but loud, with paper thin walls. - The location is, I suppose, adequate, but certainly not within walking distance of anything of interest. - The cancellation policy (7 days when a 100+ block of rooms has been reserved?) is not in line with better hotels. - Most of all, the people working there don't seem to be enjoying themselves much. The attitude comes right though and lands on the guests. Perhaps it's not bad with kids (but be warned, the chlorine gas in the wave pool area is overwhelming), but certainly not up to even two star standards.

There are better places, I hope.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/10/08
The hallways smelled of mildew, the front desk staff was rude, I found an unknown person (male) sleeping overnight on couch in common area and reported it, found a one month old newspaper in room, the grounds were covered with debris (metal plates with nails sticking out) and trash from roof repairs and there were large holes dug everywhere outside (courtyards), why? A very loud party right next to the "complimentary" movie made it impossible to enjoy the movie and the staff was unhelpful. Lastly, a bar 100 feet from our room across the parking lot had an outdoor deck with loud noise until 1:00 A.M.,nightly. Will not hurry back, very dissatisfied.

What's that smell???
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/25/08
My wife had found out about the Cape Codder through friends and their website. Unfortunately the website does not show the current "under construction" issues at the motel, and I mean motel not hotel... When we first arrived we were impressed with the outside until we were told that our room was in the back of the hotel. While proceeding to the back of the motel we were not impressed by the many dumpsters and port-a-potties that accented ripped-up landscapping and low wires providing electricity to my $250 dollar a night room. When we finally arrived at our room, my children remarked "whats that smell", the room smelled like old socks and you could tell the staff was trying to disquise the odor with an air freshner in the air conditioner duct. In addition, the TV had about 8 channels and the picture shook like it was sitting on top of a jack-hammer. There was no late check-out for families during vacation week or "swamp week" as I call it, and you have to be out of the pool by 10:30am your last day. Terrible waste of money

Wife and Kids loved it
By KENNETH, 03/23/08
Indoor water park was nice but crowded, staff was friendly but the 16 year old life guards with whistles were on a power trip, hearth & Kettle was ok but pricey, if the place was fully remodelled they could charge alot more...would I go back ? no. would wife and kids want to go back ? definetly YES. all cape cod resorts are old. if you want new head south past VA. if grungy and old is ok this is the place

heaven for kids of all ages
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/07
this is a great place for kids! have been several times and always enjoyed it! In faCT, saw the painting by Chapley in the hall, found the print on line and it is now gracing my dining room! Everything one could want is close by - I have told many friends about the "codder" as well. Maureen Barry
